  • A person’s relationship with sex and intimacy are often impacted after a cancer diagnoses. Changes in mood, comfort, energy, or hormone levels are extremely common, all of which can impact sexual desire and intimacy.
Earlier this year, the responses IGCS and IGCAN received from over 400 gynecologic cancer patient-survivors surveyed about survivorship issues indicated that many of them had sexuality-related concerns, but they received little to no support. One survivor noted "Sexuality-related support would have been most valuable as it's absolutely needed."
Hear what we learned from the patients participating in the survivorship survey and tips for dealing with intimacy issues. This discussion is meant for caregivers, patient-survivors, and clinicians wanting to learn how to open the lines of communication and provide support and education to better address concerns about sex during and after cancer treatment.
