I had never stumbled upon Sulphur Aeon before, but I am so fucking happy I finally did. As a Lovecraft and metal fan they fill perfectly that spot, with atmospheric rifts suited for the theme, amazing vocals and lyrics, oozing with cosmic dread. The Outer Gods would be really pleased with this music if they heard it.

@Luka K. I'm not talking about sales and such, I'm merely referring to journo's giving props where they're truly earned. So far, of "larger" publications, I've only seen No Clean Singing waiting long enough for Sulphur Aeon to get the chance to feature on any year-end list. It's really just about me feeling like these guys should be much more recognized. I'm 100% sure that most fans of anything other the most mainstream Death Metal bands, will pick this up. (I do agree that they should stay on a smaller label, for my own selfish reasons)
@Luka K. It's all cool. I just feel like SA gets overlooked a lot, and I feel it's a disservice to the fantastic music they create. But it's a bit of a "whatever" situation as I'm extremely happy that at least I get to listen to it, and so does all of my friends that actually listen to my recommendations. lol And just to be clear; the longer SA is off of Metalsucks' radar, the better. @Luka K. As do I. I love hard electronic music which is where I actually really like Doom. (Doomcore that is) I also listen to classic, Hip-Hop (but mostly oldschool), Trance, Retrowave/Outrun as well as of course a bunch metal sub genres.
This is absolutely mind-blowing. I have been a fan of Sulphur Aeon since their first album, and this album yet again shows just how awesome this band is. It is really a masterpiece, I can't stop listening to it! I'll definitely buy this album next week.
I didn't think they'd be able to top Gateway to the Antisphere, but somehow they did just that with this album and their songwriting has just gotten better and better every album. Seriously one of the best modern Death Metal bands, never disappoint.

Imagine declaring AOTY before hearing this masterpiece, definitely a shame it came out so close to the end of the year because it is only going to get a fraction of the attention it deserves now. However, I've listened to 50+ albums this year and never have I made an easier choice for AOTY after hearing this one. Absolute masterpiece.

Do order the other albums as well, then. The artwork is far better on the previous two records, some of the most beautiful album covers ever! And the music of course is sublime as well.

Excellent music. I wonder, what genre is it? I believe it is black metal, but I have no idea what really makes black metal, or how to identify it beyond my personal feeling of "yeah, that sounds like black metal to me".
@@saemi941 Yeah, same Genre as Behemoth, Belphegor and Dissection. Black Metal atmosphere and lots of blast beats + tremolo picking, but combined with Death Metals groovier riffing and Song Structure. Vocals are also often growlier, not only hoarse, high screams.

Only downside to this is that it won't get the recognition it deserves from various publications and so on, because it came out this late in the year. Fucking amazing work yet again!
@Luka K. I'm not talking about sales and such, I'm merely referring to journo's giving props where they're truly earned. So far, of "larger" publications, I've only seen No Clean Singing waiting long enough for Sulphur Aeon to get the chance to feature on any year-end list. It's really just about me feeling like these guys should be much more recognized. I'm 100% sure that most fans of anything other the most mainstream Death Metal bands, will pick this up.
(I do agree that they should stay on a smaller label, for my own selfish reasons)
@Luka K. It's all cool. I just feel like SA gets overlooked a lot, and I feel it's a disservice to the fantastic music they create. But it's a bit of a "whatever" situation as I'm extremely happy that at least I get to listen to it, and so does all of my friends that actually listen to my recommendations. lol

@Luka K. As do I. I love hard electronic music which is where I actually really like Doom. (Doomcore that is) I also listen to classic, Hip-Hop (but mostly oldschool), Trance, Retrowave/Outrun as well as of course a bunch metal sub genres.

This is absolutely mind-blowing. I have been a fan of Sulphur Aeon since their first album, and this album yet again shows just how awesome this band is. It is really a masterpiece, I can't stop listening to it! I'll definitely buy this album next week.
I didn't think they'd be able to top Gateway to the Antisphere, but somehow they did just that with this album and their songwriting has just gotten better and better every album. Seriously one of the best modern Death Metal bands, never disappoint.

Imagine declaring AOTY before hearing this masterpiece, definitely a shame it came out so close to the end of the year because it is only going to get a fraction of the attention it deserves now.

For sure there is a nile-ish vibe which per se ist a good reminiscence to me.

It's Blackened Death Metal. A mix of Black and Death.
@@saemi941 Yeah, same Genre as Behemoth, Belphegor and Dissection. Black Metal atmosphere and lots of blast beats + tremolo picking, but combined with Death Metals groovier riffing and Song Structure. Vocals are also often growlier, not only hoarse, high screams.
