- At the end of the Second World War, there was a notorious and young female guard who worked inside of Auschwitz and Bergen-Belsen who was led towards the gallows for her execution. Irma Grese was in her early 20s when she was executed for her crimes, and she was known as 'The Hyena of Auschwitz.' She was a torturer, a beast and a brute who would take the lives of prisoners whenever she wanted, and she was known for beating and battering prisoners with her weapons. But what made her such a monster?

He was a test pilot and successfully took a rocket plane into the sky and landed it without blowing himself up. He only died recently. I didn’t know he was an interrogator as well or that he spoke fluent German and spoke to Grese.

Lol beautiful has to be taken into context. Compared to Herta Bothe and many of the other female guards, who looks like a 6’5 mountain man, she is attractive.

Woods stated that he was an experienced hangman, which turned out to be a lie. He never executed anyone before these executions. Pierrepoint however had ample experience. He did the executions providing dignity and a quick death.

My grandmother was an Aufseherin. She was freund of Irma Grese and said she was very nice farm girl who has been badly misrepresented. She trained with Irma Grese and other girls at Ravensbrück and they served together at Auschwitz-Birkenau before Irma went to Belsen. Oma was clever and fled the kamp before the end and blended with refugees and taking another name, so she survived. So very lucky, ja. Lived to be age 92. You must remember many of the SS Aufseherinnen were naive working class girls who thought they were doing their duty and it wast difficult task indeed. So, they should not be so harshly maligned. As for the pieces, there was not enough food to give them and had to be euthanized to prevent hardship. Some of them were unruly and that's when cane or whip had to be employed to maintain order, unfortunately, so it is not as evil as they say. Anyway, these were horrible times, and it is regrettable it all happened. If born in different time and place they would have had ordinary lives.

She, as with others, have that cold empty look. Doesn't matter if it's male or female look at their faces when they do these types of crimes. Even those supposed mothers that kill their children, there's just an empty, hard, evil look on their faces. They say eyes are windows to the soul and i for one believe that.

I think she was evil bit. If you look for enough pictures, you'd see a few where she was attractive. I wouldn't say beautiful. At least not by today's standards. Maybe in Europe in the 40s, she may have been considered but not by me!

I suspect so. They wanted revenge and got it. She was pretty much a failure at everything except being a concentration guard. She probably did deserve the death penalty. I often wonder if these people had a clue what would happen to them when Germany inevitably lost the war. I always wonder what they were thinking was going to be their future.
