That's what I like about the movie! Steve and Fran break up naturally after finally realizing they've outgrown each other, and there's no actual cheating involved with Mary. Of course it's a romcom and jumping into a relationship with Mary after years with Fran probably isn't ideal in the real world, but it's cute in romcom world! Anyways, yeah, I appreciate that they didn't fumble the bag with Steve and Frans relationship like they could have

Easily one of the best romantic comedies ever made. They're acting was just incredible. I laughed, cried, felt angry and sad. All of the emotions. That is only possible and a great film with great actors.
This part always makes me cry... What wonderful acting from both of them. I will always love this movie.
When Mary said that she knew in her gut that her ex-fiance still loved his ex-girlfriend, that got me. If a person knows in her/his gut that this marriage isn't right, walk away. And Wendy throwing Mary her bridal shower is another red flag. If your fiance's ex is throwing you, a shower, an engagement party, etc, it's clear that she still has feelings for him!!! God bless!!
One of the few times where the main (to be) couple fall for each other without actually getting physical, and I appreciate that. They respected the significant other and didn't cross that line, which is cliche. Of course, this may count as emotional cheating.
I agree, and I appreciated not having to skip a scene where things get too physical 😄.
It's funny how that happens. You meet someone new, and as happy and excited as you are, it can trigger memories from your previous heartbreak. I started tearing up on a date once because of that; I felt really bad.

This movie is supposed to teach people to NOT homewreck. There was an attraction yeah sure but she stayed away and tried to throughout the movie but Fran kept pushing them together and he had a moment of weakness that made him realize that he simply just doesn't love Fran anymore
