I was at my daughters Youth Orchestra Recital last week (she is a flautist) and I came away thinking wouldn't it be nice to compose something more orchestral. But I will shelve that idea for now as this is just perfect an amazing piece of work Pat. The layering, the programming just works so well. Nice one.
This track is absolutely stunning. Simply inspiring. Sometimes you find a song and you realize you will listen to it for a long time. I’m writing from my 3rd listen in a row!
Do you mean specifically - orchestral scoring etc? That's not so easy. But if you mean ambient music, well that's a whole lot easier! I'm not very good at orchestral scoring at all, but if you search YT, you will find plenty of tutorials that cover everything from the basics.
@@stateazure fancy a treat? check out the 100yr anniversary performance of it at gloucester cathedral at midnight under the full moon. you can thank me afterwards 😉
@@OrbvsTomarvm Oh man, I just found it. I've never heard or seen this before, it's incredible and also will make for some great study material! Thanks so much. Those wonderful minor to major back to minor cadences are probably what reminded you of this. I really like those!
@@stateazure if there's a god of strings then it's Vaughan Williams. that whole piece makes every hair on my body stand up like nothing else ever has. it's mind blowing.
@@OrbvsTomarvm Yeah I very much agree. I just listened to that all the way through, it's incredible. I'm a huge fan of strings especially, and this is perfect! Love those plucked basses too, I forgot to include those in my performance setup. Many thanks for mentioning this, it just went to the top of my favourites in this genre!
We can't change the framework or the rules (musical theory), it's not possible. Like Lego, if we only have a small set of basic Lego pieces then we're limited to creating basic structures - perhaps an infinite combination, but simple nonetheless. To make complex and more interesting stuff, we need more pieces that support that. It's the same with music. We can create endless variations with just knowing a few simple rules, but those variations will always be quite simple and very limited. The rules can't be changed. We can bend the rules a bit (experimental music), but that's like making unfamiliar and weird shapes with our Lego pieces.
Vangelis would approve.
Absolutely magical sounds 😊

Wow. Soundtrack quality, to be sure. Stunningly beautiful. Well done!
This is the reason Apple Music is telling me Mr Azure is my most listened to artist in 2024… just like 2023.
Anche Spotify a me, ha detto lo stesso 😊
You have the best machine for composing, the Yamaha Montage! Take advantage!

The segment starting at about 5:22 is awesome
I bet many viewers would love to see a list of your favorite synths, as you have explored so many. Thanks
I rarely comment, but I just wanted to drop one and say I've been following your work for years and love it. Merry Christmas xd.
Thank you so much! Merry Christmas!

Will "Torsion" also appear on Spotify? Love "apex"!
Yes. It releases on Spotify on the 24th Dec :)
where does one go to learn this. I really enjoy listening to this and would love to start learning as a hobby. I'm willing to pay for lessons

I don't think I know it :) I probably stumbled on something similar while meandering about!

This was very pleasant, until the door bell chimed in.
Theories are only theories. Create your own.

Sorry but, find this boring and uninspiring
