So join us on this serene journey as we rediscover the magic of hockey cards from a bygone era, reveling in the simple pleasures of nostalgia and the thrill of the hunt.
This started my card collecting journey. When I was 6, I went to a garage sale and bought a huge box of hockey cards (mostly proset/score). Kept me busy for hours, days, and, ultimately sprung into years of collecting fun. Will always have a soft spot for this set/early 90s
Although the first sets I bought were Marvel Cards when I was little... the first FULL box of cards I remember opening was Pro Set because it was like $5 at the discount store. I just liked opening packs.. so tons of the junk era is burned into my memory. For a little kid with pocket change the MVP sets were also amazing.
I have a box of this waiting to be opened! 💪😁🤘
How long have you been hanging on to it?
A little bit, I have a ton of retro packs and boxes!
Sucks that these pro sets are considered junk. The first boxes I ever bought. Before that was the late 80s, 7/11 singles, which I don't really remember. I was like 6-7.
Oh wow no way! Were the 7-11 cards sold in sealed packs or were they team sets? If you remember.
@LotsToUnpack the 80s ones were in sealed packs with the gum that I'm 100% positive i ate. Lol
Oh man I remember the gum in the wax packs. It was like the only way to convince my mom to get the cards. I wanted gum, but this one comes with cards so… it’s a great package deal right? LoL
@LotsToUnpack I had a 7/11 pretty close by in a pretty safe neighborhood. My friends and I would walk the 8-minute journey. Unbonoced to her, we'd walked on the train tracks. It was the most direct way. Sounds like a movie. Lol
Oh man I can see that! One day on the journey you find a duffle bag full of cash! LoL
