That scene, Diana fixing Bruce's shoulder and Clark having a fight with Barry at hyper speed. Those are moments of the movie that make me glad I watched the movie
What James said. Snyder made half the movie with WB holding a gun to his head saying make the avengers and then hiring Joss to finish it. Which fucks up everything
I thought it was a pretty average movie. Kinda boring, and generic, but not offensively bad. Probably the best DC movie in this continuity. Its just weird because I was way into the Batman cartoon and Superman as a kid. I kinda just don't care about these characters anymore. Meanwhile, when I was a kid I thought Captain America was lame and the Guardians of the galaxy were not on my radar. DC made me not care about characters I liked with their movies. Marvel made me care about characters I didn't previously like or have nostalgia for with theirs.
Ramon I agree that he's still lame in Idea. but IMO I think Cap 2-3 were amazing and it made ALOT of people love captain america. ever since avengers and especially cap 2, I've seen so many people start to use Cap America apparel in daily life, something you NEVER see before the MCU.
This film had a $300 million dollar budget, a cast of great characters and capable actors. I can see why some liked it and why some hated it. The movie definitely had some rough spots and the reshoots probably did more harm than good. What is inexcusable, is that we get 6 comic book films a year, and this one had so much potential but all we got was "meh".
Ikr. It honestly doesn't seem like it would be that hard to just make an above average justice league movie. Rip a plotline or two from the comics and adjust it a little bit, that would've probably turned out 2x as good as what we got.
The problem with this movie is the problem with the DC universe in general. 90% of the movie was the main heros getting their shit kicked in until Superman walked in and mopped the floor in the last 10 minutes.
yeah, it made the whole, "team up to victory" (which was presented too well with the avengers) completely useless, just have superman in the planet, all other superheroes can just fuck off and it would be fine
The connection with the nightmare sequence in BVS to JL is when sups comes back and Bruce is like: we need to pull out the big guns. And so Alfred pulls up and let's Lois come out the flash in BVS was like Lois is the key. I think that whole nightmare scenario was the future where batman didn't show superman Lois when he was cheezed. Either way im just happy to see these characters together in a movie and it makes me giddy inside to see that. Also when superman was shirtless I couldn't help think of James being like.... Nice.
Not to totally thrash Elyse's interpretation of the relationship between the Trinity (Bats, Supes, WW) (or she was too hypnotized by WW performance the whole movie, idk) but not at all did Bruce give off a tell that he & Clark were friends, whether before or after his death. Bruce was just guilty that he had some hand being involved w/ his death. Thus Bruce's hesitant game plan on how to approach Clark post-revival was valid-ish. If anything, Bruce downgraded Barry from "potential forensics friend" like they are in the comics to "father - son" Plus it was mostly Alfred eluding that Bruce has romantic interest in Diana, egging him on & such, when Bruce holds onto his position on it as "I'm not like that, especially with her!" (Though in the OG JL cartoon, WonderBats was shipped like crazy)
Sumblueguy41 yeah elyse as totally treating every single thing wonder woman did as a godsend. Oh she sneezed? Strongest female character ever, give her an Oscar
Sumblueguy41 I agree. And yeah I thought the whole fact that Bats was the last one there was because he’s human and all the others can fly/move super fast (Aquaman is up for debate since he seemingly has super strength so could possibly do the whole hulk-jump thing) but yeah, just definitely not because he was just a straight puss.
that part was obviously a joke, because either way the movie glosses over important info such as that. for example they showed cyborg being built in BvS, but in this movie they think he is dead from the explosion despite having already seen him being brought back to life.
Given all the problems this film had throughout production, I'm glad it even managed to reach the heights of "just fine". There were a couple of great moments too.
Which is a shame considering JL is the most well known superhero team in comics and there's so many fantastic stories they could tell. To see it reduced to a "just fine" movie with some great moments is tragic.
Here is a theory about Batman's vision "dream" in BvS, in his dream The flash comes and says "lois lane is the key" and in JL when they bring Superman back to life, he comes back as a different more angry person "because he is confused" then Batman tells Alfred to bring the big gun and they bring "lois lane" then superman calms down so my theory is the vision that batman saw in BvS is an alternative reality "the stuff that would have happened if they didn't brought lois lane when superman was resurrected" he would turn evil and kill the JL then Darkside + Superman would take over the world
I don't know, considering that the CGI upper lip is present in that scene it would say that the scene were Louis was brought to Superman was added during the reshoot, meaning that wasn't part of the original cut. So if you can connect the two scebe a by all means do so but it appears that it would be speculation more than the actual kndended payoff to the dream sequence. Also Superman remebers Louis in the sequence, so why wouldn't he go to see. Like just because she isn't present at his revival doesn't mean she stopped existing in the world so if you take a larger look it still doesn't really work for me...
