@Downpour Bogeyman His music is always good, but his music is affected by what he has to represent. If he's given less inspired stories and concepts to score, his exploration and passion becomes restricted by result. It is clear, upon listening to the first four soundtracks, that there is an extra ingredient of love involved. Even he himself admitted he felt more inspiration with the original games. Especially with two and three, he always recalls the most passion and motivation with those games. In other words, a good artist is a good artist, but inspiration and motivation go a long way.
@Downpour Bogeyman It's funny you brought up Shattered Memories and Homecoming because, out of all the post Team Silent games, I believe Akira's best later work was in those two games. Frankly, I think Shattered Memories is the best "Silent Hill" thing that has come out of Konami since the original four (though it still has it's flaws for sure). Don't worry, I get you, Akira is a total artist. I can't even imagine how awful the newer games would be if they didn't at LEAST have his music scoring them. At this point, I just don't want to see a new Silent Hill game made at all, I think the original four are solid and need nothing added. The Last of Us, etc.

I don't care where I am
I don't care who you are
I don't care about the role I'm taking part
I see obscure and obscene
Nothing makes sense at any glance
Captivated yet truly I wanna flee
Wake me up from this trance
It is hanging from the ceiling
a rotten corpse
do I see right
or am I dreaming?
Twists its soulless body trough the air
Baffled I can only stare
Hesitant I admire my alien situation
Haven't I met you before?
At a subway station?
What is it now?
Real or unreal?
dream or wake?
Just let myself carry
wait for its passing
Don't think long it will be lasting
Odd shadows keep encircling
how long have they been lurking
Unsure of all this purpose
Hope not to lose myself in this Silent Circus.
