Year of the black rainbow just banged. Made you cry then banged more. When Skeletons live is one of the hardest songs I've ever heard when the drummer quits muting cymbals
I always fantasized of an anime series revolving around the Coheed storyline. With their music playing during the intense battle scenes. I think this is proof that it would be fucking awesome.
This is the video dedicated to the people who have lost something yet still fight for a reason...This song is kick ass awesome and the video has the greatest impact on me.
yesss been experiencing this sentiment myself very much the last couple weeks!! I'm thinking about doing a cover of "Feathers" soon, but here's my latest C&C cover, Evagria The Faithful, if you're interested ;) th-cam.com/video/1TeJ_WYutgQ/w-d-xo.html
I followed your every move, In a stride that wills disguise Little markings clue defined. Your red lips speak of painted figures, The teeth of mangled little listeners, The thoughts that hide your rusty scissors in. Hold them in, swinging honesty across this violence. Obscurity has no hero. The world looks better when you're falling. Grace to comfort, enough to crawl in. Divided we must pray for the broken, No one can fix us. We are, we'll always be the wrong. Blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blah, blaaah Your touch seeds of emptiness, The callous tips against the brush, The worlds now breaking off to curse. The world looks better when you're falling. Grace to comfort, enough to crawl in. Divided we must pray for the broken, No one can fix us. We are, we'll always be the wrong. We're conspiring. Where was your heart when we needed it most? Live in denial, and I'll be your ghost. There is nothing to let go. Only time will let you know. If you're worth anything you will know that I'm Giving up way to early. Let the axis turn you free and destroy everything you love. The world looks better when you're falling. Grace to comfort, enough to crawl in. Divided we must pray for the broken, No one can fix us. We are, we are, We are, we are, We are, we'll always be the wrong. My note: You’re welcome in advanced.
The song is not entirely palatable to a mass market. It incorporates harsh timbres, jarringly disparate sections, and is overall dark in tone. It is a very depressing lead in to the album, much like the followup track Guns of Summer. Compare to the more defiant Here We Are Juggernaut, which still uses some harsh sounds, but is overall more traditional in songwriting and has a less negative lyric. Personally, I think all of Year of the Black Rainbow is brilliant, and this song is fantastic in its place in the story, but I also recognize that musical tastes are extremely subjective and many people respond with heightened emotions both positive and negative, leading to a lot of frustration.
My favorite Coheed album, and I've been listening since SSTB. The dive into industrial music at the story's bleakest point (right when Ryan took over Heaven's Fence) was perfect.
One of the things I love most about Coheed is that they adapt their sound to the story. YOTBR has a very somber, yet dark and even angry plot so Claudio dips into the aggressiveness if Wilhelm and the pain of the Doctor. Afterman albums both have a sense of the five stages of grief. SSTB is hard to explain so I'll keep away. But IKSSE:3 has that same aggressive tone with the darker parts, but also emotional and crazy (looking at you here Al). Good Apollo has an insanity to match the Writing Writer's own demented and tortured self. And the over all sense of finality in No World for Tomorrow needs no explaining.
Blake Phelps you really helped me understand the albums better. I'm still looking for a good online resource for the amory wars mythos. ive been spending the last week trying to decipher the lyrics, but regardless of character claudio always writes in first person, which means that i can glean events from the lyrics but have no idea who is involved in the events. can yoi recommend the best way to read and learn the whole storu without having to order physical copies of the comic books?
I know many fans don't like this album, which is crazy because all Coheed albums are awesome. 2:50. That's it. No other words necessary as to why this song is amazing.
@@psychedelicfright85 really? The second stage turbine blade has their most creative instrumental and vocal music. Basslines to the drums. Everything is so unique. Listen to them and smoke pot at the same time. It will change your life
@Chapter Epilogue I feel exactly the same way! Black Rainbow was my first album, and it'll always be my 2ND fave behind Good Apollo. Though its their underrated album, I feel like the lyrics tell a better Amory Wars story than any other album.
Okay Coheed & Cambria...now you have to make a movie! I'm sorry, but this shit is just too epic, and not it's leaving me, and I'm sure everyone else, wanting more!!!
I skipped this album till a few days ago. and now I feel like an idiot because it's amazing. I've bought every album now and I never get tired of listening to any of them
I've been watching music videos since night tracks on tbs back in the day before mtv, and think i've earn the right to say that "the broken" video & matching song is one of the best videos of all time!! Top ten if you ask me.
I saw Coheed and Cambria in Charlotte on the 22nd. They had a big projector set up in the back and it had this video playing in the background during this song. It was pretty fucking awesome, to say the least.
i know they hate being called a "concept band" because of the back story to all their albums, but they're doing a great job of incorporating the story into their videos lately
Way more epic than when I first listened to it. The grooves on this are sick and loved the swingey parts before the bridge. Pretty nuts but I remember being disappointed that they got less big epic dynamic Prog song oriented on this record. I’m gonna have to revisit the album though It’s been years maybe almost a decade and I’ve grown as a musician and also listener.
Holy shit that was epic, this is pretty much how I always visualised coheeds music if they had film clips especially in keeping secrets of silent earth 3 and the crowing. I bought this album when it first dropped and I've only just seen this vid... Fucking clap clap.
Coheed-Beast Cambria-knowledge Claudio=love=D the book was amazing am still reading at the end love pearl of the stars really means alot to him you can tell its amzing what they can do
what an amazing music video, and an incredible CONCEPT for a music video. i just can't even imagine how much money was put into this, since it's all CGI. truly amazing!
I saw this after watching the video so I decided to trie it. If you wait about two seconds after starting welcome home the video and music synce amazingly.
Can't believe I am only seeing this now, how did I manage to miss this video for so long! Brilliant tune, love this album (although I understand some others don't), this video is awesome - is that the dragon ships from the comics that are portrayed in this video?
Jesus Murphy! That was sick! An incredible tribute for fans of the story of the albums (i read the comics too.) Being a prequel album, this video has me pumped for the release!
O.m.F.G.... I can't believe I have never seen this video. This is amazing! I wish they would do more vids like this... Or better yet...i wish they would MAKE A MOVIE!!! Its not ONLY Logical next step for Co&Ca!
Personally i love Coheed and can't find another band like them, that's how i define a great band. Unique... and artistic. I forgot to throw that in. But once again, CLAUDIO NEEDS TO WORK ON AN ANIMATION!
so pumped for this album! just preordered the deluxe on itunes. cannot wait for those bonus trackss and the show in columbus in may is going to be raw. ready for that too!
I feel like I just dropped acid. Holy fuck what an awesome video! Why has Netflix not already optioned The Amory Wars for a series already? It would be EPIC!!!
You're right, they are progressive. Through each album they're always changing. And it's always for the better. I don't really care for bands where every song sounds the same. Coheed has so much diversity and it's always awesome.
This video really reminds me of shadow puppetry. The play of positive and negative space that's on a back lit stage. Almost as if it's from some deranged child's mind. Epic!
One of the most forgotten bangers in the cataloge
The whole album is a banger tbh 🙌🏼
@@XxAiRuNxX894I keep seeing people saying it's bad for some reason but the album's great.
And what an extensive and impressive catalog it is

