i saw this at my school last semester! my friends and i were in our club meeting and all of a sudden we heard shouting! we checked to see what was going on and found a man and his two sons i think stomping and shouting just like this! we were so confused, but they were performing for our international festival. it's nice to finally understand what was going on! thanks for the post
lazusaq61 sagol cok tsk ediyorum yorumun icin ama yinede onlarda sonucda karadenizi temsil eden arkadaslarimiz bence hersey güzeldi onlarda ozaman yeniydiler bukadar yine iyi oynadilar. ben orda kemence calan. kemenceyi begendin icin tekrar tsk ediyorum. saygilar kemenceci Aydin Akyol
@progonolatreia ...... And i am glad to see that the greek Horon is preserved and danced by turks too. No matter what, no matter how, the moslim pontians consider themselves "turks". The fact that they once were greek speaking rumi(that would make them "greeks' today), just raises feelings of affection and not hatred towards them...
yes it is a greek word. you also dance "tsiftetelli" the word means double stringed in turkish,"hasapiko", kasap means butcher in turkish" and etc. etc. we lived together at least for 1000 years. it's very normal.
arkadaslar ayaginiza saglik kulturumuzu yassattiginiz icin ayrica saul ama Akcaabat horonu boyle oynanmaz figurleri tam iyi yapamiyonuz akcaabat durusu yok.
As you all see the culture of the black sea (pontos/karadeniz) people is one. The fashion of nations had to divide them in Turks (the moslim ones) and Greeks (the christian ones)... and the pain started... simple as that brothers...
MY dear greek friends, even you are right about greek orijin of people in blacksea it does not matter. you look at the issue from wrong side. yes we turks descend from many public from anatolia and also central asia. We do not regret that as you always regret that some of you have also turkish orijin. Millions of turkish came from anatolia used to speak and write turkish by using greek alphabets which we say KAraman Turks. The only difference was their religion. Ortodox Turkish...
just made research about kemence, you can see kemence in china,in kazakhstan,in uzbekstan and Turk belong to that family. if you say "kemence is greek" people may laugh at you.and i politely remind you pontian and Turkic people lived almost 800 year side by side, search "culture alliance"
@progonolatreia @progonolatreia to start with, i am against any aggressive attitude towards cultures, nations, peoples. But yes, just the fact that the word "horon" is greek, indicates a lot. The word is still there, simply because the now "turks" of Pontos, were once rumi, who became turks, just because they were converted into moslims. The fact also my friend, is, that religion was all that mattered then,to have the distinction between greeks and turks. Not the origin, not the race...
Go and read something about these ortodox turkish. They were deported as they were not muslim. of course that was stupid. Many greek became muslim during ottoman period because of the tax advantages. You also deported these people with greek orijin as they were muslim during exchange of people in 1920's. It does not matter we have several descendats. that is our richness. we are not faschist as some of you. We are proud of being such a rich culture. that s what we are. The TURK...
This is a turkish AKCAABAT HORON- dance not greek pontus or whatever!!!!!, Its turkish and its not that turks has taken this dance culture from greeks . This video is a dance video its not about pontos rumi, religons, history or politics. So stop nagging that everything comes from you and everybody is taken from you like you own this world. and at last but not least please give upe the idea that all people in anatolia before turks were all greek. that s stupit. Turkish came to anatolia in several periods. not only one thousands ago. Before that time turks also used to came here such as iskits and also little groups. these people were not muslim and they all become ortodox cristian. Today you think they were greek. They were called "rum" means Roma. and some of them assimilated as the national identitiy were not very strong.
ALSO, if you want to see cultural interaction, you should look at your zeybetiko. And please go and learn what Zeybek is. You have a good historry. Aristo, platon, socrat and etc contributed extremely richness to human thinking. You do not have to belittle other culture in order to be honorable. We do not also need your approval or idiot humiliation trying in order to get what or who we are. We have also a great history too. that is a kinda useless triying man. give it up...