Also why would he turn evil just because he didn't see Louis, there is literally no set-up or motivation for that and would imply Superman would dearly the world because he was a little bit cranky...which creates a huge problem with his characterisation
The batman dream did have an effect because Flash shouting Lois is the key is how batman knew to bring out Lois to stop superman being a dick Just wanna also say I don't dislike funhaus at all for this video I enjoyed the video it made me laugh I just don't agree with all of what they said I agree it could have been better but a lot of the criticism they made weren't really a thing
Thomas Cefferty I was about to say the same thing. It might have been an alternate reality where superman did turn into a herald of darkseid because Lois wasn't there to snap him out of it, hence bruce had Barry go back in time. Oh well
FamesWebb64 Yeah I understand they don't give a shit about this film and didn't like it but it feels like a fair amount of the criticism could be answered by just paying attention
Apparently a lot of back story for Cyborg, Aquaman and even Steppenwolf were cut out of the film. How Batman discovered how to bring Superman back with the Mother Box, why Steppenwolf called the Mother Boxes as Mother (and why he ACTUALLY wanted the Mother Boxes), why he had a creepy crush on Hyppollita, the fact that the energy released from Superman and Doomsday’s fight is what activated the Mother Boxes, and even the fact Batman decides to bring back Superman because he thinks it will undo the vision he saw back in BvS where all also cut from the film. Idk if any of that is true, but if these were REALLY cut from the film, it actually would’ve connected to BvS and would’ve sort of explain a lot of what’s going on better. Would the movie been better with these scenes? I guess. Idk. I enjoyed JL, but I will say a lot of Whedon’s reshoots really fucked up what was introduced in BvS, even if he did add some more humor and Superman scenes. Also, the scene where Alfred in the trailers said “he told me you’d come”, that was supposed to be a scene where he meets Superman, who after talking to Lois and Martha at the farm decides to help the others but didn’t know where they were, so he somehow finds the Batcave, chills with Alfred and is given his suit.
Reading this comment back from a few years in the future is interesting now that the Snydercut is actually going to be coming out. We are actually going to be seeing all of those cut scenes.
@@dvt1393 Apparently they're shooting NEW scenes as well, so maybe they might change A LOT of stuff that would've been in there but won't anymore. Idk. The Cyborg backstory stuff seems to be in there in the recent trailers, as well as black suit Superman, so we'll have to wait and see how it turns out. I'm not super hyped for it, but I'm happy the people who followed and loved this version of beloved DC characters and hoped to see the version they were promised are getting their dream movie. Just hope it's exactly what they wanted, cause Lord knows a fucking riot would commence if it turns out to be WORSE than the Whedon movie. lol
Liked the movie. Wasn't great, like this movie should have been. Anyway the best thing about this movie is the fact that the team up movies and the Snyder era are over for this Universe. Now theres going to be some stand alone movies by talented directors. We got Aquaman and Wan, WW2 and Jenkins, Shazam and Sandberg, Nightwing and Mckay. As long as WB lets these directors find their voice like they did with Wonder Woman, then it should set the ship straight again. Maybe in three or four years we get a new Justice league movie with a good director. Its the start of phase 2, hopefully they rebuild the foundation.
Eh it wasn’t that bad, I preferred it to Wonder Woman, if anything I’m excited as fuck to see the uncut extended 4hr edition that will probably come out
I was watching through Angry Joes review, and in the background he has playing on loop the different trailers, and watching through those you can pick out A LOT of stuff that wasn't in the theatrical cut. There's definately an extended cut coming. One of the key complaints I read is that many of the scenes kinda just happen, with little conncection (which I agree with) and that should help to make things better
I personally thought this movie was pretty good, not even goanna bother qualifying the statement with a "considering the previous film" because that's akin to saying nothing. But honestly although the film dragged a bit in the beginning and had those tell tale signs of dc's unfamiliarity with this kind of overlapping story i.e. dedicating enough time to introducing characters in a meaningful way, they still got all the rest of the beats right for a decent super hero team up film. The villains just there for two reasons to act as glue for the heroes and set up darksied in later films and that works because they didn't have room in this movie to focus on fleshing out a more complex enemy and settled with one who was essentially and underling of a more well known enemy. The movie picks up after the first quarter and I'd say Wonder Woman always does her part to keep the audience engaged until the other characters can get into the spot light. Spoiler How they handled super man in this movie was my favorite portrayal yet of him because it feels like they finally embraced how absurdly overpowered he is, in other movies he's always getting into punch ups where he doesn't feel like the utterly broken character we know he is. But in this movie it feels much better and I think it has to do with how he smirks whenever he does something, makes everything come across as trivial which is the point of the SUPER Man.
