Hello, my friend. First of all, many thanks for Miss Izzy for honouring us with her presence! Now, on the campaign map, the push brought us Isenrun, which is very good to have. This means that you made the first step towards splitting Rohan in two, thus getting the outer ring of it, before pushing inwards. As I see it, it's better to hit towards Foldburg now, where you'll stop and then you'll have the opportunity to turn back a bit, so as to claim Derwath and Gynd. The first is a Castle, thus important as a recruitment hub for your forces. The fact that Glirhuin joined you is very good, since he can be at the lead of the defense in Foldburg along with Menthar (he's a pike general, thus very useful against cavalry attacks, and Rohan is a cavalry faction, on his hand Menthar is an archer general) and Yagthak and Taraghlan can mop up with some more units Derwath and Gynd. Keep on producing pikes and spears, they are your most useful troops at the moment. Don't neglect economy, but also have some military infrastructure built in Barad Vin and Heorot, at least the basic one, because you might need them. I remind you that after this, your frontier with Enedwaith will be big, offering you multiple points of attack, but you will have a big area to defend, thus it's very useful to have something at hand. Now, of the split barracks, I am not sure if Isenrun is a Rohan province, I think it's not. If in the barracks line you can find any Rohirric unit, then opt for the Frekkalingir barracks, otherwise go for the Dunhird one. I am of the opinion that you will go on the Dunhird one, though. Foldburg is a proper Rohirric town, thus there you can go for the Frekkalingir. Have a nice time, both of you!
The cantabrian circle was an antiquity/early medieval horse skirmisher tactic born in spain against rome, it takes its name from the cantabri tribe in the mountaineous north of iberia. The point was primarily to harass (duh) ennemy infantry without being counter charged due to the horse momentum (you don't need time accelerating if you're already moving) but also to disorganize them and make them charge prematurely, it also offered missile protection since a moving target is way harder to hit than a mobile one. One half of the corcle was outside bow range and the other half within range allowing the archer to cycle in and out in for a constant stream of arrows It's like parthian shot (fake retreat then charge overextended ennemy) except safer and way more tiresome, also required more space to perform.
Moments of the video : - Miss Izzy to Mr Izzy SPECIFICALLY : you don't know the perspective of small people ... - the lone spearman from Rohan running back to the town square : Guys ? Guys ?! We've got a situation ...
Miss Izzy has studied the tactics of Primarch Dorn I see: "The time for speeches is done,’ said Dorn. "The first great test is here. My order to you all is simple, yet heed it well, and exert yourselves to see it done. They are coming. *_Kill them all._* " -From "The Lost and the Damned", Siege of Terra series
Let's Go Miss Izzy! personally i don't see much appeal to Dunland/Anduin Vale/Enedwhaigth(?) as faction in general because it feels half-assed(not the units and everything else but the idea of the campaign, personally if you want to be evil pick one of the monster factions or the actually evil men faction or Ardunaim), but i'm enjoying this campaign much more than i thought, i might actually try to play them once, you've made me interested in them
Man, I'm so happy you're back. I am currently in Greece on my first vacation in nigh on 1,5 years, perfect timing to enjoy this new campaign. Thank you for all your effort and your epic content!
Keep it coming! Love your videos buddy! The very 1st battle you fought outside of Duneard - When you set up your archers, why not set up loose formation (reduce # of casualties from Rohan archers). You had 4 pikes & a ton of clansmen. Your pike line can stretch a little wider without any issues, and still be that thick defensive line against calvary, lol
Hello Izzy! Great episode:) A strategy I ran with in my last Dunland campaign, was blitzing to Foldburg and Helms Deep, and then trading with Saruman, giving him Foldburg. Rohan does not consider Isengard as an "enemy" and will not take it back. So the only official border you will have with them is Helms Deep, and you can either focus on Enedwaith or Bree from there. It's a bit cheesy, but it gives you valuable time to consider which foes you want to conquer.
