Still a pre-mil, post trib, part calvenist/Arminian, Bible reading/studying person. Haha. Thank the Lord that it's not a salvation issue but it can affect how you spend your time till He comes. However, we see through a dark glass dimly. Let's keep humble and keep the conversation going.
Agreed. Just like dispensationalism, Calvinism and Arminianism are not and should not be the center of the gospel message. They are philosophical/theological arguments, both drawing on support from the scripture, used to interpret other parts of the scripture. We are called to do good works, called to make disciples (which means teaching other people how to live, not just what to believe), for the glory of God through his son our Messiah Jesus. If your particular flavor of scriptural interpretation comes before that mandate, you are no longer following Jesus.
Revelation 20: Does your interpretation agree with all other scripture? (Chronological or Recapitulation?) (Literal vs. Figurative?) Based on the following scripture, will immortals and mortals both live on earth for 1,000 years after the Second Coming of Christ? Will there be renewed animal sacrifices in earthly Jerusalem for 1,000 years after the Second Coming of Christ? Will Christ conduct funeral services for mortals killed in accidents many years after His Second Coming? Graveyards needed? Can the following questions be examined without ridicule, and condemnation, based on the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34, and found fulfilled in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and Hebrews 12:18-24? Can the number 1,000 be used in a symbolic manner? Psalm 50:10 Does an angel with a key come from heaven and open the bottomless pit in Revelation 9:1-2? Why did the angel have to unlock the pit if it was not locked previously? Who is the king of the angels in the bottomless pit found in Revelation 9:11? Are some of the angels “bound” in some manner in Revelation 9:14? If the beast comes up out of the pit in Revelation 11:7, where is the beast before then? John sees “souls” at the beginning of Revelation chapter 20. Are these the same “souls” found in Revelation 6:9-11? Is the “first resurrection” in Revelation 20:5 the first bodily resurrection in the Book of Revelation? (Rev. 11:11) Are there two different types of resurrections in John chapter 5? John 5:24 (Spiritual) ? Were you dead, and now you are alive? John 5:27-30 Christ describes the bodily resurrection and “hour” of judgment of “all” the dead. Who is the “strong man” who is bound in Matthew 12:26-29? How is Satan “bound” in Revelation 20:3? How many mortals are left alive on the planet at the end of Matthew 25:31-46? Isaiah 65:17-25? Are people really dying in verse 20? Context, Context, Context… The New Heavens and New Earth are found at the beginning of the passage, and the end of the curse is found at the end of the passage. What happens if verse 20 begins with a negative statement? "There will be no more..." Was Paul expecting Christ to return "in flaming fire", taking vengeance on those who do not know God in 2 Thessalonians 1:7-10? How would mortals survive this fire? Does the fire come at the end of Revelation 20? Did Paul expect both the living and the dead to be judged at the appearing of Christ, in 2 Timothy 4:1? When is the judgment of the dead in Revelation 20? Is it the same judgment of the dead in Revelation 11:18? What is the restitution of all things at the return of Christ in Acts 3:20-21? Will Christ's sacrifice at Calvary also reverse the curse, at His return? Does death die at the last trumpet in 1 Corinthians 15:50-55? Why did Jesus correct the woman at the well when she said earthly Jerusalem was the place to worship? See John 4:20-24. Why did Paul say the Jerusalem above is our “mother” in Galatians 4:24-31? What is the inheritance of the Old Testament Saints in Hebrews 11:15-16? Is the third temple found in 1 Peter 2:4-10? Is this temple just as real as a temple made of earthly stones? What was Peter expecting on the day of the Lord when He comes as a thief in 2 Peter 3:10-13? Do we find the judgment of both the living and the dead at the 7th trumpet, which is the last trumpet in the Bible, in Revelation 11:15-18? Why do most preachers ignore the time of the judgment of the dead, with reward for some, and destruction for others in Revelation 11:18? What does it prove about the chronology of the Book of Revelation? ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Is there a correlation between Revelation 20 and earlier passages in the Book of Revelation? Is Revelation chapter 20 another example of “Recapitulation”? Rev 18:23 And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived. Rev 20:9 And they went up on the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down from God out of heaven, and devoured them. Rev_18:8 Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone. Rev 20:11 And I saw a great white throne, and him that sat on it, from whose face the earth and the heaven fled away; and there was found no place for them. Rev 20:12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works. What a great time in history to be alive and serving alongside Jame White and Doug Wilson. What solid leaders and servants of Christ they both are. Great video.
Since becoming a post millennial I have had my entire approach to life changed. I live for Jesus and what I can do to serve Him with the time He gives me on this Earth. He put me here for a reason and it isn’t to focus on the destruction and doom potentially to come. Also dealing with the massive amounts of false prophets and the deception and confusion that comes with predicting and newspaper exegesis of Scripture. It removes a lot of the fat in modern “Church-ianity” in my opinion. I focus on Jesus for strength to fight back the evil beating on the door and to rely on Him in my day to day life. I know God has ordained all things and His plans are far superior to my insignificant and flawed assumptions. Don’t let the world steal your focus by worrying about a rapture date or consumed by the darkness that surrounds us. Just walk with Christ and conform to His image. Serve The King. Love the talks guys, you are great! Burn it all down Doug! 🔥 God bless!✝️
I would definitely agree. But when it happens, you start seeing the truth of it EVERYWHERE and you feel like you are seeing the whole world again for the first time.
One of the huge things that played into our joining the church we are part of was this. Our church emphasizes the principle of "in all that we do, we must take into consideration, and make a priority how what we are doing, effects the two generations coming behind us." As we do so, our way of doing things, our emphasis, our actions change, and I absolutely LOVE it! As we pass this principle on, our children and their children will do the same. Quite a simple and profound thing. BTW, you guys are pretty amazing together. Loving these videos.
UA,....So, in reality what you are doing is ensuring that the next two generations will be as blind, lost, and deceived as you all are. The entire church is apostate and has no actual Biblical understanding. They sell a 100% different religion, jesus, and gospel than that of the Bibles. This is what you are making sure gets passed down to the next two generations. Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand!
@@kated4359 ,.....Yes, of course. The person I responded to is just really saying, whatever fake christianity he has been indoctrinated with/into, is what he will pass down to the next two generations. Just because he thinks it is correct, means nothing. The entire world is filled with those that think they have religion correct. He in reality is only going to pass down all his deception, and false beliefs, no different than a mormon passing down all their false Biblical understanding. They too think they have it right and have been successful at keeping their descendants indoctrinated into their false Godless religion. What this person is proposing is the same, only a different false christianity. It is Jesus that passes down the actual truth of the Bible to those that belong to him.

