NGA ATOIBA THONGBA / MANIPURI FISH CURRY

INGREDIENTS
1kg barramundi, cut into bite size pieces
1/2 cup cooking oil
1 tsp cumin seeds
1 tsp fenugreek seeds
3 small bay leaves
1/2 of a large onion, sliced
60g of chopped garlic chives
1 tbsp of crushed hooker chives root
1 and 1/2 tbsp of crushed ginger&garlic
5 green chillies, slit lenghwise
1 tsp of chopped wild orange rind / malanesian papeda
1 pinch of asafoetida, soaked in a tbsp of water
1 large tomato, chopped
1 large potato, cut into small cubes
1 cup of frozen green peas
3/4 tsp of ground turmeric
1 tsp of ground red chilli
2 tsp of roasted cumin and coriander seeds, roughly crushed
1 and 1/2 tbsp of crushed chilli
2 tbsp of roasted gram flour
1 tsp of meat masala (ready made, available in any Indian grocery store )
some chopped coriander leaves
