Percussion is really entertaining in orchestra because we have to do it ourselves Last year a song required sleigh bells, so some of us tied some to our _shoes_ Mine fell off :')
@@clone3 speaking from experience, tenors tend to get the a mix of the runs from alto 2 and 3 and the melody or rhythms from euph/trombones.Tenor saxes are the red headed step child of the sax world that no one seems to write decent parts for

From a freshman struggling as the only tenor sax in Wind Ensemble, this is really inspiring to see how there are other great tenors out there! Have a great winter season!
@@GavinLSillavan that's lucky. I have a few altos and a bari I can kind of match with in the music, but overall I don't really have somebody to play with
ay man keep doin your thing lol. im the only tenor in my ensemble but we arguably get the best parts lol. i wish you only the best of luck on your next four years 🙏
I play euphonium and baritone, and since i prefer to read treble clef, and because we don’t have any tenor saxophones, i get stuck on that part sometimes. I guess im the closest brass has to a tenor sax, even though we have a baritone player? 😂
Really good work! Can't tell if its just the mic quality or not, but it sounds like some great improvement has been made since last time. - our band won't play sliegh ride, so I really appreciate hearing you play. -coming from a flautist
i remember seeing the old one and being like holy crap how are they so good and i’ve progressed to do the melody and the a lot part and i still need work but y’all inspired me
The flutes and clarinets in the background are so good, we're playing this in band and I've basically been dying as a freshman clarinet player, the saxes in my band have just been holding the entire band together, yall are also really amazing
Crazy, because my band's saxes are dragging it. The sax section in my band is the worst section, in my opinion. At least I know how to transfer from Bb to Eb.
as someone who has played alto tenor and bari this is amazing!!!! I most recently played tenor and am currently playing bari holiday music is so much fun as a sax!
Yessss!!! They're back! I love you guys, found your channel a year ago and seeing that a year later this was posted... pure excitement. Thank you so much, y'all are amazing! Happy thanksgiving!
my band director made me play contrabass clarinet for my band but i convinced him to let me go back to tenor for sleigh ride cuz i love the part so much
This video actually helps me out a lot, I play in my high schools wind symphony as tenor and i struggle with a few parts and now I can use this as help :D
Alto sax 2 here (should be 1 but im not complaining, who am i kidding, i AM mad about that) anyways, really good, this is such a great piece of music. I've been listening to this song on youtube and have been playing along with it, and now half the videos in my recommended are just sleigh ride from (insert instrument)'s perspective
Do you see those expressions of pure on that percussionist's face? That's why percussion is the best section of all. Percussion has all the cool sound effects that really make a song recognizable. Withoout the slapstick part or sleigh bell part, this song would not be sleigh ride, just as many other songs would be unrecognizable without their signature percussion aspects. In conclusion: Percussion superiority.
Well done guys! I'm a sophomore who has to play the lead alto part in 3 weeks at the school concert and you guys totally breezed it. I always have trouble with the first set of triplets since my ring and little finger just don't have the dexterity.
this is smoooooth 👏 great articulation & dynamics! 🎷
Hi luke big fan!
wow thank you! Love your content 🎵🎶
hi cool guy
Hii!! I love your channel!
the lick mannn
the slapstick jump in the back was fantastic lmao
First rule of auxiliary percussion is the audience can’t hear what it can’t see 😋
@@freewave04 very very true
@@past2908 I just had to watch and give them a like, thanks!
Trombone obstruction lmao
w pfp... hagane miku i see?
When the world needed them, they returned.
Unlike the avatar. in conclusion, saxophones are better the controlling the elements.
Gotta love that slap stick jump at 😅2:50
Fr lmao
i think ill forever call the whip a slap stick now
when they do it in my class it’s so loud it scares us every time

ONG
this is cool seeing you guys change over they years, and the tone quality increase in the one on the left is wild
Not the percussionist at 1:10 jumping as high as he could, as a fellow percussionist I will rate his slapping 10/10
LMFAOO I JUST NOTICED THAT
this is amazing, love the switch to tenor. tenors are great - a bass clarinetist
RAY i agree hot sexy music
My friend got placed on tenor and he malds about it lol

that’s cool i came across this comment. i’m another freshman tenor sax in wind ensemble but i also do have another tenor with me he’s senior

good luck from a senior whos only partner tenor sax is gonna switch to alto :O

That was me last year, you'll make it through good luck!
the control is immaculate, refreshing after hearing our own sax section LMAO
1:34 That lick always gets me, you did it so smoothly!
I'm so impressed on how they're playing the melody so smoothly!!! I'm currently working on sleigh ride as an alto and it's NOT easy, congrats!
THE TONE THE SOUND THE ARTICULATION. OH MY GOODNESS. it’s wonderful.
I’m so happy to see another one! Your last one convinced me to pick up sax in January then switched to tenor in September!!
That’s great!
I play euphonium and baritone, and since i prefer to read treble clef, and because we don’t have any tenor saxophones, i get stuck on that part sometimes. I guess im the closest brass has to a tenor sax, even though we have a baritone player? 😂
Switched to saxophone as well might March tenor though 👀 (hit the one year playing sax this past month)

Of course they've made an improvement. It's been a year. If there's no improvement, then something's wrong.

Omg love the switch between this and last year 🤩-Bari Player
the tone of the alto ohhh my god it’s perfect for this song

1:50 always gets me! Those high notes are not for the weak lol, you did amazing!!!
I always visit this video every year to practice along to ❤
I don't accept Christmas carols until December 1st but I'll let this slide and play it on loop while I do my homework
This just reminds me of how much I love the saxophone
They make it look so easy when they make it so smooth. I struggled when I first played this for so long...
Wasn’t expecting a second, but a welcomed surprise. Very impressive! Merry Christmas.
-A fellow sax player
My guy is now rocking the tenor sax 🎷
They’re both so fine and play so well… they’re perfect honestly 😭
As a tenor this was VERY helpful to hear my rhythms in the song! THANK YOU!!!!
I play tenor and alto and this song is always my favorite. Also the guy with the dark hair is super cute lmao.
I’m an alto. THANKS FOR THIS!
Y’all were never ugly but damnnnn y’all got fine asl in a year
I’ve never seen the saxophone part, this is amazing, good job! 🎉
I think I'm playing this exact arrangement this year haha. I play both alto and bari sax.
I seriously love this. I play alto and am returning to playing after 3 years and it is very nice to be able to listen to purely my part
I play tenor as well, and sleigh ride has been a hard song for us, this really helps me see what my parts sound like!

You guys sound great. Even the slapsticplayer jumps higher than last time.
I've played the 1st alto sax and 1st clarinet parts for Sleigh Ride. Both are very different!
That tenor sax!! 😭 Im playing it as well. Good job friend
The fact that I play bari and can hear the bari in the background goin’ at it!!
What incredible tone!! Well done!
i like that everybody just plays the same sleigh ride arrangement worldwide

YAY I GET TO SEE THIS ONE EARLY INSTEAD OF BEING TWO YEARS LATE!!!!

Yo, I'm about to play this in a few weeks for our winter concert on tenor. I need to convince my slapstick percussion friend to jump on his hits haha
I remember playing this piece two years ago
Hearing alto and tenor sax together sounds amazing istg
