@@matthewhaverly3108 nothing important but if u r the opponent its annoying coz i hav played enough against screaming players and its a great sense of satisfaction when u win against them.
@@matthewhaverly3108 Well, first screaming is something you do to pump yourself up, so if you don't need to scream to win I consider it a plus. Second, screaming is something that can be really annoying both to your contender (which makes him more error prone and the match less of a fair play if the other doesn't use it against you as well) Third Harimoto is not the only player who screams when winning points but he is certainly the loudest and that's why most people are annoyed by him. He is just too much. You can hear him scream even if you are watching other matches.

I really like Koki niwa, he's very calm, and also very talented, as several players have already studied the garish and false Japanese, and they have it neutralized
Niwa is a great player ,he is really good ,he blocks and he atacc perfectly,Harimoto is too young but a great player he is good too but i think he need to came down first ,be relax like Niwa !Good job 🤗
FZD had show how to easily beat screamoto..change pace and attack from mid-distance..because that screamoto weakness plus he can't lob or attack from long distance
All the ppl complaining about the screaming clearly have never played the game first hand. If its 10-5 and you score 10-6 you belive I can do this and depending on the type of person, you show it! Otherwise you can just give up already. I like that there are different type of players in any way, be it tactically or emotionally. Shows that there is no "one and only way" which keeps the sport exciting!
I will always root *against* Harimoto as long as he screams and celebrates against every net ball, missed serve, and unforced error his opponent makes. His unsportsmanlike behavior is shameful.
I hate Harimoto's screams just a much as anyone else, and I was rooting for Koki all the way. But I do have to say that Harimoto never cho's when he gives a net or an edge. He does apologize very politely when that happens, so I gotta give him that
I remember when Koki Niwa said that he couldn’t go all out when facing with a younger opponent, but when he faces an older one, he can go all out and not feel bad about it. Watching this match made me remember of that statement.
I feel sorry for Harimoto. Somebody who was responsible for coaching him from a young age, years ago, failed him. They allowed him to form his habit of screaming after winning any point. And I think it reveals some kind of failure with whoever was teaching him and the method used. Regarding mental development. The mental side of the game. Something is not right and I cannot put a finger on it exactly. Perhaps the teacher, whoever that was, allowed him to think he was too great? If that makes sense.
lmao he's just not very mature, and screaming after points to keep momentum isn't him saying he's the best. there's no underlying mental stunting to look for here; don't be so dramatic
If cho'ing every point pumps him up, then great. He should keep doing it. He's 15 years old and number 4 in the world. A single loss from a high ranked opponent does not take away from his progress.
When you watch him live, you can feel his energy from the stands. It may be annoying to hear over the speakers but the stadium has a different atmosphere when harimoto is playing and the spectators enjoy it.
I didn't expect that three years ago Harimoto was already taller than Niwa? I personally think Harimoto improved a lot in the past three years. But no one can dislike Niwa! He is really a unique person!
Can someone please put screamomoto on mute...His way of playing is to scream, it should be illegal, he is only putting of his opponent because he can not keep up with them through skill - good on Koki for winning.
Niwa used his unpredictability well. He has no hope of out slugging Harimoto. Niwa's serve and misdirection is so good. Perhaps a lack of maturity, but Harimoto blasted shots even when he was caught out. He was extremely impatient, and that cost him many points.
Koki knows Hari's game well. He blocks with chops and side spins that upsets Hari's counter. Hari loves blocking but Koki fights fire with fire too. Ultra short serves halt Hari's loop drives plus a little change in loop/forehand trajectory also forces blocking error on Hari. But most of all, Koki's blocking ability is the winner. Gotta fight fire with fire but not yelling against screaming.
Am chuffed because Koki, like Kenta, can now say he's got a victory over Harimoto in international play. Also my ears are thankful he was the one who hit the awesome smash away from the table and the service ace in the second set. I shudder to think how Harimoto would have reacted were the roles reversed. But realistically: Koki had quite a few more nets and edges, and how far Harimoto was affected by the finger injury he got treatment for after the end of the 4th set I don't know. Missing from this highlights video. The right index finger definitely looked red and swollen. He basically stopped choing after that injury time out, which says something. Also, he's the future. He massacred Mizutani recently. And he looked competitive against both ML and FZD in this tournament - amazing for a 15 year old. Koki can't say that.
Matthew Haverly tbh, I don’t actually care that much about the screaming itself, it’s how often he does it, and after winning relatively insignificant points. That’s why I was happier in the last set, where he only kinda did it after winning good points
Imagine what a player Koki could have been if he actually was a professional athlete in any possible sense. This incredible technique and touch that he has combined with physical and mental strength and the will to be the best. Imagine it. Just for one moment. But I‘ll still like him. He mostly seems like he is playing only for fun. His body language sometimes reminds me of some people having a barbeque along with some beers and then decide to play table tennis.
I believe he has the strength. He lacks some footwork but his top spins are not so spinny and fast (powerful) because he uses non-tacky rubbers. Good for control but not power-looping.
If only I had a dollar everytime Harimoto 'cho' ed....I wouldn't earn much here. I'm surprised he didn't cho a lot many points here, which is good...the kids learning some respect. I would give a trophy to Koki Niwa for just shutting him up...what a saint...!!!😋
When you lose to Harimoto you have plenty of Times to think about it ... Don't forget that koki niwa was the Real second Prodigy in japan After mizutani . Harimoto came out and beat him 4-0 . I'm so happy koki niwa still Can beat Harimoto !
Hiromoto is still a kid and I think his antics matches his age. It's still very unusual for a Japanese to be so expressive. But unless Ur a teenager playing professional table tennis at this level, you'll never understand the pressure.
This kid will realize how important his vocals are when he gets on my moms age(50) He wont be able to even open his mouth let alone talk or scream Harimoto Mother Nature gave you your voice *And she will take it back*

Compared to Tomokazu almost everyone in the world is silent 😜
imagine if harimoto did an error serve and suddenly koki niwa shouts. that would be hilarious.
Evil... Lolz
That would shocked him to death.
But the most important thing is the face that harimoto would make
That would be suprising

Niwa blocked Harimoto's attack very well! Good to see him win
