Did you find many ships on the go? i've been wandering the area for a while, and hardly any shooting going on. Mostly they fight eachother but never really finish.
Just started with this game (5 hours in), and I've seen a few video's here and there, but this Getting Started is really really helpful! - very clear explanation on what's important in the beginning and what's not - the scope of the video is perfect: I watch one video, and then play for 2 hours myself, internalizing the stuff that's mentioned. It's a good amount of info, so you don't forget anything, but are also not overloaded with info. - along the way you get useful info on modules, why they're used, how they're used, why you do or don't need them right now - avoiding the grind - great narrator voice! a tip u forgot to mention is before going to the extraction site to make sure and visit a station that way if u do get blown up u will restart at the last visited station > if u dont visit a station after u enter the system and go straight to resource and get blown up ur going to have to do the whole traveling again > if u land in a station and u end up dying u will simply respawn at the station u last visited :) save yourself time. Also to make it easier for new players as soon as u start buy a standard docking computer that way your ship will automatically look for the landing place and dock and u dont have to do a thing > sometimes the AI goes really slow so u gotta be patient but not always and that aside its an automatic dock so u dont have to look for the station entrance or ur landing pad
@@Asgardians3t Amazingly I got a decent tech station with no doc computer recently, I couldn't believe it I thought they were everywhere so worth remembering if you need one to check first. It could have been a bug maybe, I even tried restarting the game.
-Go to Resource extraction site, -Wait till you see Lots of ships shooting at a ship, -scan the ship being shot and wait till you see wanted -shoot it after all the other ships have nearly blown it up (within 20 seconds of it exploding) keep doing this to all the new spawned in ships being shot at by federal ships till you have enough money then cash the bounties in a space station.
@@alextowers7564 if you see system defense firing on a ship you dont need to wait for wanted. Scan all ships and anything you havent scanned is usually a baddie. Occasional unwanted wing but theyll never be shot at by sys def
I have been playing for a year now. And have got over 1.5 Billion credits and Fed Corvette but still found your video informative with very good and well put information, I wish that I had that when I started
Wow i been playing for just over a week mate but had the game bout 3 weeks, i basically followed this... done it... got better, re started the game again from start as i made a few mistakes at 1st with 6 day bounties on me after a few beams in wrong direction, etc,etc!!! lol. I am now with 4.5 million in a day and a half and also about to purchase a Cobra mrk3...... great ship...... good choice Dirty old man... for the price it wins hands down the cobra mrk 4 by a mile, mrk 3 is way cheaper faster and more nimble in all categories.

Just started and I want to say thanks. This helps me a lot. VERY clean and good information, nice delivery. I will be fallowing each of your videos as I progress. I was stuck making zero money, been trying really hard it's just a crap shoot. I used to fly flight sims from DCS, AW ect. Really enjoy this game.
As an ED beginner I must say I found this tut to be an absolute killer. For me, in the state of the game I was when finding this, it just made the in-game life so much easier. So many useful tips, and a really easy to follow tutorial. It didn't take too many hours for me to be able to switch from the Sidewinder to a DBE, fully equipped for exploration. But as David says, it's when you think you've got the hang of it and feel everything is going smoothly you're going to get sloppy. Had to use booth of the backup sites (thank you David for also taking that into account in the video ).
I don't normally comment/like/or sub but this was a really great video thanks ! No silly OTT adolescent music and effect just straight forward information and clear instruction , this has helped my first day of ED dramatically.

Great video with tons of tips and information all the way! I played a lot of original Elite on my brother´s Amiga 500 back in the days. Then I bought this game when it was in Beta but put it down just after a hour of gameplay. Luckily a friend of mine turned onto PC gaming recently and made me give the game another go. And with a video like this it helps me enjoy the "new" Elite so much more. Subbed!

Once I got the approach right and jumped out of cruise safely everything worked just like you said it would. Spent a little over an hour and made 300k. I need to learn how to use my radar to find ships. Thanks Again!
Very informative, and reassuring for a beginner like me, I'm a an Original 'Elite' Veteran which started playing Elite when it came out first on the BBC Micro! Then played it on the Amiga A600, Reached Elite Status and had the biggest ship and MIlitary Lasers and Engines etc, absolutely brilliant game and so pleased this has came out again on the X-Box One, yes I know I'm a bit late starting but OMG what a game, and graphics are superb. They will say stuff like "On this screen you can see this is happening..." or "On this screen you do this..." While I am still trying to find out what part of the screen he is talking about he moves on to the next pearl of wisdom he wishes to share. But you tell us what to look for, what it means to us and why we need to be able to recognise this reading or do whatever. They don't seem to understand the what, where, when, how, and why, consept of conveying information. Subscribed. Also wrote down the channel name so I can tell others where to go for the good stuff. Bravo Zulu.
I appreciate your comments. None of my videos are monetised. I only do them to help people. The other guys do them for money, and to get the best TH-cam promotion, they have to be less than 10 mins. Generally, I have sympathy for these guys, but one time, I found a unique way to make boatload of cash by doing skimmer missions, so made a video about it and posted links on the main forums. A couple of weeks later one of the well known content makers plagiarised it and refused to even credit me with the discovery. He got 56k views. I got 3k.

