I’m down here in Vero beach. I have multiple mangroves already rooted in outdoor ponds, tubs and tanks if you plan to head south for any reason. Or I can send you unrooted pods by mail. Tis the season for them. Dm me if you’re interested. This is turning out to be a cool looking setup. I look forward to the updates.
It's been a while since I could make it to your live stream, but I want to say I think you are not far from mangrove pods or someone who has them rooting
@@LRBaquatics Hello Lucas, for tanks with a lid on top, do the fish need an oxygen filter, considering that it is completely covered? I ask because I want to buy an aquarium and I don't know which is the best choice, the one with a lid or without a lid, what about you? what do you think? Thank you for your kindness and I wish you all the best.
@ yes if your going to use a tight closed lid you should use airline. You can use or make a lid out of mesh then you wouldn’t need the airline since it would let air flow.
Glad to see you developing a houseplant-ed tank! Ficus species like fiddle leaf fig, ginseng ficus, even rubber tree could work. Also waxmyrtle which should be growing wild in your area, taller reed plants like equisetum, giant hairgrass or other Elocharis species that may also be growing wild. Good luck!
An actual tree that loves wet roots is the alder tree. It grows next to creeks and rivers and flood zones. The cones are used in tanks a lot for tannins and shrimp. You could try growing it from seed and if it gets too big you could plant it on your property. Free botanicals
@@LRBaquatics Actually, if you can find a grove with several seedlings of different sizes you can make forest/grove style composition across all three tanks. Then maybe some emersed Eleocharis species have the grassy look.
I think some liriope would look cool. I've had it in straight water in a tank just didn't have enough light for it but it stayed well/green for a long time then I just removed it. It will also get flowers as I'm sure Lady LRB knows.
My hibiscus trees grow well in HOB filters or clipped to the inside of the tank. Have a couple videos on it. Plus you get the huge beautiful hibiscus 🌺 blooms
Thanks for the ideas everyone! The umbrella trees were rotting. It cut them off. I have one that’s growing successfully in my aquarium. I likely need to water root them before placing them in this new setup. Stay tuned!! ❤
On the off chance you want a full spectrum led. I LOVE the hygger! I have it on my 125 and it has full 10k lumens. So the hight is not a problem. They are easily programmable and have an optional night (blue moon) light.
10k works good for you? I dabbled with 10k years ago but from what I recall no t as potent for plants as a 6500k. What the name of the light? I’ll check it out
I cant wait to see does paludariums fully grown. I am trying to think what would be a good animal to have on the dry area of the paludarium. I was thinking of a mini crab, but i dont know if they will eat some of the plants 😅
I forgot my lights are linkable… I do have wire hangers… but also wouldn’t mind trying something different. My whole fish room is run off those 4ft linkable leds. I try to steer towards 6k-6500k blue spectrum grows better than red.
This is seriously awesome Lucas!!! Looks amazing!

Looks awesome! Looking forward to see how this grows out
Flag stone idea for a background is a brilliant! That grass in the aquarium looks like a nutsedge.
Cool I think it is nutsedge I have some grass like that in my yard. It’s crazy when you google it all I see is how to kill it.

Looking good thanks for sharing 😊
Hell yea! Sweet setup. Would be cool to get some mudskippers or butterfly fish in there
You might be able to collect a bald cypress seedling where you are and they will do great with wet roots.
That’s a really good idea

@ I like that too
Great idea! They grow in a hidden gem in Delaware called trap pond. Please keep you state parks clean!
I love it, and look forward to watching it grow out.

The retaining wall was such a cool idea, I really like how it came out aesthetically
Thanks! It will be my little island.
Wow, really cool🎉

That’s cool and good to know. Thanks for sharing haven’t heard or thought of that one. I love the idea of something that flowers.
Looks great! I’m super jealous!!!!
fittonia would look good around the edge of the rock walls. cant wait to see how these turn out. looks cool though 😎

You could add large pieces of driftwood coming out the top and attached bromeliads and air plants
Mangroves. I have some growing in a fish bowl. Got the seed pods from Etsy

Sansi grow bulbs, have been working well for I.
Also some vine plants I use in my set up is creeping fig and string of turtles
Is that grass bulb a sandspur?! 😮
Cool man 🤙

Where did you get that wonderful flat rock? I could really use some like that for a hillstream tank I'm building.
Local landscape company
willow trees like wet roots.
you can just take a cutting and stick it in the wet soil and it will grow
spray bottle with super fine misting will settle the film and dust from the yard sand✌✌
Good tip
Peace Lily, spider plant, bonsai ficus plant
A few of these might work. BRAUN 5500 Lumen, 4 ft. Linkable LED Hanging Shop Light
I forgot my lights are linkable… I do have wire hangers… but also wouldn’t mind trying something different. My whole fish room is run off those 4ft linkable leds. I try to steer towards 6k-6500k blue spectrum grows better than red.
I root umbrella trees out of my tanks all the time. They will work.
These were cuttings so I’m hoping it’s just a phase and they pull through. I love the look of them and fairly quick grower and easy to bonsai.
Mangrove trees
Imo vain sorry