@@4usgardens who's Paul Young? RC Sproul had a wonderful saying that I use all the time to counter heretical "findings". He said "if you discover something that has gone unnoticed by the rich, 2000 year old church, its a good idea you need to abandon the discovery". I'll use it here because I dont believe one man has a greater understanding of the Scripture than millions, perhaps billions, over millennia.

Thank you. I've been outside the church for 30 years, due to the prevalence of the pre trib rapture theory, that then became equivalent to the gospel. I was raised rapture pre trib Baptist, but after searching the text couldn't find it in the text. That undermined my whole view of theology and I went into a long period of rebuilding, searching, reading etc. I truly believe it was inspired. I ended up rebuilding and becoming a sabatarian, Calvinist and reformed. No organized church, yet, but I am comfortable and still changing. But, in no way will I ever go back to the view of Christianity that is so small and exclusive. God will do as he pleases. What is happening now, is His will. To think otherwise is a sin. We should be rejoicing at God's work everyplace. God should not be put back into our box. God is at work with all people, through His Son. The sickness we live through now, should be dealt with as we would during anytime. We shouldn't change our response to God's purpose and will for our lives. I do believe that this time is different, as this time involves the world, our planet, solar system, galaxy and universe are actually changing, of course, all according to God's will and plan.
Lisa, I highly recommend and seek to encourage you to find a local body of believers to fellowship with. This is so important! Even if you find a church that you disagree on some theological points, you are much better off with a group of believers than on your own. I say this as your brother in Christ, who spent years outside of a church struggling and by God's grace found a church way better than I even thought I could find. Not a perfect church, because we all haven't yet attained perfection. My life has changed so much because of the help from these brothers! We must be in fellowship; not only is it a command from our Lord Jesus Christ, but it is also a grace and blessing from God. We need to fellowship with other believers so that our hearts are re-oriented to Christ (we stray so easily without realizing it)! Humbly, your brother in Christ who loves you. God bless you sister!