Finally hit 1 million views, well deserved

amory, not armoury.
@Stephen j THERE'S NO R *REEEEEEEEEEEEEE*
You do know that all their albums are based off of his comic books right? Just read them. There ya go. They’re called the armory wars
Netflix just signed a deal with boom comics, who publishes these.
i have no money, but i would Pay Money for an accurate anime with Claudio in charge. actually Pay Real Money.
this chorus is amazing...
All the way till the blah blah blah lol which is so out of place

This is easily in my top 10 coheed songs man. the WE ARRRREEEEEEEEEEEEE OH AH OOOOHHHHHHH gets me SCREAMING everytime
We all know the huge albums, but going back to yotbr and nwft they age incredibly well.
At the time of release this was my favorite album. When I listen to it now I still love it, but I miss something about it.
This is still my favorite coheed song
NWFT may be my favorite album.

I would flip this comment on it's head also. We all know Coheed and Cambria was amazing right out the gate but they age incredibly well. 😁😁😁🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥

Garian That was amazing
cuz technically, this was not an actual depiction of *earth* >;-)
@Kris Owens, None of these ships that are in the video are real
This is the video that got me into Coheed and Cambria.
The guitar parts are very unorthodox & I love it.
My favorite Coheed album, and I've been listening since SSTB. The dive into industrial music at the story's bleakest point (right when Ryan took over Heaven's Fence) was perfect.
probably the sickest music video ive ever seen... amazing..
Such an epic sense of desperation in this song! wish more Coheed songs were like this
This is awesome. Coheed and Cambria is one of the most unappreciated bands in the industry.