I was so mad when you forgot Ered Luin, my favourite faction, I couldn't even comment on it last episode. If you fancy a Ered Luin challenge, one I made myself is called grudgebearer. Reject the rings (good path) but break all alliances and trade agreements like you choose the Evil path. Only faction in Eriador you can befriend is Bree, and if Arnor forms that must end. Hobbit friends only basically. As a Dwarf you hold a grudge against the great enemy, Orks and whoever commands them in simple terms, and also Elves. Picking the good path gives you access to the elven Marines, and well, head canon wise they are not volunteers. An extra challenge as you arguable get the weaker unit, no rings of power and no extra Unique general. Plus war with everyone to counter being safe in the corner. Alliances and trade ends on the same turn as if you chose the evil path. Again Bree being the one and only exception in Eriador specifically, as Arnor/Aragorn will side with the High Elves.
At long lass, this war is no longer an defensive one, with my kinsmen having to react to every raiding force that Rohan would send after our people. Our great king Yagthak lead a force of brave men to take the fight to the men of horses. Twice were we intercepted by Rohan's forces, likly meant to hold and secure the borders, but their ends were swiftly met by the hands of men from Dunaland. At long last we saw the city of Isenrun and our men fell upon it's walls with fury and blood-lust. Trapped in their very own walls, the Horsemen were of no use and much of the fighting was hand-to-hand and Man-to-Man, an honorable type of battle that Rohan could stand no chance in. Striking down the last man and claiming the city for ourselves, we soon found an army at our newly reapired gates. If we can hold in the coming battle, Rohan will be on the back foot. The taking of Isenrun signaled our greatness across the lands and finally the stubborn men of the Clan of the Boar have taken up their arms in our cause, At long last the Wulfsguard serve the Wulf line. Our armies shall soon tear though the lands of Rohan and we shall not let anyone, even Gondor stop us this time. The blood of our ancestors shall be avenged and our forefathers might sleep in peace.
In terms of movement speed of units EUR devs kinda messed with the balance, so maybe that's the reason you're having a hard time moving away from the rohirrim. Also for that reasoning, I do not advise you to start war with the elves because they are by far the fastest faction I've seen
>he just got up >mrs Izzy joining ummm this implies you slept together???? i thought this was a chrisitian youtube channel? no premarital boinking guys! IZZY PUT A RING ON IT
I love this game but often am too busy to play. Thank you for giving me great videos to watch while I'm stuck at work. Would be nice to see maybe a random stream of you playing napoleon's total war as Belgium and see how far you can get.
Well, that's a nice suprise to hear Miss Izzy! Hope she has enjoyed your slaughterin :P Regarding your campaign, I suggest taking Derwath and leaving Gynd for now. Taking that will make you border Gondor, and as you said, both of you don't have much love for eachother. And since you're the human player, Gondor will start sending troopt to you. If you leave Gynd for Rohan, they might send armies, but Gynd is underdeveloped, and not a real threat, as when you're bordering Gondor, you might face some better troops. Derwath is a castle and will form a nice line of defense, unlike Gynd. As with your economy, farms do really well indeed, as the grow your population and with it your taxes. The new general you're training should serve as governor in one of your more developed cities, as it will boost its income more than the front line towns. Dun Larach or Byrig are the better options in my opinion. For now, keep up the good work, and looking forward to the next episode!
Great to see Miss Izzy supporting her Warlord. :D But I'll have to cancel your membership to the Basement Dork Association, no more free tickets to "Dorks -R-Us" e
Freca needs to move out of Heorot ASAP, custom generals cannot be wasted (i think a unit of bandits can hold PO). Also, did you transfer the Herbalist ancillary from Menthar to Yagthak? Very interesting to see how this plays out - you've reached the point where most Let's Plays as Dunland in v. 5.0 stumble hard, as players get swarmed hard and are forced into endless Isenrun defenses. Glad to have you back!

Not a big fan of the new Dunland symbol tbh, it looks like it's misaligned so the bird got cropped out.
I agree, i kind of liked the other icons better in general