I held the pre-trib view most of my life. Last year I adopted the pre-wrath view after examining my eschatology. It was one of the hardest things I ever did to challenge my pre-trib view. I appreciate listening to other views. It helps me maintain balance. I acknowledge we need to not interpret scripture through current events and that others before us have thought it was the end of the world. We may seem to lose a battle along the way but it’s Christ who is already victorious. I will never again hold my eschatology so tightly.
Honestly idc about if there’s a rapture or not. I’m a Christian and I’m not afraid to die for Jesus. I think people who focus on the rapture are people who are scared of being faced with the decision to either worship the beast or die.

@@tvhead7074 it’s not always the case. It’s wanting to understand the scripture and trust what it says. If it does teach the rapture then we can believe it.
Every true Christian of every eschatological view knows that we are going to prevail. The troops need to be rallied with clear, solid biblical teaching. Majoring in the branch of theology that is most debatable is not the wisest road. We're so unused to suffering that when faced with imminent persecution, we think either the rapture must be at hand, or else we'll soon experience temporal victory (Give it five years). What we really need is a solid spiritual foundation that will help us face suffering with courage, maintaining our faith in discouraging circumstances.
I think that Christians in the West are so spiritually weak that we focus on our eschatological view (whatever it may be) in an unbalanced way. We should be focusing on obedience to Scripture's clear commands and on preparing for the obvious. I mean preparing ourselves and one another spiritually for persecution. I believe that, not because of my eschatological view, but because persecution is the Christian's lot; and we're meant to face it in faith. And any believer of any eschatological view can see that persecution is coming to the West. Actually it's always been here for those living a truly godly life, but few of us have been doing that. We've compromised so much that we don't even realize how worldly we are. But the Bible teaches that persecution is the norm, and we're getting to the point where we won't be able to weasel out of it anymore. It will be time to "Choose you this day whom you will serve." Our hope is not here, It's not meant to be here, Scripture does not teach us to have our hope here. The Bible teaches us to have our eyes on the things unseen, on the things eternal. As far as eschatology, Christians agree that Christ will return, that He will judge all men rightly, and that His children will experience joy with Him forever. He'll reward us for the good He's done through us. He'll reign in glory, and we'll be victorious with Him. Absolutely no Christian needs Doug Wilson's view in order to have a joyful, victorious hope. No one knows all the details and timing of prophecy; we do know that we're to be faithful and full of hope until He comes.
@@ConcurrenceTuttle well of course. I agree with you because you state the obvious. What's to be expected of the West when life is easy by comparison. On the other hand, by and large those in the USA are benefitting from Judeo-Christian principles, so we know God's design works. And let's also acknowledge that in the West people do suffer from different kinds of stress and hardship. It's not all that obvious as what makes life easy is not necessarily healthy, so we are over worked (that is, for those who work), fat, stressed, and out of touch with what's really meaningful.
I think there should be duel cameras so we can see the responses to the other at all times. I'd love to see White's smirk at 16:40 when Wilson says that the consistent armenian is an open theist, a truth White has long expressed.

