I appreciate you guys effort in spreading financial literacy in the habesha community but I don't agree with the fact that you are spreading misinformation regarding owning a house. It is much better than renting depending on where you live. I would have paid for one bedroom in DMV area what I currently pay for my townhouse and can rent my basement and generate additional income. Yes, you have to pay property tax and insurance but it is included in the rent.
For young generations in America, succeeding academics is important. Without education for young women or men, you don’t get the highest management place, instead you get paid lower for work. It’s very important in America to succeed academics and graduating in a university.
But, society will always needs Healthcare professionals, Lawyers, Engineers etc. which you can get the credibility to work as such just by watching TH-cam. Much respect for those people perusing there Education. Don't let this "money talk" discourage you. Your perspective on housing has some truth but it contains a lot of junk. I like your podcast! and y'all should invite professionals pertaining to the topic your discussing.
Honestly, it's best to have your own gig, but it's totally fine to work for someone else for a bit to stack up some cash before starting your own thing. But sticking with that for 40-50 years? That's crazy as hell.
For my beautiful and innocent habesha people, don’t take such nonsense recommendation for IT, you will never go up the corporate ladder at the end of the day. Don’t take short cuts in first world countries, you have time + opportunity. They are telling you to eat/survive only! Good luck! DONT TAKE SHORT WAYS!