Haven't seen it yet, but from what I saw of the trailers I gotta ask if Jason Mamoa was actually trying to be Sgt. Lincoln Osiris from Tropic Thunder in this movie or what? Half his lines in there were "ma man, yea-ah"... :D
every time i saw the justice league's trailer in theaters (while watching something else obviously) when aquaman yells "YEAH" i couldnt help but think of bruce doing the james hettfield "yeah" (i forgot from which video) and i laughed outrageously every time. so thanks bruce, every time anyone yells "yeah" in a deep voice now, i think of you impersonating james hettfield Edit: i do believe it was from a demo disk where you guys played guitar hero metallica but not sure love ya
The reason I hate new movies is exactly what Elyse said about wonder woman carrying this film.... not because I hate strong women but because they make such a big fucking deal about it.
I have an issue when people talk about not caring about the characters because they didn't have enough time to like them (like an origin movie) its not based on the amount of time you've seen a character its based on how well written the script/Character is, for example i care way more for Gimli and Legolas in Fellowship of the Ring then i do Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman. Those movies are the first movies for those character but LotR has way better writing. The argument that 'Marvel is better because i seen that person more' is weak, of course DC (or more to the point WB) have messed up some things with the DCEU but i don't think introducing these characters so early is one to target them for.
I would have preferred this video when Adam had seen it. I think he would have remembered it a little better than James, Bruce, and Elyse. There a few key things that they made sound really bad that weren't at all. I thought this movie was a lot of fun. My biggest gripe is it felt rushed at times, but that's because WB stamped a 2 hour limit. I would have liked another 15-30 minutes with our new characters. Who, by the way, were fun. I thought Jason Mamoa was great as Aquaman and they made me really excited for the Aquaman movie.
Adam, go see the movie. You're the biggest DC fan in the office and you will enjoy it. Yes it is not perfect and there are some dumb parts, but seeing all your favorite characters come together on screen for the first time is awesome.
Overall i liked the film. Think it is a good step forward in the right direction. (Not as good as Wonder Woman) Tons of Good moments yet good amount of bad to just lazy moments. Seen the film three times at this point and can say i see more positive then negative. Btw the reason that Cyborg was able to find the mother box so fast is that i guess the mother box was communicating with him since he was made from it. Keep up the great content!
6:58 I choose to believe that the warning from the Future timeline was stopped because the Key (Lois) was brought to stop Superman from killing the League when he's revived
I was reading the comments while listening to "It's a Hard Knock Life", and it's entertaining to not be a stakeholder in an argument that is happening around you. The fans (of all calibers) are fervorous when it comes to superhero films. From what I've read of the general lore (and with how awesome the heroes and villains are represented in Injustice 2) I see a lot of potential for DC in film. It's unfortunate that these expectations are not being met, even if they are high.
I loved the movie, maybe because im a huge DC nerd? I really didn't think the movie was bad, sure Steppenwolf was weaker than they put him out to be, but mainly it was the heroes that stole the film. Also, the after credits scene is what made the film for me.
It most definitely had it's faults but nothing truly egregious. The time limit of 2 hours definitely rushed things along, but It seems that the things that James and Bruce misunderstood were explained in the movie and pretty straight forward. The story was simple and essentially a throw away (which is actually it's biggest fault), which confuses me as to why they didn't understand why certain things were happening. Hopefully Adam gives it a chance and watches it afterall. Forming opinions based on the opinions of others is a foolish thing. A person can hold the act of jumping off a bridge in high regard, but that doesn't mean you should too.
Yeah I agree, the story definitely has issues. But I absolutely LOVED all the Justice League members, the actors nailed each of their characters and their interactions were just so damn enjoyable to watch, which saved the movie and made me really excited for the future of the DCEU!
I liked it a lot, more than I thought I would. What I absolutely LOVED, though, was Danny Elfman reusing part of his Batman 1989 theme for the scene where he meets Gordon on the rooftop. That gave me a big ol' smile on my face.
Riphade Their mind set going to see this movie was hating it, I mean Adam didn't even see it and said he is the biggest DC fan, BvS and SS were not good movies but WW was amazing and must think oh okay maybe DC movies are going to be good but Adam still had no faith in JL, I liked JL alot I didn't care about the story just wanted to see all characters being badass and coming together, each character was loved and everybody is excited for their movies.
Why are you even talking about Adam when he didn't even see it? Aren't you ignoring the criticism that the others had for the film? Also, it sounds like you had different standards then they did, you specifically say that you don't care about the story (which they clearly do).
@Jeremy Palencia Yeah I really wish they had a more positive mindset going in. Sure, there were some issues, but it at least felt like a movie that wasn't half-assed like SS. Wish Adam went to see it as well because I think him out of all them could have offered some insight some misunderstood things.
