Wahoo Boat 1989 16.2 Dual Console Project - Maiden Voyage | Yamaha 70hp 2 Stroke 1990 Restored

One month later of roughly 100 hours put in to this boat and motor we were ready to take her out to sea.
We launched out of Newport harbor (Dunes) on 7/12 from low to high tide.
She fired up no problem and gave us ZERO issues while out at sea. Started up every time, ran at low rpm and idled no problem. We were able to fish for a little bit, catch some fish and most importantly see how she handled at near full throttle outside of the harbor. (We didn’t want to go wide open throttle yet on her first day).
All in all, Great dry ride. Took to plane fairly well. Definitely true what they say a Boston whaler clone except we couldn’t stop talking about the dual console and deck lay out. It had a nice easy deck to fish from and a great space to sit or lay. Felt very stable from all angles. I didn’t bring the cushions out this day but am sure with them on a cruise around the harbor would be an amazing day.
