Also the audio is kinda broken, so it would be best to not use earplugs or headphones.
Another note, the voronoi texture doesn't wrap around the slash all the time. I tested it in the video and it made the voronoi texture not wrapped. But I tried it after making the video and it worked smoothly. So trying to figure out what is the problem exactly, but it seems like making a new material, assigning it to the slash, and switching back to the material you are making works.
If there are any questions about the tutorial, please ask so that I can make it better.

I don't understand, what do you mean by "assigning i o the slash and switching back to the material"? When I tried to make a new texture, it still wouldn't work.

@@MwSama To be honest, the thought of making an animation in blender and turning them into a flipbook just hadn't crossed my mind, if you made a video on different kinds of flipbooks you could make like explosions or sparks or something that would be super interesting
WhispyDispy I actually have made explosions. It actually looks pretty nice and especially useful because then I don’t have to create meshes for explosions. You can see the results of it on some of my other videos. But I forgot which one it was.

7:10 the reason for this is the unwarpping. If you do most of the editing outside of edit mode, or don't apply the scale you will get something similar to what you got.
Cool tip: If you want to add more detail to your slashing thing, you can simply add a noise texture before the voronoi texture, adjust the scaling, roughness and detail values to your liking!

u can change filmic modes / contrast setting for the render to get rid of the washed out color or just do it as adjustment layer in photoshop instead of cleaning it up by hand

Tip for the finalizing texture: There is a way to remove the entire background to a Transparent rather than just a black background:
Before rendering, in the Film Option in Render Properties, you can check Transparent and the entire background transparent rather than a black screen, this will save the pain process of manually removing the black areas left over.
Doing this alternative makes the flames yellow. I recommend using the black background even though it takes awhile to remove the black parts, it still leaves some black parts behind but, *if* you making a demon slayer flame effect the black parts help give it the anime look.

25:03 To speed up making the sprite sheet somewhat, do yourself a favor when selecting the black pixels by unchecking the "contiguous" option that is present at the top when using the magic wand tool. Now not just one connected area of the target black color is selected, and you only have to make a single selection :) Hopefully that will save someone some unnecessary tedium.

I only had my right earbud in and got really confused just watching all these different clips waiting for the video to start
At around 10:38 I try adding the color to the second color ramp but the only color that appears is the color farthest to the right
First make sure u are copying the exact nodes. And try moving the color sliders to see if it affects the color. If u still have a problem, join my discord and send a picture of ur shade editor

This is a really helpful video, and the slash I made worked great in studio, but when I tried looking at it in game, the effect was just the sprite sheet. Do you have any idea what I can do to fix this?
The effect is just a sprite sheet because the particle flip book is still a beta feature. But I believe it will be an actual feature in roblox in the future. Just like how it took a while to have custom materials, I think it will take a few months till release. U can also check out my slash tutorial series which actually works, but u will have to script the slash for ur weapons.

When you are in the Color part of this tutorial, for the 2nd color ramp, in your tutorial, the two colors mix together. I'm trying to make a fiery slash, and only the color on the right side of my slider works. How can I fix this?

Pro-tip to skip "deleting the black parts" for your image,
in blender, before you render be sure to go to "scene" it's the little tab on your right hand side. Then go to film and select "transparent". This will help save time :)
TLDR: Scene > Tab> Film > Toggle transparent in Blender.
Unfortunately, this won't work if you are trying to render a shader that has emission. That's why I didn't render the scene with the transparent option on.

Great tutorial Thanks! But how do i actually make it work, like how do i make it work on a actual character with sword animations
Well I’m actually going to make a 2nd video on this later, not any time soon, because I realized that animated mesh sword slashes are much better. But for the most part from this video, I use the same concepts. If u want to use this tutorial though, u need to instance an attachment and put it under humanoid root part. Then u need clone sword slash emitter, then parent it to attachment. Afterwards u need to adjust the attachment orientation so that when u emit the particle emitter, it looks look like a sword slash. Definetely not the best idea which is why I want to make another video, but hopefully this helps u.

If u wanna make it 8x8 u need to render 64 images. Make sure u increment each frame by a certain amount so that u can render 64 images of ur slash. Ur increment is going to smaller than the one I showed in this tutorial