While I agree with their overall consensus, I thought they over exaggerated on some scenes to Adam. Batman was NOT hiding behind a car when superman was resurrected. Where the hell did they get that? Superman was angry because: 1. He just came back to life, he’s not going to be back to normal and they even referenced in dialogue that he may not be himself 2. Cyborg accidentally attacked first, Clark was defending himself 3. He’s never met any of them aside from WW who he barely knew Batman’s smile was far more subdued than what they said here Batman didn’t want to get w/ WW. Alfred was teasing him. What the hell Elyse? Jk Batman wanted to bring superman back because he felt guilty over what happened (it was Batman’s fucking fault after all) and he admitted Clark is more human than he is and would lead this team better. Not because they were friends. I think that was Zeus in that flashback with the lightning but who cares
Probably will happen sooner or later, with the way comic book movies keep shifting from campy to gritty every 10 years. Marvel has already started making the turn since 2015, and we all know DC will follow in their footsteps soon enough. Actually they already have. Hiring Joss Whedon and mashing in forced comedy into Justice League is enough proof of that. The tone shift from batman V superman to justice league is literally so out of the blue and random that they're not even trying to hide the fact that it's 100% marvel inspired. Speaking of which, people acting like comedy in marvel movies have no place don't understand that they've been evolving in that direction since iron man 1. Ant-man, Thor 3, Guardians and Spiderman HC for example are all branded as 50/50 comedy action. You don't complain when deadpool cracks a joke mid-battle or when a villain in Kickass acts squimish. So why should the MCU be held in a different light? The only exception I see is Iron man 3. They totally advertised that movie as a grounded and serious thriller, but then the movie was practically the opposite. I still liked it though, atleast it had a coherent story lol.
After the Flash "I push people away" line was made, I started thinking back on Aquaman and how he just swam away and imagined him saying "I just talk to fish and then swim away". Random.
6.5/10. Could be better if Batman is was serious all the time. The jokes were toned down. Different bad guy. I didn't know who the fuck he was, I know Darkseid. I thought it was solid, fun, and neat.
Kyle Cooper steppenwolf is not a big character the biggest thing he ever did was kill wonder woman and Superman on Earth 2 that's about it should have just used brainiac
Funny thing about that movie was the part after they fought confused revived superman, when the steppenwolf teleport appeared behind a building and they all went "oh no, he has got the third mother box", like the writers forgot there was a story and just wrote that in afterwards
It's probably been stated already, but the lightning throwing guy in the flashback was Zeus. Diana said "Even the Gods came to help" or something along those lines, then we see Ares, Zeus, and Athena fighting off Steppenwolf's invasion.
Great movie. Sets up the uniting of the team. DC going in the right direction. Everyone is so impressionable, as soon as someone says ‘its bad’ EVERYONE jumps on the train of hate. This film had a great visual style, super gritty. Characters were fun and slightly humourous (not ridiculous 1 liners EVERY ten seconds like in marvel universe films recently) overall great job. 8/10
It's an entertaining movie, but not great. Some will like it, some won't. Just depend on your expectations and what purpose you're watching a movie for.
It's a 6 or if you're a DC fan a 7. No more no less than that. If Marvel didn't exist this movie would be great. But in comparison it's beneath. With that being said I am very surprised how much Cybrog was integrated into the story and how much of a focal point he was to pushing back the antagonists plan. I thought that actor did the best performance out of all of them and as an avid Aquaman hater I loved Jason Momoa and wanted to see more of him. The final Battle against Steppenwolf was great and did a good job showing how much of a hurdle it was to subdue him before Sup's shows up and with a flick of his finger pretty much defeats him and the day is saved.
Respect ur opinion, but I really liked the movie Itching to watch again. They explained how Stephenwolf was able to find the boxes and so much missed info
I work at a movie theater and the only lady that came to see Justice League at 7 o'clock on Friday told me on her way out "oh my dear, I could have sworn that red gentleman with the sparks and wit was Spider-Man until the very end" so great characterization :|
I love how Adam has a pretty good understanding of the DC lore and so he's confused by the poor and cynical summary of the film by the rest of the crew. It's not a bad movie, but it's definitely a fan service to people who know the lore more thoroughly than just being able to identify major characters.
I dont get to watch your movie podcast all the time, but I just wanted to say im super glad you guys are doing this. quick n dirty video of something you guys are passionate about. Idk how they do view wise, but rock on guys
Jorge Anta I didn't mind knowing. I hope Man of Steel gets a Sequel but I don't know if there's going to be anything now or if they're going to go back to separated movies
Honestly, I think you guys made me more interested in the movie. And if you can downsize the video in the bottom-right that would be great. I find that my attention is almost 50/50 between the discussion and the looping trailers and whatnot, even though you guys should be the main focus.
Hey guys I just want to correct 2 things that james said and it was that the guy throwing the lightning it wasnt related with shazam, it was zeus, he was fighting with artemis and ares in that scene and cyborg had the mother bow because in the video that wonder woman watch in Batman vs Superman it shows hoy cyborg´s father created him with the box... Much love from Mexico guys and Bruce if you love ska you should listen "Panteon Rococo"
The character dev for Cyborg, Flash and Aquaman was horrid. I know they’ll keep doing them but I wouldn’t mind them going back to the drawing board entirely and slow down a bit. They’re trying way too hard to keep up with Marvel and it’s just not gonna happen. Hell this universe has 15 years put into it and DC has a fraction of it, and tried to do their team up movie with literally half their group being largely unknown.
