I love Kyrie's consciousness because he refuses to be a tool. I will still put Isaiah Thomas as the best ball handler because everyone palms, carries and travels nowadays and it's allowed.
Correction: KD requested a trade when the Nets cannot lock Kyrie to sign a contract because they offered a bad one. KD agreed to stay when Kyrie agreed to extend for a year. But mid year whilst KD was injured Kyrie requested a trade. When the Nets traded Kyrie, then KD also requested for a trade. KD was willing to stay with the Nets as long as they keep Kyrie. It was the Nets who messed things up and left KD with only role players with no capable co-star. All superstars can be difficult. Nets have it easier, KD and Kyrie got along … all they needed to do was keep both … (KD and Kyrie are not that bad - they aren’t hoodlum wannabes, underage women chasers, or assaulters … basically harmless). Mavs tried to find a costar for Luka but none worked before they landed Kyrie. KD chose the Suns as he waved the Nets goodbye. Nets ruined their chance … they finally got superstars and they messed up.
Most controversial? Nah just lacking in common sense and logic but this year he seems to have made strides in the maturity department and that has to be acknowledged if we acknowledge the other stuff
