A New Testament example to the usage of "know" is when Jesus says to the goats, "Get away from me, you evildoers, I never knew you."

WOW! This is beautiful! I, however, am searching for explanation of the meaning of "firstborn" in this passage, but, I am glad I listened to this about "foreknew" and called.

I found John Piper's great explanation in a later video to answer about "firstborn", search "How is Jesus the firstborn of creation", Colossians 1:15-18 - another fantastic explanation!!!

The word I’m looking at is *glorified*. We haven’t been glorified yet. That will happen in the resurrection. All you have to do is read a few verses before to understand the context. Romans 8:17-18 17 and if children, heirs also, heirs of God and fellow heirs with Christ, if indeed we suffer with Him so that we may also be glorified with Him.
18 For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
I am convinced that this is speaking from that future day when our bodies will be glorified for the simple fact that we haven’t been glorified yet. So from that perspective, God is looking back to the day we made a decision for Christ and walked with Him. Sometimes the Bible talks about future event using the past tense. For example revelation, and Old Testament prophecies about messiah.

Did you consider Romans 11:2 in determining the identity of "those He forknew"? If not, why not?