All three of those characters' backstories was established in one-on-one conversations. Cyborg talking with his dad (which was pretty good, got the point across nicely); Flash talking with his dad (not too much, but alright); and Aquaman with Mera (which I thought was really stupid and didn't work, they go through him being the son of the Queen who was abandoned and now needs to claim his rightful place in about 15 seconds, the conversation was odd and didn't flow well)
So I've been going through the comments while listening to "Hard Knock Life" on loop. It's entertaining to not be a stakeholder in an argument that's going on around you.
A lot of your points are just odd, having a go for the sake of having a go. Justice league wasn’t garbage, neither war BvS after a second viewing, but comparing it to Marvel is like apples and oranges. I’m a marvel guy but take it as it is not as it’s no Avengers so it’s shit
I'm pretty sure the flashback fighting off Steppenwolf was going to be the introduction to the movie, and it had dialog initially and not a voiceover - look it up. Would have been a great introduction to the villain, and the backstory.
Hey Funhaus, just to mention, I had a little trouble going through and searching for this podcast on my phone app (Podbean) due to the fact that I didn't know the main title was Filmhaus. I searched 'Funhaus' and it didn't pop up, same with 'Movie Podcast'. You might want to consider adding Filmhaus somewhere in the title or the description?
My family has a tradition of seeing at least one movie together on Thanksgiving Day, and my boyfriend and I were told we were seeing Daddy's Home 2 that night (wasn't the best movie, but we've seen the first one together and of our choices it was the least bad). We got to the theatre and found out dad had switched plans on us (D.H.2 was sold out) so instead we were seeing Justice League, and I haven't experienced that level of frustration and disappointment since I was easily 11/12 years old over something like not getting my way in an argument or getting told that I had to go to bed early or something. We sat through the entire thing and made fun of it. The only important line in the entire movie was how Bruce Wayne claimed that his superpower of simply "being rich" was enough to convince the Flash (who has the most impressive superpowers of anyone in that lame group besides Superman himself; even then Superman is a culturally-immortal proven entity and nothing will ever top him) to join his ragtag group of losers. (P.S. None of these hate comments reflect my thoughts or feelings on Wonder Woman, because she had the only good comic books of them all and I would Die For Her™.)
Fair enough if you don’t like the film, but it feels like your just shitting on the film because you can. Mother box names have been round for decades. I liked it.
5 seconds in and Adam says he hasn't seen the movie that the next 41 minutes are spent discussing. A common theme of these Movie Podcasts is that not all of the participants have seen the movie(s) they're talking about. Shouldn't that be a minimum requirement?
John Janso one person not having seen it can be good since they can ask questions and react to all the shit that they’re hearing about for the first time.
Good reply, it's an interesting thought. My response would be that I don't think it's necessary. Yeah, in this scenario it can be helpful because that person is asking questions you the audience would probably ask too. But if given the choice between that, and a review where everyone's seen the movie and has their own unique take, I'd take the latter. I dunno, to me I just feel like it's lazy. Like, they knew they had to do a Justice League review cuz everyone else has. And it should go without saying, but I really like this channel. I just don't like this series.
That's true. But then why have a person who has nothing to add except "reaction"? Plus, Adam is kinda the de facto "host", of this series, right? Like, does it make a lot of sense to have your host say "This is something near and dear to my heart. I haven't seen it"? Again, I like the conversation, and appreciate the feedback to my comment cuz it's genuinely constructive and not argumentative. I just don't get why Funhaus can have a weekly movie podcast and not have everyone on it see the movie first. I can't think of another movie podcast that does that.
Hey guys, I like how you go in depth on the movie. I watch movies and go like "It was a alright movie", but you see through the stupid/ contradictions that I would miss. I never watched the movie, but I had no intention to. I'm drunk, Love, Moonycast.
So they were pretty spot on except that wonder woman and Batman relationship, no clue where they got that idea from and of course the only thing elyse had to say was praise for any woman on screen
I'm no expert but I'm pretty sure at 9:35 the "lightning guy" James is referring to is literally Zeus. Greek mythology is actually Canon in DC. You guys summed up the Great Value Avengers very well though. I love movie podcast and all Funhaus content
I don't know why, but I really like these movie podcasts. No matter the movie-subject. Love listening to you bantering.
The8347135 I feel the same way. 90% of the time I haven't watched the movie they are discussing, but I enjoy these podcasts too much to wait.
Read the end of your comment too fast and thought instead of bantering you typed batarang.
You're too deep in the Bat-o-verse
Very entertaining

I liked the part where Commissioner Gordon was like “Batman would never kidnap someone. He only murders criminals and security guards.”
Anyone else notice that The Flash runs the same way that Phoebe from Friends does
Didn't notice the entire screen is covered in lighting
man I got a sad Ben Affleck moment while watching Adam this episode
Ive got to admit, the scene where aquaman is making a confession to the group was the best scene of the movie.
