12 years ago I found this video and sent it to the girl I am spending the rest of my life with. It's kept us close, just this past Christmas she made me a framed picture of those two. It is the best Christmas gift I have ever received.
ENDING EXPLAINED: If you pause at 1:07 you can see they use opposite hands for drawing. so she uses her right, and he uses his left! that's why she gave him her hand!
I'm 22 years old right now and I remember watching this film when I was just a wee sensitive little 12 year old girl. I was straight up traumatized by seeing a severed cartoon catgirl hand in a box and, even though this was meant to be sweet, your film has haunted me for nearly 11 years now, Mike.

this video popped into my head today as i used to watch it over and over when I was younger not long after it was released. It still makes me cry to this day. Such emotion to be brought out by what some may believe to a "simple animation with no spoken words". It expresses so much and is so relateable especially for those who care so much to just be around the person they love and enjoying their company.
its sad to not see it with its beautiful original audio. I remember how it made me cry and how obsessed i was with the song after that. Too bad YT was like "Nah", cause Cherish works just so beautifly
wow. just wow. I'm almost crying because of this, it's just so amazing. I don't know why but whenever I saw it in my recommended videos I always skipped over it until today.
See kids? This is what happens when you punch an unbreakable wall of glass. Your arm get's cut off then someone cuts off her/his own arm and now both of you have cutted arms. I hope you're happy with yourselves.
15 years later and this animation and story still live rent free in my mind. A beautiful and touching piece that will continue to remain with me until I leave this world. Thank you.
well if you watch the video missing Halloween, she is in the missing children list, meaning she might as well be dead. maybe that's the arm of her dead body
This video hits so close to my heart because I can relate to it so much. I know how it feels to love someone who is far away from me, who I can only communicate with through a screen, who I can never touch or hug or kiss. It’s like there is an invisible barrier between us that prevents us from being truly together. The animation is so beautiful and expressive, showing the emotions of the characters without any words. The music is also very fitting, creating a mood of sadness, longing, and hope. The way they draw each other on the glass is so sweet and creative, showing their connection and affection. They try to make each other happy with their drawings, even though they are both hurting inside. But then tragedy strikes when the glass breaks and they lose each other forever. This part made me cry so hard because it reminded me of how fragile life is and how we never know when we might lose someone we love. It also made me think of how hard it is to cope with loss and grief, especially when you are alone. This video is a masterpiece of storytelling that touches on themes of love, distance, separation, loss, and hope. It shows how powerful art can be as a form of expression and communication. It also shows how important it is to cherish every moment we have with our loved ones, because we never know when it might be our last. I want to thank Mike Inel for creating this amazing video that resonated with me so much. I also want to thank all the people who are in long distance relationships for their courage and dedication. You are not alone in this struggle. You have my respect and admiration. #drawwithme #longdistancerelationship #depression #love #loss #hope #art #animation #youtube
I remember a long time ago....My once best friend told me about this video...and she showed me this. I loved the animation and style of the characters..I did not understand what they were saying back then because I didn't knew english but now....I still love it.
me at first after seeing what i THOUGHT was the ending: awwww.... thats sad.... me after seeing the actual ending: nevermind... thats less sad... that just scary
Well, I imagined that the girl was going to disappear, I mean, I imagined that the girl was a 2d girl and was trapped behind the wall of this genre, however the guy was a 3d boy otaku that liked the 2d waifus. One time he tried to break the wall that separates 2d and 3d (such as a monitor)while the girl was telling him to stop, however after the wall broke the girl disappeared and he found himself alone. Years later the boy went back and the "wall" restored and the girl smiling like if nothing had happened. [I originally imagined that after the wall brakes the girl will disappear forever, but I take this ending too] Meaning: never fall in love with 2d girls/boys, it will only make your life painful for not being able to stay in their warmth ^^ Also this one of my favourite anime related videos with MeMeMe
Dirty Maid But in another animated movie with the title ‚missing‘ she s noted in a book from missing kids with the title ‚last seen behind a glass wall‘
I remember watching this with the original music, back when it first came out, before youtube got weird, this was an amazing piece and the art style really stuck with me. Im glad to see that even now, it is still getting a lot of love from people.
GOD FINALLY AFTER 11 YEARS I FINALLY REMEMBERED THIS AND HAD THE MINDFULNESS TO LOOK IT UP thank u for the weirdly sweet memory :] it’s as sad as i recalled !!
I remember when this video came out. I felt lonely at that time and it was confusing at that time growing up. Then I found saw this video. It was simple and showed a deep meaning that alot of people don't notice alot of the time. This video helped me get where I am today and I thank you for that Mike. It's a beautiful animation that makes me smile everytime I see it. I hope it makes others just as happy. For that I say thank you. =3

