For its time, this film was a great effort at realism, involving character flaws, jealousy, relationships, and the ever present danger. I give it AOK!
Thank you sooo much. I remembered this movie from when I was a kid and was always trying to find out which movie it was. Real distinctive name “War Between the Planets”. I knew it was something like that. I always remembered the “planet” with the arteries that were self-healing. And the catastrophic effects on the Earth. Have no idea what I thought at the time, but was (obviously) fascinated by the “wild planet”. They didn’t even try to communicate with it or find out anything about it before blowing it up. This brings back the childhood memories. Back then this was so believable, high tech movies. Laying on the floor in front of the TV with a huge bowl of dry Cherrios. Then the Twilight Zone and Outer Limits came later. Best you could get. Well, back then anyway.

War between the Planets is the third in the Gamma 1 space film series, The fourth is Snow Devils! 1. Wild Wild Planet 2. War of the Planets 3. War Between the Planets 4. Snow Devils Google 😊👍✌
Love old scifi like this. Those three guys floating around in space are being "tossed about like leaves in the wind." When one guy jumps off the station he looks like he's swimming. I love it!
To me this one is better than most. I thought it funny as hell that the lab coats buttoned from the back with like 20 buttons. Great movie and thanks for sharing.
I've literally been searching for this movie for 50 years. I remember seeing it with my family at the Delancy St. Theater in the 70's I didn't know the name of it. I just remembered the living planet with the vains...Thank you so much ❤❤❤❤
Wow...just WOW! Thank you so much for this treasure! It's so seldom that I find a good, classic, cheeky sci fi movie that I've never seen before. I just wish I had the bots with me to enjoy it even more!
I have to tell you, for back in the day this film was well done and expensive! It may look cheap by today's huge budgets and CGZi, but this was almost state of the art back then. And it was an Italian production! This was huge for them!
Interesting Italian interpretation of interstellar interests. Fun way to spend an hour and note the similarities with other Scifi flicks like even though there is no gravity nor any atmosphere to slow you down, everyone moves in slow motion when in space; or the roominess of rockets and space stations! Cheesy as expected so I loved it-thanks for posting.
I like the quaint little wobble the space station had as it serenely rotated in space. And Commander Rod Jackson looks like he could be an early version of Ace Rimmer.
My hubby was an electronic Tech and he would laugh cause he remembers all the large buttons, knobs and round screens. I saved his old 1950’s ham radio and big antenna and mic. I know he would be chuckling at this. Plus this is in color.
At first, I thought this was a documentary... and I was terrified! But finally, at the end, I saw the credits and realized this is just a movie. Thank goodness! Really had me fooled there!
This fine Italian scifi movie features the most realistic space walk scenes ever put on film! The scenes reflect the little known fact that gravity is variable and causes back and forth motion (in space) as well as arms and legs drooping while the ass is elevated above the astronauts somewhat weightless body. The best of the best.
for its time it seemed still enjoyable but I'm a fossil for the classic sci fi movies I guess, decent enough acting the characters seemed convincing, a regular little gem of a movie.
Less than 3 minutes into the movie, and I like it. Everybody knows that the city was a small scale model, but strangely enough, that's what captivated me about other Italian sci fi films in the '60s. If I'm correct, the officer who said that he wants to fight it with his bare hands, he's going to be absorbed by the planetoid. Yeah, yeah, I've seen this one before, but it's something to watch on Thanksgiving.

To be fair, the choppers were on earth; the spacecraft took off to the space station. People were walking around in normal clothing. Interesting point was how, back in those days, spacecraft were aerodynamic. A spacecraft doesn’t need to be aerodynamic to “fly” in a vacuum.

David G. David, why don't you believe in God? Was there some incident in your past that caused you to reject God's love? What is it that causes you to not believe in God?
Nope, nothing ever happened to cause me to reject what you call god. I never believed right from the start. My parents made all the kids in the family go to catacism (however it's spelled) classes after school and church on Sunday and it did nothing to or for me. I didn't believe any of it. The stories from the bible are just too unbelievable and in my opinion, obviously impossible, ever to have happened and there's no proof of any of them. There's no proof off anything religious. It's all based on faith and I go for facts not beliefs and nothing over the years has changed that.
Science will provide you plenty of proof that there is a God. For example: The arrival of living organisms is biochemically impossible if the biochemistry was not directed by an intelligence. Amino acids, which make up all protein structures, would need to be in a specific sequence for a protein to develop. There is no way that nature could control this specific sequence of amino acid placement. The chance for error in placement is very stong, and the chance for accidentally getting the right amino acid in each position along the evolving chain of amino acids is so unlikely, that the probability of chance chemical actions on this evolving amino acid chain (called a polypeptide) is so low as to be considered impossible. And that's just to make one protein. Each cell has many, many proteins. And since nature cannot do it, an intelligence is required. Ergo, God is necessary for the arrival of life. If you can't accept the Bible as telling the truth about God, will you accept science?
Please don't take this the wrong way but what a pile of poo. All you're doing is giving your own idea for why things happen and how they came about. There is absolutely no definitive proof in anything you said...just conjecture. Why couldn't nature do all those things you stated? What exactly are the limitations of nature and how did you find them out? I would like some facts here, not beliefs, assumptions or presumptions.