That scene, Diana fixing Bruce's shoulder and Clark having a fight with Barry at hyper speed. Those are moments of the movie that make me glad I watched the movie
Naw barry running at superman and superman just watching him is
Does he tell them that any fish stick they eat he knows the mom and dad of, to make them feel bad?
Haha yes! Definitely a Joss Whedon scene.

Notice how James' eyes widen whenever there is a shot of Jason Momoa topless. If you could sum up crippling jealousy in one picture, that would be it.
Aly Millard jealousy? That's a buff man admiring a more buff man. Only buff dudes know this feeling.
Or he’s gay
Aly Millard you got on comment show, nice

What James said. Snyder made half the movie with WB holding a gun to his head saying make the avengers and then hiring Joss to finish it. Which fucks up everything

Its just weird because I was way into the Batman cartoon and Superman as a kid. I kinda just don't care about these characters anymore. Captain America is still the lamest superhero ever. But I see your point. DC characters still rule the comics tho
I'm not saying he is my favorite now or anything, but the movies improved my view of him a little.
Ramon vd Klooster, Marvels shitty business plan turned me away from their comics. But let's be honest Image rains supreme.
At this point, DC is aiming for generic because it'll be better than their last attempts, sans Wonder Woman.
Ramon I agree that he's still lame in Idea. but IMO I think Cap 2-3 were amazing and it made ALOT of people love captain america. ever since avengers and especially cap 2, I've seen so many people start to use Cap America apparel in daily life, something you NEVER see before the MCU.

If anything, Bruce downgraded Barry from "potential forensics friend" like they are in the comics to "father - son"
Plus it was mostly Alfred eluding that Bruce has romantic interest in Diana, egging him on & such, when Bruce holds onto his position on it as "I'm not like that, especially with her!" (Though in the OG JL cartoon, WonderBats was shipped like crazy)
Sumblueguy41 *nerd detected*
ME262MKI *asswipe who likely likes mediocre things & does terribly on his hw all time detected*
Sumblueguy41 keep raging *nerd* 😂
cyborg was created by the motherbox that's how his dad saved him, and how he knew where it was, nothing to do with internet
JCSwarm exactly lol
I honestly think Bruce wasn't paying any attention to the film, which is fine, except it's not great when he's part of a podcast about that film
that part was obviously a joke, because either way the movie glosses over important info such as that. for example they showed cyborg being built in BvS, but in this movie they think he is dead from the explosion despite having already seen him being brought back to life.
Hunter Moreno I got the impression that it was more that the official status of him was decreased but they knew he was just in hiding etc
i thought that as well, but the way they wrote it was just very off putting in my opinion.
Given all the problems this film had throughout production, I'm glad it even managed to reach the heights of "just fine".
There were a couple of great moments too.
Jordan Doyle well yeah thats what a just fine movie is, something with a few great moments but not an overall great movie
Which is a shame considering JL is the most well known superhero team in comics and there's so many fantastic stories they could tell. To see it reduced to a "just fine" movie with some great moments is tragic.
well i dont think a 40% and and average rating of 5.2 is just fine for a movie this big i think average is more suitable for it
That's why James said it feels like watching TMNT 2 again.
Here is a theory about Batman's vision "dream" in BvS, in his dream The flash comes and says "lois lane is the key" and in JL when they bring Superman back to life, he comes back as a different more angry person "because he is confused" then Batman tells Alfred to bring the big gun and they bring "lois lane" then superman calms down so my theory is the vision that batman saw in BvS is an alternative reality "the stuff that would have happened if they didn't brought lois lane when superman was resurrected" he would turn evil and kill the JL then Darkside + Superman would take over the world
Shame that it took a whole other bad movie to explain that stupid scene, and its aggresively unnecessary.
YKmovies the fact that this is a theory and not a plot point in the film is a failure in so many ways
YKmovies "Batard's vision"......, right *nerd detected*
My favorite part was how they show flash is an intellectual by having rick and Morty in the background
Only then show him not knowing where the east and west coast is?
well you see, TheEliteNinja, you have to have a very high IQ to understand the Flash in Justice League...
The batman dream did have an effect because Flash shouting Lois is the key is how batman knew to bring out Lois to stop superman being a dick
Just wanna also say I don't dislike funhaus at all for this video I enjoyed the video it made me laugh I just don't agree with all of what they said I agree it could have been better but a lot of the criticism they made weren't really a thing
Not certain this is pure me speculating but I got the impression that if superman hadn't had his mind brought back that's what would have happened
But Lois just arrives at the scene of her free will. Bruce does not communicate that to her in any way.
Sinpansara no she doesn't she arrives in the limo where I'm pretty sure Alfred is sat next to her. She was the "big gun" he kept talking about
If it requires an extended cut to make the movie understandable, it means it wasn't a good movie and it's a shame people don't get that
Apparently a lot of back story for Cyborg, Aquaman and even Steppenwolf were cut out of the film.
