The first story I narrate is the battle between Durga Maa and Madhu-Kaitabh, two asuras who were born from the earwax of Lord Vishnu during his deep slumber. Empowered by a boon, the demons wreaked havoc across the universe, threatening to disrupt the cosmic balance. However, Durga Maa, in her majestic form, manifested to stop their destructive forces. Watch as I recount how she outsmarted these mighty asuras and restored peace to the cosmos.
Following this, I narrate the story of Durga Maa’s battle with the buffalo demon, Mahishasur. Mahishasur, empowered by a boon that made him invincible against all men, became arrogant and terrorized the heavens and earth. But he underestimated the divine feminine power of Durga Maa. In an epic nine-day battle, she defeated him, marking one of the greatest victories of the goddess.
These stories not only reveal Durga Maa's divine strength but also emphasize her role as the protector of dharma (righteousness) and the destroyer of evil. As we celebrate Navaratri, we are reminded of her constant presence in our lives, guiding us toward the light, even in the darkest times.
