    New Insane Cybertruck Tyres, Mission To Explore The Red Planet
    It can be said that the tire is the most special part of the Cybertruck monster. The new tire version of the Cybertruck is very unique, even it has never appeared on the EV market because it is a spaceship tire. It would be interesting if you could own a pickup truck with tires like a spaceship. So how are these tires designed? And what advantages does it have?
    Let’s find out in today’s episode of Tesla Car World !
    Welcome back to our channel. Before we begin, please show your support by subscribing, if you haven’t already, and ringing the bell so you won't miss out on any of our interesting videos in the future. Now, let’s get started with today's content !
    The US transport safety board says that over 30 000 incidents happen every year directly because of tire failures. These failures also happen on your way home. One hole in the rubber means that the whole thing has to be scrapped. This could account for up to 20% of all tires sold, amounting to 200 million tires thrown away each year, enough to build a tower 21 000 miles tall if the sides of the tires were stacked on top of each other.

      My first thought exactly. Not impossible to overcome but careful Tesla engineering will be required. Can't use metal covers because they will crush on the first impact with a rock or curb.

    Imagine if they made a custom design for the CT by which the supporting ribs were actually cup shaped and chevron away from the center of the vehicle to effectively provide paddleboat style propulsion while crossing rivers, essentially pulling the water from underneath the truck on the inside forward edge of the wheel and pushing to the outside and rear edge like an impeller.

    This was an interesting presentation of airless tires. And we saw many of them used on Chevrolets and forklifts and everything but cyber trucks. I never heard any Tesla employee referred to these tires and I never saw them on the cyber truck. Why didn’t you have video of them being used on a cyber truck or at least having someone at Tesla mentioned it?

    They'd better put SIDEWALLS on those tires to prevent capturing rocks or debris and clunking-bumpung every time the rock is at the bottom as well as making it "out of balance
    You'd have to pull off the road to dig out the rocks and debris.

  • @joostschure4190

    It's interesting, I wonder about a lot of things:
    The Tyre has rubber on the outside which needs to be flexible to have grip on the roads. And therefore in fight with the roads little chips break down. Ask formule-1 drivers, the softer the tyre, the better is grip on the tarmat, though softer tyres last less miles. So the lifetime of the tyre should be about the same. Then the tyre needs to be refurbished, which is very positive, because that consumers far less weight in comparison to conventional alternatives.
    Then my second thought, all materials suffer fatigueness, bend a teaspoon a few times over and the spoon will break. How about this property of the material used as springs in the sublayer. Is this consistent during the 50 years of lifetime? And consistency for the full range of temperatures? This is the limited factor for the wheel, I think the government wouldn't allow these tyres to be older than 10 years.
    I really like the concept of this new technology, and in contrary believe this tyre would cost the same as nice aluminium alloys, I can't understand why these would be that expensive.
    I would strongly advise the manufacturers to develop bio degradable materials for tyres, probably my friend Jessy from the TH-cam channel "Now you Know" would like to stydy about the used materials and report it online.

    • @vangildermichael1767
      @vangildermichael1767 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't think these will be made with any "natural" materials. Everything like how long it will last. Or how "soft". Or how grippy. All those properties will be like nothing I have ever seen. 50 years may be a "low ball" estimate of the duty cycle of these tires. But I don't think they would be impervious.

    Fantastic reporting. Hyper-interesting, well presented, and you use good graphics to tell the story. I LOVE the idea of a Cybertruck on Mars. I subscribed immediately. When you think about it, ALL of Elon's technologies will be useful on Mars. The boring tunneling machine, for example. And once you have tunnels, you can connect cities with them and run the trucks there. Exciting times ahead!

  • @DefundTheFringes

    Airless tires with those open walls (just a demo design?) would trap rocks & dirt off-road, crunching the innards. Bad info: 1:03 "One hole in the rubber tubing [not tubeless tires] means that the whole thing has to be scrapped?" Yet, you show a tire plug, which works well for many people.

    People who work on tires are known as tire men. I was in charge of building container chassis. The order was for 200 Chassis. That is a total of 1600 tires. The tire pressure was supposed to be at 85psi. Tube type tires. The production was appox 10 chassis per day. The tire man was not putting the required air pressure. I refused to sign-off on the chassis. When I got the production crew together and had the interpreter (this was in Japan) to repeat 'the tire man retired because he was tired of airing tires', They laughed, thereafter all of the tires had 85psi. Obviously Cybertruck's tires will not have the same constraint.

    Pneumatic tires you can deflate to get better area of contact that helps when you drive in packed snow

    • @qkktech
      @qkktech ปีที่แล้ว

      But when those tires can change contact surface then it might lead less traction to save energy and using less contact with surface may lead up to 15% more range and less road noise. When there are denser traffic then surface is aligned that leads less breaking distance.

    Goodyear said themselves their goal is to have airless tires ready by 2030… these will in no way be ready for the cybertruck and once they come out they will also be in no way exclusive to one vehicle.

      I know, but maybe this is the plan for Cybertruck in 2023 because airless is the future. Thanks for your comment and have a good day !

      They will most certainly be tested on the Cybertruck due to its ability to go places that Ford and Rivian will never get to see.

    Wait when they're full of mud and the resulting imbalance.

    this tire looks like it would be very susceptible to warpage. Leave it parked in the hot sun for too long with the weight of a car on them and they look like they would warp making the tire lop sided than try to drive at high sped with a warped tire...that's a recipe for disaster. But who nows maybe they are warp proof, and i am wrong. Either way ill wait for others to buy these very expensive tires before i even consider buying them.

    1:40 Cybertruck "monstrosity"? Why would you call it a monstrosity? I will assume you don't really understand what that word means.

    First of all you're talking more about the tires down the truck you don't have to use a cyber truck to talk about the tires just talk about the tires but I get it that's just the front