Just hope it's exactly what they wanted, cause Lord knows a fucking riot would commence if it turns out to be WORSE than the Whedon movie. lol
I really liked it and it was enjoyable. Better than BvS, and Suicide Squad. More entertaining than Wonder Woman but not a better made movie than WW.
Eh it wasn’t that bad, I preferred it to Wonder Woman, if anything I’m excited as fuck to see the uncut extended 4hr edition that will probably come out
Dan Lodder I recently saw the bvs ultimate cut can't wait to see what they cut out of this one
James Lopez ehh bvs extended isnt much better. It just clears up plot holes and develops more of clark kents character
4 HOURS???
Mr. CornCob yeah snyders version is 4 hours long uncut
Spoiler
How they handled super man in this movie was my favorite portrayal yet of him because it feels like they finally embraced how absurdly overpowered he is, in other movies he's always getting into punch ups where he doesn't feel like the utterly broken character we know he is.
every time i saw the justice league's trailer in theaters (while watching something else obviously) when aquaman yells "YEAH" i couldnt help but think of bruce doing the james hettfield "yeah" (i forgot from which video) and i laughed outrageously every time. so thanks bruce, every time anyone yells "yeah" in a deep voice now, i think of you impersonating james hettfield
Edit: i do believe it was from a demo disk where you guys played guitar hero metallica but not sure
love ya
The reason I hate new movies is exactly what Elyse said about wonder woman carrying this film.... not because I hate strong women but because they make such a big fucking deal about it.
30:55 what adam is explaining is basically episode 2 of my hero academia when deku runs to save bakugo and all might sees it happen
Was Cyborg's sweatsuit an homage to the Teen Titan's TV show?
Adam, go see the movie. You're the biggest DC fan in the office and you will enjoy it. Yes it is not perfect and there are some dumb parts, but seeing all your favorite characters come together on screen for the first time is awesome.
Yeah, the problem remains that it's just not enough to carry an entire movie.
Those Amber Heard comments aged like fine milk
What's sad is that it was already known that she was full of it when this came out too, ha ha
No they didn't. At least not for people who actually follow the case and don't get their "news" from the bullshit his fans and his bot army spew.
Why was Tyrone's face not over cyborg?
Or anyone's face?
A person can hold the act of jumping off a bridge in high regard, but that doesn't mean you should too.
this may be my favorite episode of the movie podcast yet, good job guys!
Funhaus is my favorite channel and love everything about you guys but very much disagree what all you guys said
Riphade Their mind set going to see this movie was hating it, I mean Adam didn't even see it and said he is the biggest DC fan, BvS and SS were not good movies but WW was amazing and must think oh okay maybe DC movies are going to be good but Adam still had no faith in JL, I liked JL alot I didn't care about the story just wanted to see all characters being badass and coming together, each character was loved and everybody is excited for their movies.
which is fine, to each his own. :)
Except that argument falls flat when everyone agrees that Wonder Woman was a very good movie
The Flash slomo running in this movie looked really bad too. He looks like he's about to fall over the whole time.
Anybody ever remember what happened to that 20 min russian family plot-line? I feel like it went nowhere, maybe I'm wrong
While I agree with their overall consensus, I thought they over exaggerated on some scenes to Adam.
Batman was NOT hiding behind a car when superman was resurrected. Where the hell did they get that?
Superman was angry because:
1. He just came back to life, he’s not going to be back to normal and they even referenced in dialogue that he may not be himself
2. Cyborg accidentally attacked first, Clark was defending himself
3. He’s never met any of them aside from WW who he barely knew
Batman’s smile was far more subdued than what they said here
Batman didn’t want to get w/ WW. Alfred was teasing him. What the hell Elyse? Jk
Batman wanted to bring superman back because he felt guilty over what happened (it was Batman’s fucking fault after all) and he admitted Clark is more human than he is and would lead this team better. Not because they were friends.
I think that was Zeus in that flashback with the lightning but who cares
They're comedians, they were exaggerating for humor at points like that. You can't take Filmhaus too seriously.
They need to let Wes Anderson do an Adam West style Batman movie.
100% agree
Sagertooth It would crush MoS and BvS.
holy shit i would pay money for taht, also if suicide squad was made by Tarantino
After the Flash "I push people away" line was made, I started thinking back on Aquaman and how he just swam away and imagined him saying "I just talk to fish and then swim away". Random.
"Mack Weldon is better than anything you're wearing right now!" But i'm not wearing anything.
I enjoy Adam listening to movie description and being so confused at points.
6.5/10. Could be better if Batman is was serious all the time. The jokes were toned down. Different bad guy. I didn't know who the fuck he was, I know Darkseid.
I thought it was solid, fun, and neat.