There are two Christianitys. One of Jesus and the Bible, and the other a counterfeit version, an antichrist version of the Godless world, (the beast). The fake one looks exactly like the real version, but it is not, it is laced with leaven, (false teaching). @@ChristyOFaghan I didn't ask you and you're not my buddy either but I can tell you right now that God does not call his people to blindly obey a collective of unlawful satanic people who call themselves government and claim a right to the life and property of everyone they can dominate by terror and brute force. The Holy Spirit is not directing any Christian to obey Satan's disciples just because they are de facto recognized by Satan's media as installed in some secular office. For your information all the Caesars are dead and headed for hell and ours is a rule of law, not "authorities". Please do show me the "magistrate" who wields the sword to punish evil doers? The government sword - I have a "sword" too - today persecutes the righteous and can't even see evildoers. So, categorically, the Holy Spirit does not convict any Christian to obey unlegislated edicts particularly when such edicts are based on a mere media mantra repeated endlessly as if by their many words they can create a covid pandemic, in fact a government-established religion by another name. However, there is no covid pandemic. There has not been a pandemic since the 1918 meningitis pandemic of 1918 that was caused by an early meningitis vaccination experiment conducted on troops later sent overseas. It was called the "Spanish Flu" to deflect attention from the fact it was caused by Rockefeller pharmaceutical experimentation on live human beings. In this current media event, mortality rates have not increased. In fact, fewer people than usual died in 2020. Statistics courtesy of America's Frontline Doctors and thousands of other actual doctors, the kind who cure disease and heal people, and their empirical statistics. The Holy Spirit is not ignorant of reality. The Holy Spirit cannot lead the faithful into error. The Holy Spirit does not deceive Christians. Ok "buddy"? I look at the Vietnam War. One side kept fighting, thinking each small tactical victory was a major turn in the corner. After years of not getting that "big victory", they gave up and helicoptered out off the rooftop. The other side was prepared to lose battle after battle, but kept coming back. Particular victories didn't matter, they saw themselves as the rightful owners of the nation. They would say that they would succeed through being "like ants under an elephant's feet." After decades, the gates of Saigon fell. Who had the long game in mind? Who was willing to "lose" to win? Who believed in an inevitable victory? Who won? I grew up in defeatist dispensationalism my whole life. The death blows to that was: 1. Repeated failed predictions of the end times. 2. Reading church thinkers from previous centuries. 3. Reading the Bible and looking at problem passages that never made sense under premil interpretation. He will have the full victory, the earth is the Lord's and everything in it. He will reign until all enemies are placed under his feet.
Curious to hear what verses you think don't make sense using the prelim interpretation? Also what do you mean by He will reign until? Does Christ's Earthly reign have an end?
Great job guys. Let's be honest here, they are selling us this jab with the "now I'm a good person. Loving my neighbor" language. There is no doubt my redemption is in Jesus ALONE not some jab crap.
14:08 - _Why should I not believe that God can save the whole world?"_ Because God has said he will not always strive with man. God has said there is an end of the age. Jesus says there is a coming judgement, and to flee the wrath thereof. He says it will take (almost) everyone by surprise. Jesus asks, _"When the Son of Man returns, will he find faith on earth?"_ It's a rhetorical question. The answer is "no", or "almost none". God says that he will send strong delusion, not strong revival. God says that this earth and universe will be burned in fire, not made glorious. It will be burned in fire, and replaced by a completely NEW world. Jesus says that his kingdom is NOT of this world. God says this world is passing away. God paints all of human history as the loss of the many, and the salvation only of a remnant. None of this paints a picture of a Church becoming ever more victorious over the world, and reigning over it. They are surely not suggesting this, are they? Didn't we used to call this "Kingdom Now" theology? God didn't say he was going to save the world. He said Jesus would save *his people* from out of the world.
Great comment. I appreciate it as I am a pan-tribber myself. I just want to point out that post mills believe that the gospel will overcome. Kingdom now theology is about us conquering those 7 mountains (arts, govt etc) and then spreading the gospel. But then I ask about post mil, “wouldn’t converted persons then have to take over these 7 areas in order to rule the world?” I don’t know. It’s a little confusing to me.
Agree, most of believing Christians will die for their faith. I believe the dead in christ will be raised incorruptible when Christ returns and be with Him during the 1000 years. Many pastors/churches are not preparing their folks for the tribulations that Jesus spoke of while He was with us in the flesh. Read your Bibles daily, pray to the Father daily, walk with Him who loves you...Shalom!
I'm just wondering, if the new heavens and new earth occur when Christ comes back at the END of the millennium, why is there a millennium? Wouldn't that be the beginning of an ENDLESS reign?
@@judylloyd7901 I think because he planned for 7000 years. A day with the Lord is as a thousand years. Men work 6 days and rest on the 7th. Hence 1000 years of rest on THIS earth. The one Adam and we sinned on. Jesus will take the curse off. Plus believe it or not after 1000 years of people seeing all Jesus does still rebel when Satan is loosed at the end of the reign. There will be billions that will come against Israel. Because Satan is loosed they will be deceived into thinking he is the good guy. This time the Father in Heaven literally vaporizes them with fire! 🔥 Revelation 20:7-9. Then the white throne judgment happens. At this point there are only saints left and will see the new heaven and earth and new Jerusalem coming down. And we live happily ever after.

