Thank you very much for comparing this with VMware during your explanation, that made it very easy to understand, really appreciated!

Hi Ken. Great video. may I know.do you setup any DNS server locally? How do resolve kvm.home.lab? is it the normal way where you modifiy the /etc/hosts?

If I recall correctly DNS was provided by my pfSense router at the time - now I run DNS out of a set of containers with my GoZones project that takes YAML defined DNS and creates BIND templates.

Nice, can you offer me any advice? I installed RHVH 4.4 on a bare metal server, I have cockpit running, but when I log in, I am missing the virtualization tab....the only way I can manage virtual machines currently is through the cockpit-machines addition (which shows up under the host tab)...which lacks a lot of functionality.

Hey - cockpit-machines is meant to manage KVM/Libvirt based packages. Try installing cockpit-ovirt-dashboard which should be the oVirt cockpit module that you're looking for.

If I have a bare metal with 32 GB RAM and 2TB server, I need 2 VMs of Redhat and want to deploy them using Red hat virtualization, how should I proceed? Can you please define the steps like?
    1. Burning RHVH ISO to a CD and installing it to the server
    2. Creating a VM for redhat virtualization manager
    3. Creating VMs using manager web gui?
    etc...

You'll need to burn the RHVH ISO to a CD/DVD and install it on your server, then you can follow the rest of the instructions from this video

Hi Ken, great video, thank you very much, very helpful. I'm struggling with the Engine VM FQDN and "The address proposed for this host does not resolves locally" ((btw yes it say "resolves" instead of resolve :) - typo )). I have an A and PTR record for the ""10.0.0.10 rhvm02.rhlab.lab"" entry in my DNS. All hosts resolve correctly, forward and reverse. network connection between hosts is good, even internet connectivity is ok, what am I doing wrong? It's just frustrating, and I literally went over dozen's of RH materials. ..

Hmm - does your RHV host that you're deploying RHV-{M,SHE} have multiple enabled NICs? I've found that when you're deploying the self-hosted-engine/manager, sometimes it'll jump NICs and if those NICs give out different DNS via DHCP then you may have issues. If so, then disable all other connections except the NIC you want your bridge interface to be, and then configure networking after the manager/SHE is deployed.