Steppenwolf is a pretty big villian... if you know darkseid you should know his lieutenants
Sam R they cut him from the last film
Kyle Cooper shit man I only watched the animated series. Like is he the next big guy next to Darkseid?
Yeah basically, he’s the commander of darkseids army and stuff like that
Kyle Cooper steppenwolf is not a big character the biggest thing he ever did was kill wonder woman and Superman on Earth 2 that's about it should have just used brainiac
Funny thing about that movie was the part after they fought confused revived superman, when the steppenwolf teleport appeared behind a building and they all went "oh no, he has got the third mother box", like the writers forgot there was a story and just wrote that in afterwards
Before I watch: you should have replaced Cyborg's face with Tyrone's.
It's probably been stated already, but the lightning throwing guy in the flashback was Zeus. Diana said "Even the Gods came to help" or something along those lines, then we see Ares, Zeus, and Athena fighting off Steppenwolf's invasion.
Not even Laurence can be arsed to review this movie 😂
Great movie. Sets up the uniting of the team. DC going in the right direction. Everyone is so impressionable, as soon as someone says ‘its bad’ EVERYONE jumps on the train of hate. This film had a great visual style, super gritty. Characters were fun and slightly humourous (not ridiculous 1 liners EVERY ten seconds like in marvel universe films recently) overall great job. 8/10
The biggest sin of this movie is that they didn't model Atlantis after the animated Disney movie
I really don't understand why James just couldn't explain the after credits scene. There were already spoilers going in.
It's an entertaining movie, but not great. Some will like it, some won't. Just depend on your expectations and what purpose you're watching a movie for.
I like Elyse’s little euphemisms.
“You’d have to be draggin your knuckles pretty hard”
Another was that /\ uses all parts of the buffalo
I wish they talked more about flash running. He looks like he's ice skating
Btw on thumbnail. There should be tyrone on cyborg, you fucked it up editor.
M.S.L.corp my thoughts exactly
Idk where you'd talk about it but Id like to know if you guys watched The Punisher Netflix series and what you thought about it
Respect ur opinion, but I really liked the movie Itching to watch again.
Seeing them all bash on the movie hard and leaving Adam disheartened to see it is kind of a bummer. Just watch it, the movie was alright
2:51 - I'm dragging my knuckles so damn hard that I didn't even know Superman was supposed to be dead.
Binge "The Punisher" instead.
I liked it, but it was more of a spy thriller than a hyper-violent vigilante show
More fighting in dark hallways and down at the docks? No thanks
I like Daredevil season 2's the punisher arc more than The Punisher..
O D
Not sure what you watched but it certainly wasn’t punisher. To each their own.
I was far more excited when I found out this review was happening than when I found out the movie was happening xD
I thought Suicide Squad was bad but I liked Justice League so... you can like one without the other.
i wanna hear what Adam and Lawrence has to say about this movie. PART II!!
I liked it. Superman was the best part of the movie for me (Spoiler Alert?)
He was alright, but the CGI was some of the worst i have ever seen in a blockbuster movie
The CVR123 well if you seen the ending of BVS it was kinda of obvious he was gonna survive
Jorge Anta I didn't mind knowing. I hope Man of Steel gets a Sequel but I don't know if there's going to be anything now or if they're going to go back to separated movies
they're going back to separated movies, and man of steel 2 is happening
Bad Wolf I mean separated to the point of the DCEU not being a thing
Honestly, I think you guys made me more interested in the movie. And if you can downsize the video in the bottom-right that would be great. I find that my attention is almost 50/50 between the discussion and the looping trailers and whatnot, even though you guys should be the main focus.
Before the first 5 minutes... Bruce and James are already mocking it.
I waited a long time to watch it... I actually yawned several times. Ohh well.
The connection I made from the dream scene in BvS is when flash says Lois is the key. So then Bats knew to bring Lois to stop evil supes.
Liked it, but would love to see the 3 hour cut. I liked BvS a lot more tho.
I demand Air Bud!
I liked it.
Film House it’s a stupid fucking name
21:53 GUYS. I had no idea The Myscira was actually "Themyscira".
honestly, the wonder woman movie is pretty bad
Its not as good as the media says it is.
Iñaki Iribarren true
i wouldnt say its bad, but i didnt like it, to me wonder woman was too childish for a movie about world war
cavs200 i thought justice league was better than wondertits
Iñaki Iribarren no it isn’t lmao
Hey, you guys should really put these podcasts on iTunes along with your normal podcast
I agree with the potato
Good reply, it's an interesting thought. My response would be that I don't think it's necessary. Yeah, in this scenario it can be helpful because that person is asking questions you the audience would probably ask too. But if given the choice between that, and a review where everyone's seen the movie and has their own unique take, I'd take the latter.
I dunno, to me I just feel like it's lazy. Like, they knew they had to do a Justice League review cuz everyone else has. And it should go without saying, but I really like this channel. I just don't like this series.
John Janso, but you do have the different takes since there are three other people who have seen the film.