We must study and get our eschatology correct, because, God declares the end from the beginning. Therefore, if we have an incorrect understanding of the end, then, we will have an incoherent understanding of the beginning/middle/end.
It is amazing to hear you both talk of the different roads one takes to get to where you are today. How true and interesting. I was a 4 pointer for years, yet learned that being a 4 pointer, and not believing in limited atonement, made God the servant and man the Sovereign when it came to salvation. Not to mention, that a dead man not quickened by God, could actually will to go to Christ, making man a super sovereign dead man. One must be quickened ( made alive) simply put, born again by God, then in the live state drawn to Christ by the Father. I am still working toward on my study of last trump, last days, when Christ comes physically with a physical rapture and bodily resurrection of the dead saints.
It is fascinating that Dr. White basically admitted 2 things: 1) He didn't approach eschatology with the same fairness as he does other subjects like Islam. 2) He admitted his belief in postmill is escapist. Wow! Just wow! Also, he consistently made arguments against postmill and didn't seem to realize he was doing so. 🙄
Although I do not consider myself reformed/calvinist, I have always loved Dr. White's defense of the christian faith. That being said, it is dissapointing to see a man as knowledgeable as him use such a strawman by saying premillenialists believe we are going to lose. That is such a drastic mischaracterization of the oppossing view.
I just learned of the argument and the concepts here and looked them up online to see what they mean. I think I am in the pre-millenialists' camp. And I don't see it as losing or as defeatist. God is going to win, not humans. This is about God's glory and He will do the winning. So, no, we are not going to lose. We are going to win through Christ.
@@JustMe-mn4gr One, if you're an elect you will win because you are sealed by the Holy Spirit but if not and you think you're not going through the tribulation. Will you lose faith because you believe you shouldn't be going through it? God only knows. My observation is when people believe God should do this or that. Then He doesn't, people generally fall away from the faith. Read Rev, 6 with a focus on verse 10 but read it in context along with Rev. 20.
I'm Reformed and Premillenial. I have listened to Doug Wilson, Jeff Durbin and recently James White on Post Milleniallism and not been at all convinced by any of them. I don't think they deal well with Revelation 20 or Romans 11 or even Matthew 24 or 2nd Thessalonians. I have no idea how many or what percentage of the human race God will save. Some verses indicate it will be a very large number but other verses indicate it will still be a minority. I don't see how Post Milleniallists fit it the apostasy, the tribulation, mark of the beast into their eschatology. God wins whether a majority of the world gets saved or not. He wins whether the church goes through the tribulation of not. God wins even though the beast wages war against the saints and prevails against them.
I can’t believe there are so few home schoolers! Way before salvation, way before children, my wife and I knew, before we met each other, there was no way we would hand our children to any school system. Hard to believe it is not obvious to all people-especially saints.
The future, for all who believe, is life everlasting. The future, for all who believeth not, is DEATH, death for evermore, unending. This is the message for all times.
Thank you for this discussion. I've had all of an hour to find out there is yet another point of disagreement which is pre versus post millenialism. So before watching further, I looked up what those are. I think I am a historical pre-millenialist, then. And I do see what you're saying just before 33:09 about the Christian soldiers needing some hope of winning. But I don't see it as us losing. We lose for a bit and then are raptured to be kept safe and then some worse mayhem occurs, which may jostle the remaining non-believers enough to get them to believe. Then God Himself, Jesus, returns and wins for us. I believe God wins the war, not humans. I am still learning but this seems closest to what I've read so far in the Bible. And, also, my experiences and knowledge of humanity prevents me from believing we will be able to do what the post-millenialists believe. Making a good world - the Kingdom - ourselves? Not from what I have seen of humanity.
When the government arrogates to itself any divine attribute (i.e.: omniscience) by saying that they KNOW that the benefits outweigh the risks (when they cannot KNOW that without being omniscient, since they cannot KNOW long term risks, since those aren't know-able risks to anyone except the Lord alone at this point), then they are essentially saying, "Caesar is Lord" in the same manner that Caesar meant it to be said in the 4th Century. That is, they are attributing a Divine attribute to themselves that (omniscience). God alone is omniscient. So, there you go, guys. We're already there, literally, per US law. Three members of POTUS's cabinet signed paper saying they KNEW this thing. In the prior administration, to boot. So, there's another paradigm shift. They were required, by law, to say that they KNEW this in order to legally allow these serums to be given. The law presupposes that they're being honest. But any logical person can know that they aren't being honest. Because no human knows the future.
@@adevore1971 mandatory seatbelts have been law for fifty years. My point was about OPs suggestion that governments can’t know anything without being omniscient. Experts exist.
