Man, that Zeeker is a beauty. The interior is lovely and functional. I'm a Tesla fan, but it makes me think someday Tesla may have to abandon its minimalist approach to compete at the high-end, especially when FSD turns your car into a living room. BTW, the car hauler in the tunnel when you were on the phone with Shanna was an Omen. Take it from an old world traveller. Never ignore an omen. It's a message.

we will take delivery in 2 weeks , wait is selling our SUV to a relative and install wall charger , Volvo did not want to give us much for SUV , but Relative will, delays actually was 3 people involved in selling SUV. Next week hopefully everything is final and the installed window tinting . we are getting Beige exterior , grey interior , dual motor - 1.35 m thb or 38,000 usd converted.

What you’ll struggle with is finding space for Shanna’s wheelchair, when she’ll need one. I test drove an X a few weeks ago and it wouldn’t fit my mum’s walker, I’d need to fold half (1/3) of the rear seat and you’ve got your two boys so you’ll need the full width of the rear seat. Also there was no frunk space other than able to fit the charging cables. Loved the head-up display and that you also had an instrument cluster in front of the driver. The single pedal driving was also hampered by only having two settings. One setting didn’t brake enough to rely on as a brake function and the second setting braked too much. So unlike the Tesla where I can comfortably forget about the brake pedal, I didn’t feel comfortable doing that in the Zeeker X. Also parked next to the X model was the Zeeker 001 on the showroom floor, which was very luxurious, the X felt down market in comparison. I’ve never been in a Volvo XC 30 so I can’t compare the two.
Having had a $30k repair for my Tesla MY and live in Newcastle. Only one certified Tesla repairer in Newcastle to the Qld boarder..I’d like to understand Zeekr’s service and repair set up’s prior to committing. FYI - BYD have a service centre in Cardiff Newcastle with their sales room.. seeing what the infrastructure is for Zeekr would be interesting
NRMA insurance, front end suspension steering plus panels.. only one certified location in Newcastle.. the won’t touch BYD as parts etc aren’t readily available etc
Praying for a quick recovery for Shanna. You're a great husband and father Sam! Zeekr X is really nice, but the 7X is better. I agree that the charging speed should be better on the X but still a great car. Another upgrade I think would be nice is to see it with the Aegis battery.

Main thing is Geely have plenty of experience in Australia already, so they won't be doing any trial and error like BYD did, that didn't have experience in the Australian market. As far as I've been told the right-hand drive versions that come to Australia are going to have the newer version battery and drive trains than what's on offer right now. Things made in Australia are far too expensive, not only on the labour content but also because of the poor productivity rate. Cheaper to import than set up local facilities to manufacture.
Our previous conservative government pretty much told the motor industry to go away which they did. As a result we have no motor manufacturing industry at all.

I don't see it as a direct competitor being a size smaller, it also doesn't sound like it will be cheaper than the Model Y, but certainly a good option though.
This model in Europe is €48.000 and they have quote: "10 years of free service coverage and 10 years of Premium Connected Services, along with our standard 5+5 years warranty". How is it going to be in Australia?
Those prices make it a great alternative to our Tesla Y. I don't get how the range on its 66kWh battery is just 440km when Tesla can claim the 62kWh battery in its model Y will get 533km range. I think it would be a great car for Shanna and many others (I want one now!).
Rear space looks smaller than Model Y, sacrifice space for rear design! Charging network will be the real game changer, until having fast charging time comparable to ICE, at least!!
It's nice - too small for my purposes but well laid out. Back door openings looked tiny so not a great family car IMO - a struggle to get the kids in and out of car seats but if we compare it directly with the EX30 it's more than comparable and hopefully without the software issues. I think it's a bit expensive for the size without the brand name of Volvo but evrryone wants an SUV even if it's just a tall hatchback.

Here in Russia they have been selling them for almost a year now, unofficial dealers. I think it is the most beautiful EV in the compact class.

Here in Mexico, the zeekr x AWD cost 48k usd . As for reference, the Seal AWD is 49k usd.
