What an absolute beauty of a build. The idea of the two splinters narrowing towards the handle in order to be able to bend properly with the tiller is nothing short of magic, and being able to use shorter wood stock for the two splinters is fantastic for people like me who live in dry areas where trees are normally small and twisted (almost impossible to find natural wood that's straight enough for a longbow-style bow). The execution is also gorgeous and the rawhide joints seem to work fantastic and snap into place rather quickly. Really, thank you for uploading this build, it's majestic.
It’s certainly way easier to find smaller sections of wood. In fact I think you could just split a small diameter branch or trunk into two pieces and use those. I’d like to give that a try sometime.
Really interesting, thanks for sharing! 😃
