I used to go lamping with the long dogs Lurchers we used to have 30 a night poaching, I will tell you all a great place for rabbits Crickhowell just take the first turning off, the first turning back from Abergavenny the first field in that turning we had some bunnies there. Then we used to go hare coursing with the lamp poaching up in Leominster good times, with the boys some of them are in their late 60’s now, some have recently passed on sadly, we had some great fun though times I will always remember .

I could NOT stand anywhere on that farm if you were doing this! I absolutely hate rats, dead or alive but your dogs are doing a really good job! Many years ago, when I was about 8, our golden retriever caught an enormous brown rat at our commercial greenhouses. He got bitten on the nose and found the rat too big to kill so my brother had to finish the rat off with a spade. Ever since then I’ve hated the sight of any.

My whippet and GSP loves ratting, and their mom loves hunting with them. Despite my fear of rats, I actually get excited doing this with them.
