Tuxedomoon.... I think the most amazing musical performances I've ever seen... I remember the Gigant in Apeldoorn, in Amsterdam and latest in Amstelveen. So many years ago.. And I agree, we are all victims of the dance and time...
Winston Tong's contributions are always some of my favorite Tuxedomoon moments but it's hard to describe why. there's just something about his awkward delivery that keeps your attention. the songs they do without him tend to be pretty tightly structured and he sort of forces them out of that by putting in a line or word that doesn't fit the meter here or an odd spoken tangent there and then he returns to his theme while the rest of the musicians build a sort of context for him by noodling around on their individual bits.
First time I saw Tuxedomoon was somewhere in 1981? @ doornroosje Nijmegen, after that the Mazzo and Paradiso in Amsterdam. This band remained one of my favorites
@ZLUGGO Very good question.... I believe he speaks in "Broken English".... just found my old vinyl..... Saw 'em all in Paris after an eventfull and very cold journey from Bournemouth, England about five years ago.... had been waiting twenty years.... all was forgiven..... we ARE all victims of the dance!!!
Satonya, this video was published in 2007 as part of the DVD accompanying the release of Tuxedomoon's 30th Anniversary boxed set ("77o7"). Zluggo: Winston Tong is American but, indeed, of Chinese ascent

I love this band!
Always great lyrics with interesting music to break from the lull.
