knapping is something that has always interested me but intimidated me as well. I like your statement "It's not wasted if it is learning"

+Far North Bushcraft And Survival Thanks for watching! It takes some getting use to for sure, and I still don't have it down all the way. LOL! Definitely an art form. You should try this if you get a chance, very satisfying stuff. Thanks again.

this is a very good shill to learn, tried it once or twice on some flint and just ended up with a pile of small rocks, going to have to give it another go, read your comments about using glass bottles this sounds interesting will have to try that , thanx for sharing.

+ba survival (basurvival) I seem to end up with a pile of small flakes and broke work piece most of the time. LOL! Yeah, bottle glass works good, is free and everywhere. Good luck with the knapping, hope you try soon! Thanks for watching!! -Red Shadow

Cool, I never tried any of that before. I know it takes a lot of practice to get good. No flint, or obsidian around me but I saw a guy doing the same procedure to broken beer bottles and making arrowheads out of 'em. We got a lot of those around here! What area of Georgia are you in?

+Carolina Chris Outdoors Thanks for watching!! Yeah, I've used bottle bottoms, they are good, free learning material. I have no good flint in my area, just tons of Quartz I learned on, and is the local material the native people used. This stuff is very addictive. I hope you will try a bottle point one day! Good channel for flint knapping!! Thanks again!! - Red Shadow

Where did you get the obsidian? Did you find it or buy it? That was fun to watch

+Lazy Man Prepper I had to buy this, said I never would. LOL! No Obsidian in Ga., but there is lots of native Quartzite I normally work with. I will be posting another stone tool series, using Quartzite in the near future. Thanks for watching!!
