Hi Jules, thank you so much for following up with me, how nice of you. I haven't done the actual assembly yet, but I have had a lot of fun collecting all the tiny little folders and envelopes to add to the cute little bags that I have collected from every craft store in my area. I am looking forward to making the little book, and have some really pretty sari ribbons to use for the bindings. Hobby Lobby has the most adorable little tiny envelopes and little file folders, tiny doll size which are perfect for the book. Thank you again for sharing the lovely video. gail
Love this idea! I am just getting started making mini albums...ok, any albums and these would give me the confidence to finally jump in and give it a try! Thanks for the inspiration!!!
wow I have Bren wondering how to attach seam binding or ribbon to the side like that I can't wait to try this thanks so much , your work never ceases to amaze me
There's over 13,000 now....which is good right? I'm grateful for whomever watches. I hope to inspire is all! Thanks for watching and commenting, that was sweet! xo Jules:)
Jules Aviles Hello. new sub here. your work is so beautiful! I am just beginning to create junk journals and am learning a lot. Wishing you a great day.tfs
may be I did not make myself understood, I wanted to say that I loved your tutorial and the easy way to bind and that I have spent a lot of time in other difficult kind of bindings with little succes. I love your works and will follow your channel .thanks for sharing
Thanks so much for sharing this wonderful tutorial. It is so nicely explained and your filming is excellent, we can see your hands and movements perfectly. I also love the colors and sweet collection of papers.
Gail, thank you so much for your comment:) I hope you've been able to make one of these cuties yourself and enjoy it, if not I hope so soon!! The books are holding up well to and they are just too cute! Thanks again for watching, have a great day!! xo Jules
Hello Ann Marie! I agree on the scraps...I feel horrible tossing even the littlest of pieces! LoL...but this is a fun cute project to use those scraps on! Have fun with it!! and thanks for watching! xo, Jules;)
Hi Jules! Oh my goodness, such a Darling mini!! Really love how you used the seam binding! Thanks so much for the tutorial, can't wait to try this! :) Off to watch your other videos...you are so talented! :)
Hi Barbara! I did leave a link in the description box for you guys! I also just did a haul video of some new ones I got from the same shop on etsy! Hope you can get ya some....they are so super gorgeous! Thanks for watching! xo, Jules:)
Hello there! :) Thanks so much for watching! I have links above in the description box of references for where to find the supplies you need! Thanks again!:) Jules
@ibkristykat Hey there! I'm not sure what kind it's called but I use Seam Binding from Wild Orchid Crafts and from a friend of mine, Patsy! Her link is in the description box below the video. For WOC I'll message you a link:)TFW! Jules:)
@ibkristykat Both websites ship pretty fast, Patsy ships 1st class (2-4 days) and WOC is 7 days max:) But I know what you mean. I have purchased seam binding from Joann's and it will work....color it up, wrinkle it and heat set it or let it sit and dry!! It's thin, like satin or silk...If the package says seam binding it should work, the differences might be the width or brand name...but it should do fine. All my seam binding is 1/2" wide! :) Yeah to be PM'd...it's Ok!! Have fun! Jules:)
Hi Jules~ Another lovely creation by you! This booklet/album is just adorable. And made out of little bags, no less. So do you reinforce the binding side paper with anything?? It seems to me like it would need to be reinforced somehow! The seam tape you are using for the binding is a great idea and it looks really good. I just MIGHT try my hand at one of those! Thanks for such inspiring videos! You make such pretty things!
Hey there! Thanks so much for that! You're soo sweet:) I still have these and have not needed to reinforce them at all. Granted I haven't put pics in them yet, but I've moved them around quite a bit. One thing you could do is use a full strip of paper to go over the folded side where the binding is so it's not just the paper bag that is exposed. So instead of a small square to use as a photo mat on one side of a page, I would use a full strip to adhere from one end of the bag to the other and do that on both sides of the bag pages. I hope that makes sense! :) I'm so glad you liked this project, it's a favorite of mine for sure!! Hugs, Jules:)
@jannaviles I'm like the prices on that site! 5 yds for 1.50 essentially - niiiice... I went to Michael's & got "double folded" of black (real thin when folded), and "single folded" of white so I could color it (I hadn't read this reply before going but knew to just get simple black & white -- I have like 34 colors of Distress Ink now soo - hehe... yeah it colored up nicely for the one I made for a friend... Thanks so much!!
hehe.. OK. have a dumb question. I'm not a sewing person - not yet really... I went to JoAnn's trying to find "seam binding" and found none. They showed me different kinds of strips of "fabric" that they say is USED to bind seams, but.. the texture looked all wrong for most of them, which is what I was mostly going by... so - what kind of seam binding is it you used?
@ibkristykat ok...so you disabled that feature!!! :) Wild orchid crafts has a website, just do a dot com after the name in the web browser and type in seam binding in the search box and there it will be! :)
Super cute! I'd like to make them but first I have to find that ribbon bias tape. Did you find yours in a store or did you have to order it? TFS this super cute project. ; )
Oh wow..did you really!?!! I would love to see it:) do you post videos? Please let em know or email a picture, I would really love to see it! xo, Jules
Hi. I'm new to papercrafting and love your little micro bag. Adorable! I was wondering where you purchased the seam ribbon. I've looked in Michaels, Hobby Lobby and Joanns with no luck. giovanna andolina Of course that's fine if you don't want to do these. This was only my 2nd time doing it and it wasn't difficult at all! as you play around more with altering projects you'll find yourself doing bigger and sometimes more difficult stuff. I was fine spending the time doing this, it was fun for me. I was just showing people what I did and how I did it. thanks for watching! 😊
@jannaviles oh ok... kinda needing it now. I'll see what I can do with stuff bought at Michael's etc... for now anyway. Christmas presents & I wanna get them done, got lots more to make too so.... thanks though. (what was disabled? being private messaged? i didn't even realize... lol sorry!)