Bro Sometimes we just... Don't need the rest of the story Look, missing halloween. You remove the end, and -booom 5 therapys years in less I mean..... The timelapse showed a lot pf things
I was in high school when this video came out. I've always loved this video and it has always stuck with me. However, 12 years later, I appreciate it even more and understand it substantially more now that the friend who introduced me to this video has died. I hold onto the memories of my friend close, so this video will always be a part of me and my heart.
Some people think that there is no fun in talking to someone with writing, or talking with someone without saying anything. But There was a time when nobody knew how to speak. At least, Not like most of us do today. Just think about it. It's pretty amazing that once we had no clue on how to even say hello to someone in any launguage. and now today It means nothing. People just think "Oh,well. So what If today we have high tech, and internet. I think that it's boring." . Some people actually think that. It suprises me that people go on with their day, Without even Being a slight bit of amazed that The world has changed so much since then. This was beautiful. Bravo!
This always makes me cry!!! I still love it and come back to it all these years later but one thing never changes and that is that I am borderline sobbing when it is done. Very heartfelt and enjoyable Thank You so much
Once again, I'm drawn back here by bittersweet memories, and regrets of similar mistakes I made in my own life. I haven't gotten anywhere better, have I? Am I doomed to look at this again a few years or decades from now, laughing at myself?
i remember watching this as a kid and it came back to mine so i wrote "girl gives arm to guy animation" and it popped up. this video was my inspiration as a kid and made me want to start drawing. thank you so much for making this i wouldn't be where i am right now without it.
I’ve watched this video like 4 times across a few years and I never realized the gift was her arm I couldn’t tell what happened until now. I’m a idiot.

It expresses so much and is so relateable especially for those who care so much to just be around the person they love and enjoying their company.
7 years...Still remember watching this then and even now it's beautifully sad
Question is. DOES THE CHALK EVER RUN OUT? ;-;

Gotta miss the version where the bgm is "Cherish" by Otsuka Ai
What happened to that?
Mike has the no audio version and the audio version seperated
its sad to not see it with its beautiful original audio. I remember how it made me cry and how obsessed i was with the song after that. Too bad YT was like "Nah", cause Cherish works just so beautifly
Can you please tell me what was the original music? I also think it was different...
@@АлександраОстровская-м1й They said it. Cherish - Ai Otsuka.
AFTER 11 YEARS TH-cam?!

After 10 years 💔💔 I'm still crying 😭😭😭
That ending... So heartwarmingly sadly creepy.
But glad Mr Enter brought me here.
Such smooth movements, stunning visuals, and a breathtaking soundtrack. It's as beautiful as I remember it.

Thank you.
oh shit did she chop off her arm >.>
maybe
think about it , the arm was yellow she's yellow and she had a blanket so she's hiding her body
maybe she's cold
or maybe she chopped off her arm
well if you watch the video missing Halloween, she is in the missing children list, meaning she might as well be dead. maybe that's the arm of her dead body
she cut her left arm and gave it to him because he was left handed that is kinda fcked up
you freaking
Everyone: SHE CUT HER HAND OFF JUST SO HE COULD DRAW WITH HER?!?CRAZY
me:thats dedication or she just was really stubborn
Yandere.

[I originally imagined that after the wall brakes the girl will disappear forever, but I take this ending too]
Meaning: never fall in love with 2d girls/boys, it will only make your life painful for not being able to stay in their warmth ^^
Also this one of my favourite anime related videos with MeMeMe
Dirty Maid But in another animated movie with the title ‚missing‘ she s noted in a book from missing kids with the title ‚last seen behind a glass wall‘
I hadn't seen this video in years, but I came across it again today... I had forgotten just how sad it makes me feel...
After almost 12 years after seeing this for the first time I always come back. And I still love it. Thank you
This needs a comeback.. honestly 14 years ago of a beautiful story hidden over piles of media.
I had remembered this video today out of nostalgia and wow that left more of an impact than I remember. Girl really just gave him an extra arm.
Mike is truly amazing. He made me feel a really interesting feel of nostalgia with this video here when I haven't ever seen this before. Amazing.
I will never forget the first time I saw this when it came out. I cried so much in the end ❤ it’s amazing to come to this masterpiece 14 years later

Your short vids are so damn good!! They always leave me speechless
It's been 12 years now and it's still so gorgeous
Still brings tears even after all these years.
Damn it’s already been 14 years….it’s still living rent free in my head
Did she just cut her arm and gave it to him or
Yep.
+Anxiety Yes because she doesn't need it to draw, she is right handed and the boy is left handed. She wants to draw with him
um.. no watch that again and pause at 2:02
+Anxiety You know what's funny? We're arguing about hands when no one has even answered the question.
+Anxiety Im pretty sure she wants him to attach her hand to his so he can draw
I'm at the beautiful side of TH-cam
This is better than most anime plots
DE GODDAMN FEELZ
+Zero Neko .... I was about to say the opposite of that! .... I didn't really get it. Im so dumbbb
Bravo!
I can’t believe this just popped into my head after all this time. I can’t help but feel the audio is the only thing different
It's still the same as it was then.
Your sound output is probably different now compared to back then.
Haha actually youre not wrong the original song was “Cherish” and got removed due to copyright
This always makes me cry!!!
I still love it and come back to it all these years later but one thing never changes and that is that I am borderline sobbing when it is done.
Very heartfelt and enjoyable
Thank You so much
This short is unforgettable. It's such a great watch, every single time
Once again, I'm drawn back here by bittersweet memories, and regrets of similar mistakes I made in my own life.
I haven't gotten anywhere better, have I?
Am I doomed to look at this again a few years or decades from now, laughing at myself?
am i the only one who's crying? yes? okay ;-;

I’ve watched this video like 4 times across a few years and I never realized the gift was her arm I couldn’t tell what happened until now. I’m a idiot.
Mike inels animations are always so cute and sweet and dark the perfect combination
11 years and I am still amazed by this animation. Jesus christ it gets me every time!