I can't thank you enough for this strategy. I was on the fence when I bought this game because of the mixed reviews, but your video helped me get past the money issue. Sure, some may call it a "combat grind", but it sure beats scavenging for resources on a planet for hours and hours just for a few thousand credits! This way we get to familiarize ourselves with the flight and combat system while not getting killed over and over, and get credits for practice. Thank you so much sir!

I mean I'm quite new so I have a lot to learn regardless but these little bits and pieces are so helpful. I hated going into conflict areas because I didn't know you have to let the feds to the work. Definitely going to practice more with my sidewinder to build my combat rank without losing tons with my courier. Anyway, another awesome video man thanks

This helped me out a lot. I messed up twice by shooting the cops and not waiting for the wanted text to show. So I watched the vid again and I just made it back with 1.5 mil. Really good info thanks for the vid.

Great vid. Took me two days to get to bloody Brani 13 because of incompetence, but once I was there the Cr rolled in. Not as quickly as you as I suck at combat but 732,000 as opposed to the 1,000 mission they offer you - no brainer!

I got the game 2 days ago. I flew to brani and the security forces got their asses handed to them lol. I don't know if this was a glitch or something but I'll give it a try again soon. thanks for taking the time to make videos explaining stuff to the new players.
Thanks chap i damn ended up making an ass load just doing low risk ones still finding 100-200k bounties after a few of those poked around and found your vid. Im already in a somewhat kitted viper 3 and this method is great cause i can take a few hits and dish out 60-80 damage with railguns or missiles, im quite good with those rail guns if i can wait till their shields are offline and tag em for 120 they usually pop
I just made 2.2 million credits in just over 2 hours from your advice.. and wasted a fair amount of time getting killed by federation for i have no idea reason (docking issues, probably taking too long and loitering in the stations) Excellent advice and stellar job!
All new PS4 players... You've probably searched this looking for Advise, and I'm please to say this video is very good. Although there are a few changes since it was made. 1. Starter system Bakers is 100 Light Years away from Brani and your standard Siderwider doesn't have a big enough jump range for some of the 20 jumps you'll need to make. 2. As per the above grind out 52K for a Hauler and store your Siderwider. Then have it transfer once you make it to Brani via the ship yard. 3. Then search Brani from the Galaxy Map. You'll not find it by randomly looking. 4. Make plenty of fuel stops along the 20 jumps. I got stuck in deep space on an empty tank. Not fun. 5. Spawn rates have been changed so your looking at 500K per hour. But that still bloody good a beginner level. Don't forget to cash and save often. PS4 has a dirty habit of crashing. Don't risk and hours work for blue screen of death. Finally credit to the video maker. Great vid.
Good points. You can go to the nav beacon in any starter system and kill a few bad guys there to get enough credits to upgrade the FSD on your Sidewinder and add a fuel tank or fuel scoop to get to Brani, or you can find any nearby high RES. there's nothing special about Brani, except that it's near to LHS 3447, which is one of the main starter systems. The spawn rates vary each time you visit. it's still possible to make over a million an hour at Brani if you jump in and out until you get a big ship spawn.

Haha, i'm the stubborn type that doesn't like looking at guides, so i would always look for wanted people with lower levels when i started out and interdict them. I recieved many of ass whoopings in a little eagle and definitely wish i knew this before. Thanks for the info, definitely useful for everyone.
I'm 45 years old, been watching youtube vids for many years, and have found nothing wrong at all with the length of the video. I prefer the longer videos whether it is repeated info or not as it allows it sink in the brain the more you hear the same thing. I really hope the David doesn't take advice from below and shorten them. Its really hard to find a YTer that can explain everything about a game as simple as possible, especially as one as complex as this. You have a Sub for the life of the game. An apprentice so to speak :) Thank you David. I'm UK also not that it makes any difference. As a side note, as I am very new to the game. Has this way of making lots of money now been changed? Can you no longer do this, or are there now better methods?
There's always a lot of ships to shoot in a high RES. if you don't see many, either you're in an ordinary or low resource extraction site, or you're not dropping out when you get the blue "safe disengage" on your HUD.

Thank god I watched this video, I got the game a few days ago and was losing the will to live transporting data for 20 minutes only to get about 20k credits. Will be doing this tonight!
You're not the only one. Note that there's a later version of this video if you look in my channel. It's somewhere around 4th from last video. Something like "make 3 million in your first two hours".
one thing you left out is that you can also go to a nav beacon and do your bounty hunting there, few police to help you take out large ships and not get in the way as much, I got 4 big bounty around the nav beacon area.

well if you followed this video exactly he says go to the station to get fuel which you will need in order to even get to this planet....