@@aallen5256 Omniscience is not required in order to know something that is know-able. It is only required in order to know something that cannot otherwise be known. If automotive seatbelts had never been invented, and you were to say that you knew that they were safe, then you may or may not be correct in what you claim. But you still cannot have known for certain that they were safe, because you'd never had to opportunity to observe their automotive safety firsthand in order to make that determination. You simply don't have the knowledge. So, you can't honestly claim to have that knowledge. Even if you were an expert on safety belts. Being an expert does not presuppose omniscience.
Although I do not agree with everything Dr. MacArthur teaches, he has done a lot in the fight against exposing the false church movement. He's a man and therefore not infallible. He has errors. Just as Luther had plenty. Do not treat him as a villain and disrespect as he sure does not deserve it.
@@adampetersen4795 I'm not. I'm saying that Wilson and White are way out of line for saying that the premillenial view is based on newspapers. It's a strawman of the most extreme variety. MacArthur handles scriptures, not newspapers, and he handles them well.
My apologies. I see now what you meant. I have great respect for the Doctor, even though he's flawed in certain aspects. Tis was a kind of knee jerk reaction😊
I'm definitely leaning toward postmill. But most Scholars believe the Book of Revelation and the Book of John were written after the destruction of the temple in a d70. So how do we get around that??
In the beginning of this video, are they referring to some movie or documentary or video of some kind that Wilson did on eschatology? If so, where can I watch this?
I wish I knew what they are talking about. What I could pick out was very interesting, and I can see they held a great conversation. It's just so many of the terms were never clarified. I guess this is for advanced intellects, not me.
One thing is true, our King is Christ in this world. In any world and every world, Christ Jesus is King of Kings. The PM view is life right about that!
What's interesting is that at 14:37 we start to talk about Limited Atonement, but then we apply the phrase "Save the world" in an Unlimited way. That doesn't seem like an argument for a Calvinist being a Post-Millennialist, it's more of an argument against a Calvinist being a Post-Millennial. If Christ's death is efficacious in a limited way, that doesn't, then naturally extrapolate to "this planet as it is will get better." I can see the leap, but it's a leap across a chasm of subjective interpretation. Didn't say it's "wrong". Everyone is entitled to opinions on this. I have no problem looking at all four views and saying, "I can make an argument for any of them from Scripture, but I won't dogmatically 'claim' one." I have no problem with an apparent uncomfortableness of trying to understand an incomprehensible God. I fully expect that in 10,000 years, I'll say, "I know lots more about God, but I still am not even dipping my toe into His Infinitude." Some ask, "Is the glass half full?" Some ask, "Is the glass half empty?" I ask, "That's a fun sidebar conversation, and interesting thoughts. But what I really want to talk about is whether the Savior Knows you, and how do you know?" I also tell people; "Whenever someone says that they have figured out the mystery of Sovereignty/Free-Will or Eschatology and they're going to tell you about it, you're about the hear the opinion of a Man. Doesn't mean it's wrong. Just don't confuse it with THE Word of God." Ad fontes!
David Chilton. I was a sophomore in college when I decided I wanted to read a commentary on Revelation. Went to the library and The Days of Vengeance - Chilton, look interesting. Up until that point I only knew of pre-millennial dispensationalism, as was the position of the college I was attending. He was my introduction to other eschatological views. Although I do believe he made some fairly long stretches in some of his interpretations. That same year my brother-in-law sent me a tape series by some guy I had never heard of, RC Sproul, Chosen By God. What an interesting, but great, year that was for my mind.
Most references are to the end of the "age", occurring in AD70 with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. This is the intention of the writers of Scripture. However, most people do not understand the context of Scripture and misapply the terms to be what they want them to be.
@@PilgrimNinja No, the end times refers to the times of the events leading up Christ's bodily return to earth in judgment. You are conflating the destruction of the temple (that generation and end of that age of temple worship) with things yet to come (the end times, the last days).
Okay Doug, you got me. With this understanding of John 3:16, how do you handle Matthew 22:14? A sufficient answer here could convert me to a post millenial view.
Whether you lean to pre-, mid-, or post-trib anticipation of Jesu6s' Christ's return, our mission is to demonstrate the Gospel until He comes to setup His Kingdom on earth.
Interesting thoughts, thanks you. But please explain what you mean by he's gonna save the world? As in a lot of people in the last days, or as in a universalism approach?
I enjoy these conversations. I am not a Calvinist though, and that pertains to my question: why is the idea of Calvinism a deviding theology? If we cannot know the mind of God, and we do not let our own interpretations of people get in the way(wheat and the rates), the why does it matter? Just so long as Calvinists aren’t writing people off because they think someone is unsavable, then why does it matter?

