    I know they weren't tryna break down the Emmett Till story, but his mother is the REALEST one. Put yourself in her shoes. 14 years old, your baby boy, brutalised, disfigured, unrecognisable from the torture he received. In that moment of trauma and tragedy, she had presence of mind to be the mother of black people in America, to keep the casket open and for the media to take pictures so she could show the world what the devils did to her baby. Consequently then fuelling decades of civil rights movements, inspiring the likes of Rosa Parks and MLK Jr.

    At 15:08 - I have to say, why do you lot feel like a black man being with some racist white woman &her racist family/in-laws is so “revolutionary”? It’s like you want to prove a white man so bad that you don’t realize how damaging that can be to the black person involved. If Terry is such a racist, trust, he doesn’t need any black sons-in-law/daughters-in law nor grandkids. Allow it.

    In Texas, where the recent school shooting happened, you don't need a licence or background check to buy a gun.
    The governor of Texas also received the largest donation from the NRA last year.

    To Chuckie's point about the gun situation; in some places in the US, theres not alot of police stations in proximity or police in general, some people live miles away and if something was to happen by time the police arrive theres nothing that can be done, so the right to bare arms for protection is at times for circumstances like this.... Poet hasn’t always been the best guy and that’s why I personally like him. You can’t speak on someone without giving them room for growth and change. You shouldn’t be the same person you were five years ago let alone ten or however many years ago that was. And yes I as a BLACK Chelsea fan believe he did say it that’s a mark on him but that doesn’t mean he couldn’t change that’s something he will have to deal with forever but to compare him to HITLER… STINKER that was a step too far regardless. I just believe you have to give room for growth otherwise nobody would be able to be better and all of that labeling BS would rule supreme. Be intentional with our words, educate DONT demean. Look at the history of the US… Americans love guns because it was written into our constitution and Bill of Rights. The second amendment allows you to bear arms and form a militia to counteract the government if it oversteps its boundaries. Of course that has evolved into now where everyone has the right to own a gun in America. But it runs too deep, you can’t just take guns away unfortunately. People will see that as a reason to bear arms and literally fight the government that wants to “oppress” you by taking guns away. There should definitely be stipulations and constraints that make it more difficult to obtain a gun, or on the certain type of firearm, but you fundamentally can’t take guns away in totality.

    • @khary9
      @khary9 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Constitution says nothing about guns. It gives you the right to bear arms. "Arms" is interpreted as guns but doesnt have to be.

    • @501sabu501
      @501sabu501 2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@khary9 Of course it “doesn’t have to be” guns but unfortunately it always was and always will be interpreted that way because the 2nd amendment is written vaguely. Go read the prose. They also had no perspective of how far the evolution of arms would come, but muskets and rifles were definitely the arms of that time. The bill of rights was 15 years after America fought for independence in a war against England where a bunch of people formed militias to take up arms (guns) against the British. So what are we even talking about?

    • @khary9
      @khary9 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      History does not guarantee the future. This brings the focus onto the Supreme Court. It is their responsibility to interpret the Constitution as it relates to the American concept of Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness enshrined in the Declaration of Independence. While it is not likely in the near time, ultimately it is the responsibility and ability of the SCOTUS to define arms. They have the potential to restrict and define the meaning of that term [period].

      @khary9 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hate to go on but need to clarify. By the time of the US Revo, the dehuminization of native and enslaved peoples was underway yet evolving. Full dehuminization comes much later in the 19th century. The guns were both tools of dehuminization and valuable trade items for, and to, native americans and enslaved Africans with whom these British and other European colonizing migrants (invaders) knew were still fully human, evidenced by the treaties and partnerships still being pursued up to and a lil past that point. Hate to get so nuanced here but it is important for our collective "black" psyche that we be clear on the history.

    America has a unique gun culture, which isn’t all bad, but like many things, gets smeared by horrible events and dangerous people.
    Mass shootings are still, by far and large, rare compared to other gun homicides. (Male gun suicide is #1)
    Instead of using this for another political win, the government needs to be focusing on: Stringent background checks, training and arming teachers and having armed guards in high risk areas.
    Unfortunately, identity politics of late has massively polarised their society to the point where we’re seeing radical extremism as we saw in that 18 yo.
    Both sides will blame each other rather than coming together and looking deeply into the root causes, which essentially goes back to: Poverty, broken homes, isolation since Covid, mental health, Legacy and Social media, inadequate police training and de-escalation tactics.
    8/10 these people are known to law enforcement, but somehow slip through the cracks.
    Instead, the Left are only going to sign new laws that only harms law abiding citizens than do the actual leg work and fix their fragmented society.