Don't even bother waiting, just select ships in your contacts, scan them and do that until you find one that's wanted

I mean I'm quite new so I have a lot to learn regardless but these little bits and pieces are so helpful. I hated going into conflict areas because I didn't know you have to let the feds to the work. Definitely going to practice more with my sidewinder to build my combat rank without losing tons with my courier. Anyway, another awesome video man thanks
Great suggestion and great video, I did that and I managed to make 2.7mil in 2 expeditions into High Res :D I even got lucky and got several hundred thousand credits targets. Subscribed and can't wait for more videos. Thanks a lot.
This helped me out a lot. I messed up twice by shooting the cops and not waiting for the wanted text to show. So I watched the vid again and I just made it back with 1.5 mil. Really good info thanks for the vid.

Great vid. Took me two days to get to bloody Brani 13 because of incompetence, but once I was there the Cr rolled in. Not as quickly as you as I suck at combat but 732,000 as opposed to the 1,000 mission they offer you - no brainer!

I got the game 2 days ago. I flew to brani and the security forces got their asses handed to them lol. I don't know if this was a glitch or something but I'll give it a try again soon. thanks for taking the time to make videos explaining stuff to the new players.

Thanks chap i damn ended up making an ass load just doing low risk ones still finding 100-200k bounties after a few of those poked around and found your vid. Im already in a somewhat kitted viper 3 and this method is great cause i can take a few hits and dish out 60-80 damage with railguns or missiles, im quite good with those rail guns if i can wait till their shields are offline and tag em for 120 they usually pop
I just made 2.2 million credits in just over 2 hours from your advice.. and wasted a fair amount of time getting killed by federation for i have no idea reason (docking issues, probably taking too long and loitering in the stations) Excellent advice and stellar job!
Just bought the game a month ago..frustrated but i'm watching and trying to learn. Patience is definitely needed for this game..on PC of course ;)

You've probably searched this looking for Advise, and I'm please to say this video is very good. Although there are a few changes since it was made.
1. Starter system Bakers is 100 Light Years away from Brani and your standard Siderwider doesn't have a big enough jump range for some of the 20 jumps you'll need to make.
2. As per the above grind out 52K for a Hauler and store your Siderwider. Then have it transfer once you make it to Brani via the ship yard.
3. Then search Brani from the Galaxy Map. You'll not find it by randomly looking.
4. Make plenty of fuel stops along the 20 jumps. I got stuck in deep space on an empty tank. Not fun.
5. Spawn rates have been changed so your looking at 500K per hour. But that still bloody good a beginner level.
Don't forget to cash and save often. PS4 has a dirty habit of crashing. Don't risk and hours work for blue screen of death.
Finally credit to the video maker. Great vid.
Good points. You can go to the nav beacon in any starter system and kill a few bad guys there to get enough credits to upgrade the FSD on your Sidewinder and add a fuel tank or fuel scoop to get to Brani, or you can find any nearby high RES. there's nothing special about Brani, except that it's near to LHS 3447, which is one of the main starter systems.
The spawn rates vary each time you visit. it's still possible to make over a million an hour at Brani if you jump in and out until you get a big ship spawn.

Haha, i'm the stubborn type that doesn't like looking at guides, so i would always look for wanted people with lower levels when i started out and interdict them. I recieved many of ass whoopings in a little eagle and definitely wish i knew this before. Thanks for the info, definitely useful for everyone.

I'm 45 years old, been watching youtube vids for many years, and have found nothing wrong at all with the length of the video. I prefer the longer videos whether it is repeated info or not as it allows it sink in the brain the more you hear the same thing. I really hope the David doesn't take advice from below and shorten them. Its really hard to find a YTer that can explain everything about a game as simple as possible, especially as one as complex as this. You have a Sub for the life of the game. An apprentice so to speak :) Thank you David. I'm UK also not that it makes any difference.
As a side note, as I am very new to the game. Has this way of making lots of money now been changed? Can you no longer do this, or are there now better methods?

I barely have many ships spawn, well in comparison to you, awesome video though its helped me an insane amount. I'll start part two sometime tomorrow!
There's always a lot of ships to shoot in a high RES. if you don't see many, either you're in an ordinary or low resource extraction site, or you're not dropping out when you get the blue "safe disengage" on your HUD.

Thank god I watched this video, I got the game a few days ago and was losing the will to live transporting data for 20 minutes only to get about 20k credits. Will be doing this tonight!

You're not the only one. Note that there's a later version of this video if you look in my channel. It's somewhere around 4th from last video. Something like "make 3 million in your first two hours".
one thing you left out is that you can also go to a nav beacon and do your bounty hunting there, few police to help you take out large ships and not get in the way as much, I got 4 big bounty around the nav beacon area.
Great tutorial, I been doing courier runs for the last 6 hours & got barely 100K, lots of other great tips too
