Thanks for making and sharing this excellent video of your tramp with your dad. Brings back memories from more than 30 years ago when my husband and I walked the same route. That killer descent down to Lock Maree. Avoided the very high three wire by fording the chest deep water. Back then there was a row boat at Supper Cove to take out and catch dinner. I don't remember windfalls but definitely getting stuck in thigh deep mud in the Spey valley. Our son, who looks to be about your age, keeps dropping hints......but so far I'm not convinced I want to repeat it! Hats off to your dad!

I have had the privilege to work in Fiordland... we cut 46 ks of track on Resolution Island...its hard but toughens you up....theres nothing easy in Fiordland but it rewards you in so many ways, an absolute real world wilderness. Well done you guys.

Thanks for sharing! Did you make a gear list that you took with you? Anything you wish you took? Anything you didn't use?

No worries, glad you enjoyed! In terms of what gear we took, nothing special to be honest- just standard tramping gear. The sandfly headnets were quite useful and a good raincoat is a must. No, nothing we didn't use, but we were definitely quite thoughtful about every item we included as every item had to be carried a long way! I hope that helps😊 if you have any more questions feel free to ask.

Why the awful Scottish "music" from the Proclaimers?
