The character of Kattappa is somewhat similar to the character of Bheeshm from Indian Epic Story- Mahabharata, who dedicated his life to serve the thorne of his kingdom.
Another interesting facts is that bhallaldeva's father's character is based on dhritrashtra, who was a blind king, who couldn't show the right path to his sons, who died in the war of Mahabharata. In Mahabharata, Dhritrashtra is survives and groves for his sons. Similarly, bhallaldeva's father also survives in the movie but mahendra bahubali and his family accepts him because he is their grandfather.

Rana Daggubati, who played Bhallaladeva, is the best friend of Ram Charan, who played Ram in RRR. They went to school together, and they're friends still. (I feel sorry for the girls in the class trying to learn geometry and history while these two beautiful guy were there to distract them.)

Guys, watching live and you all are amazing as always. Believe me, guys, dont watch Sardar udham. It is very heavy, and because it's a true story, it's more touching. Lisa will cry a river.
They won't get the cultural and historical context.
It being a true story is the reason it is even more important to watch Sardar Uddham. And the crying usually lasts only for the initial 5-7 minutes.....after that u just sit there for next 20 odd minutes with disbelief and anguish.
You know what, Not just in Bahubali 1, Rajamouli has a Cameo in RRR too. Do you remember a slightly white and black bearded guy in the song sequence at the climax who hasn't been in the entire movie? Thats the Guy you're looking for, SSR! 💯

And Kattapa couldn´t let Sivagami defile her own soul by killing Bahubali. So he HAD to kill Bahubali in order to keep Sivagamis soul clean... but when he realised the betrayal he smeared Bahubalis blood on Sivagamis feet, which is also bad for her soul.

Lord Shiva and the divine plan is a recurring motif and essentially what binds the whole story together. If you think only about the story of Amarendra Bahubali, it didn't end well despite of him being a good man and a righteous 'king', but when you look at both the movies as a whole, you'd see that Mahendra Bahubali performed the ritual of 'rudrabhishek' - the ritual of bathing lord shiva with water, milk or blood, knowingly or unknowingly, for his adoptive mother, and all the impediments in his path are removed: he gets the mask, climbs the water mountain, reunites with his mother, brings the ones guilty for his father's death to justice, fulfils his destiny of becoming king. You'll see that when he finally confronts Bhallaldeva, and the fight is leaning to favor the latter, he again, unknowingly, does rudrabhishek with his blood and crushes his rival. The closing scene of this movie, where Bhallaldeva's head falls through the waterfall in front of Lord Shiva represents that Shiva will fulfill his promise to his devotees and the righteous.
Also, you'd find it interesting that both 'Amarendra' and 'Mahendra' literally mean 'the God/King of Gods', and are used for Lord Shiva. Also, Mahendra's foster parents call him 'Shivudu'.
Whatever you watched in this movie of both protagonist & antagonist their bodies are real and not CGI. They workout for everyday for 5 years. Diet including 50 egg whites a day and many more. It's their real body achieved through workouts. Thank you