Agreed. Just like dispensationalism, Calvinism and Arminianism are not and should not be the center of the gospel message. They are philosophical/theological arguments, both drawing on support from the scripture, used to interpret other parts of the scripture.

Encouraging and thought provoking conversation boys. Thank you from Australia
Postmillennialism has changed my world view and my prayer life, thank you.

What do you believe now, out of curiosity?
Honestly idc about if there’s a rapture or not. I’m a Christian and I’m not afraid to die for Jesus. I think people who focus on the rapture are people who are scared of being faced with the decision to either worship the beast or die.

Do you think those who hold to the pre trib view do so because they fear persecution?
It will be time to "Choose you this day whom you will serve."
Our hope is not here, It's not meant to be here, Scripture does not teach us to have our hope here.

The death blows to that was:

Great convo. Loved it.
Well said and that's my understanding also.

(please bring the mic closer. The audio is quite distant with Mr. White) Thank you thank you
In the beginning of this video, are they referring to some movie or documentary or video of some kind that Wilson did on eschatology? If so, where can I watch this?
I wish I knew what they are talking about. What I could pick out was very interesting, and I can see they held a great conversation. It's just so many of the terms were never clarified. I guess this is for advanced intellects, not me.
One thing is true, our King is Christ in this world. In any world and every world, Christ Jesus is King of Kings. The PM view is life right about that!
Good conversation brothers!!
God bless 🙌✝️
I fully expect that in 10,000 years, I'll say, "I know lots more about God, but I still am not even dipping my toe into His Infinitude."
Some ask, "Is the glass half full?" Some ask, "Is the glass half empty?" I ask, "That's a fun sidebar conversation, and interesting thoughts.
Can someone tell me where to get a copy of the "Safe and effective" image?
When folks say “the end times”. What do they mean ? Specifically, what are they expecting to happen ?
Depending who you ask, the left behind movie...
Most references are to the end of the "age", occurring in AD70 with the destruction of the Temple in Jerusalem. This is the intention of the writers of Scripture. However, most people do not understand the context of Scripture and misapply the terms to be what they want them to be.
@@PilgrimNinja Not some, not even most but all references to the end of the age refer to AD70.
@@PilgrimNinja No, the end times refers to the times of the events leading up Christ's bodily return to earth in judgment. You are conflating the destruction of the temple (that generation and end of that age of temple worship) with things yet to come (the end times, the last days).
Read. Your. Bible.
Study the history of our translations.
Ask for guidance from Jesus alone.
More collaboration please
What video is James referencing at 4:51?
Okay Doug, you got me. With this understanding of John 3:16, how do you handle Matthew 22:14?
A sufficient answer here could convert me to a post millenial view.
What video is James referring to (one that helped convince him)?
Whether you lean to pre-, mid-, or post-trib anticipation of Jesu6s' Christ's return, our mission is to demonstrate the Gospel until He comes to setup His Kingdom on earth.
Interesting thoughts, thanks you. But please explain what you mean by he's gonna save the world? As in a lot of people in the last days, or as in a universalism approach?
Universalism Is Demonic Doctrines
I enjoy these conversations. I am not a Calvinist though, and that pertains to my question: why is the idea of Calvinism a deviding theology? If we cannot know the mind of God, and we do not let our own interpretations of people get in the way(wheat and the rates), the why does it matter? Just so long as Calvinists aren’t writing people off because they think someone is unsavable, then why does it matter?
What eschatology says "we're going to lose"? I'm confused...
I am sure that u studied preachers have heard and dealt with Isreal (and thus OT prophets) back in land after nearly 2000 years and returning to original Hebrew language also.
How do u reply?
