One overlooked scene is where Elle is interviewed, and she is ambushed by the journalist who wants to talk about trans issues and politics. It was an eye opener for me.
I think they did an amazing job on reflecting those difficult subjects in the show. Especially in episode 3. That scene really spoke to me because I know what it’s like feeling afraid to tell and ask someone for help when it comes to mental health. I broke down crying. That scene helped me feel a little more understood. I know those topics are difficult but it’s important.
While it is really heartwarming how Kit tells how he was there when Joe got his career news, I would've really loved it, if Joe got also to talk about it.... just in general, Joe is really quite in this interview.
@@Linyenwa yeah I started watching the press for Agatha since I watched the show and there’s a stark difference in how he acts makes me a little sad. I just hope it’s his own choosing and not what he feels he has to do in these other interviews that are not Agatha.
@@CharlieMarlin Sadly, Joe's seemingly has been ill for quite some time (I do worry) and was also ill during Agatha press which he recently admitted to in his The Laterals article and still his promo for Agatha was quite a stark difference.
My heart goes out to Kit here. That last question obviously brought to mind some painful memories for him and he is clearly doing his best to hold back tears. It must be so emotionally draining having to call up past upsetting experiences in order to draw on the necessary emotion for a scene, especially for those who are particularly sensitive and empathic. ❤️🩹
I really liked this interview! I think they were asked different questions from others. They are very soft spoken, specially Kit and I just love listening to them.
probably an all day interview thing like constant back to back interviews close as can be timeframe wise! probs going from 6am to 11pm/12am of the next day! takes it OUT of you mentally and physically
@@disneycastmember3248 yeah cuz in every single interview they're wearing the same thing and in the same set. In each interview they're also answering some of the same questions so its hard to answer the question in a different way each time on the spot.
Maybe this is an unpopular opinion, and I'm gonna try to step away from the spoilers here but I think that this season centers heavily in Nick's journey again. Kit has managed to give us heartfelt and very very emotional scenes this season, which I loved and cried to very much. This is a very needed break from the all joyful times from previous seasons, but not making it gritty or sort of unbearable to watch as it is not painful or tragic as other series out there. I absolutely loved how they explored and expressed Nick's vulnerability, how he tries his best to remain strong but he's internally breaking. I find it so powerful when male characters embrace that vulnerability and are so open about it, because keeping the pain quiet in the heart hurts too much, and can destroy your personality, your charm, who you are. And as important that is it that Nick is an open bisexual man, it is also very important that he's the one being more vulnerable and "fragile" in this season. I absolutely loved that. And of course, Kit's performance was top notch. Amazing, for real Love them both so very much, as well as the rest of the cast (Yasmin and Corina were incredible this season as well).
It's also curious how you point out how Nick is trying to remain strong but failing momentarily at it, when this is exactly Charlie's behavior in all of season 2 and especially during the first 3 episodes. Everyone has their opinion they're entitled to, but I'm quite at a loss of words at how overlooked Charlie gets in a season which deals with .... no, I won't spoil, but it is Charlie's journey.
I think this season definitely focussed on Charlie’s journey and is done extremely well and I also appreciate seeing the toll it takes on Nick. Last season, Charlie took on too much responsibility with regard to Nick’s coming out and this season Nick is bearing a heavy burden being Charlie’s main support. I think partners and caregivers are often overlooked in mental health situations and I’m so glad they addressed the unhealthy nature of their co-dependency. It’s an important lesson for both youth and adults alike.
I think both Kit and Joe are incredible this time around, but I think the season is more about Charlie to be honest, which is how it should be if you're dealing with something like this. I appreciate that there are several scenes between Charlie and his therapist where they discuss progress and setbacks and I think Joe does an incredible job of showing the progression from slowly hitting your lowest low to climbing out of that hole and trying to get better. I think it's a lovely piece of acting. That said, looking at someone else's comment, I really appreciate that we get to follow how Charlie's issues affect Nick. That's a storyline that's often taken in pieces or overlooked. Usually the partner of the person going through the mental health struggle pops in to stage an intervention or take them to the hospital when it all goes south, etc., but the day-to-day of it is really taxing and it breaks you down over time. It's nice to feel seen since I am the long-time partner of someone who's dealt with some serious mental health crises. Even writing that feels funny and selfish because it's so ingrained to put your feelings second because what someone else is going through is so much worse. I don't intend to take anything away from Joe. As I said, I think his performance is phenomenal. But I really appreciate scenes like the one in the car where Tara reminds Nick that it's okay to admit everything has been hard for him or the small things like watching Kit flinch and get quiet in the scenes where Charlie snaps at Nick because that is exactly what that's like. You're trying so hard to be empathetic and not lose your temper while knowing that you don't deserve to be treated like that. It's also heartbreaking to watch someone you love struggle so much and try to be there for them while feeling like it's never enough help, especially if you're their main support system. You also tend to feel like you can't make any mistakes because there is an expectation that you will be the strong one, so it's good that the show uses Nick as a foil to remind me people that you can't be strong all the time. So, while I think the season belongs to Joe and his performance, I appreciate that Kit makes stories like mine feel real.
yesss. i love the books so much, they made me cry multiple times but the show did so much better about showing how hard it was for nick too. i also love how close tara and nick were this season because in the book nick didn’t really have anyone to talk to but this season tara was there for any help nick needed (as well as tao)
I knew Kit’s voice got deeper but it’s REALLY deep here 🫢
i'm fully convinced someone fucked with a voice modulator as they both sound like they went through 8 more rounds of puberty

I thought that scene was more about betrayal, dishonesty, and manipulation than about trans people. It was a good scene.

i knew joe would do charlies storyline justice but wow his performance is so raw, so natural, so genuine.... i was in tears :(

I guess, I'm too spoiled with how Joe behaves in Agatha All Along press. Much more at ease, it seems.
