    I have a tortoiseshell Estie with a fine nib that I love. I had not thought I needed another Estie, but that red is scrumptious, and the specialty nib by Gina Salorino is very tempting ... 🤔

    That pen does remind me of a cherry Jell-O salad. My mother still has her Tupperware gelatin mold and she does make Jell-O and she puts fruit it. Thanks for your video presentation.

    This may be the first time I bought the pen before you reviewed it! I am a huge fan of the Esties and I knew I had to have this one. I may need to get that Cherry Danish ink now...I might like it better than the Diamine Wild Strawberry I am using now.

    $156 is a bit pricey (for me at least), an while the acrylic does look nice it kinda reminds me of #7/raspberry from penbbs. But the new Narwhal demonstrator definitely peeked my intrest, keep up the good work.

    Great review! I have the Palladium oversized version. I have quickly fallen in love. My preferred passion happens to be red. Red fountain pen, red inks. The oversize version reminds me of perhaps a Montblanc 146, maybe slightly girthier, but as someone who loves big pens, I am enjoying it very much. The nib is really smooth. I have an extra-fine nib.

    Dave....I’m into reds, so to me the pen is beautiful! I would probably loaded it with a color closer to the pen’s color. I don’t have that sensor that makes some folks think certain reds are “too much”. Love that spring action too, especially if it keeps the ink inside fresher. Great review. Thanks!

      The Large Esti is about the size of a Montblanc 146.

    I believe the Furore Grande has a #6 size nib just like the Momento Zero Grande. I wonder why Esterbrook would make a clip out of solid palladium as opposed to a common steel?

    • @FigbootonPens
      @FigbootonPens  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The Furore Grande I showed is one which will be released in November. The nib is larger than on other current models.

      That makes sense, as I always felt that the #6 on my M.Z.Grande looks undersized.

    I never know what I’ll garner from your video. I love red inks- and I have a love-hate relationship with Monteverde inks. But the Cherry Danish will join the shoebox full of other reds. Much of my correspondence is done in red. Many thanks. I should show my appreciation more often. Your reviews are perfect length, perfect info. The only way this could be better- is if you looked and dressed like a VS supermodel. 😃. Keep up the good work.

    Nice color but I do have to say, I disagree, $150 for what really is a standard acrylic pen with a mass produced steel nib: I do think it's about $65 overpriced. Wait.. has no one yet taking exception to the sprung cap liner "inspired by" another manufacturer? (just thought it might be mentioned)

    • @Adkaid
      @Adkaid 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Agreed

    • @rztour
      @rztour 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not justifying the price, but I think Dave mentioned the brand name on the pen is filled with gold paint. Ironically it’s one of the few close-up shots that had me thinking “oh boy...what’s gold paint gonna do to the price?” Guess that helped up the price. How about don’t use gold paint and make it a $100 pen?

    • @martinlebl631
      @martinlebl631 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Depends who is being "inspired," if it is western brand it is apparently OK, but if it is a low cost brand from China, then obviously it is IP misappropriation instead. As long as we have standards. Or as long as it is a brand that sends samples for review, then it is OK? Take your pick. You should always call it out, or never mention it. But taking one review down on ethical grounds, and then just mentioning it in passing, if at all, seems like there are two different standards that various makers get held up to. Hardly fair is it? But perhaps that is the cherry on top of this unpleasant sundae.

      I have got the same opinion, especially for the oversized version.....it is overpriced for being made in Taiwan. I have bought a Gioia Alleria, totally made in Italy, and it is a great pen and more beautiful.

      No, you're wrong. This is the most well priced and the most value one could get for the money, I mean a C/C with an acrylic body and paired with a steel Jowo nib? Take my money already, no one's done this before.
      Having an adapter available but isn't provided with the pen, shut up! How'd they know I'd like to fork over my money for no reason.
      Using such a unique shape that totally hasn't been done over 100 times and uses a capping system that is 100% unique and doesn't already exist in a cheaper and nicer pen, absolute foolishness. How can you call this overpriced?
