This has worked great for me! I love doing it this way. I was taught English style so it’s not a problem to use both ways. Thank you. 🌸

I knit both forwards and backwards in Continental and English and Portuguese styles. I learned this primarily because of having trouble with my hands due to Arthritis. Knowing how to knit in other methods avoids repetitive strain. If one stops moving the joints which are sore, the stiffness does not get better. So knitting is therapy for your hands but has to be low impact, when doing a knitting method, and my hands are getting sore, I switch to another method so I can keep going. At the point I started my experiment with myself, I has trouble even typing, handwriting had gone down hill. So we can rehabilitate via knitting. Knitting, we know is also calming to us so it is a healthy thing to do.
You are right about watching tension, it is important or it looks like someone else decided to finish your knitting. So while learning how to do a different style, I just make dish cloths. End up with something useful or as gifts and I learn something new.
Turns knitting not only rehabilitates arthritic fingers, it is also a preventative therapy for us all as we age. The more we continue to do with our hands, means we have a healthier hands but it does even more good for the brain. The surface of the brain is wired to our hands. Doing what is different is good for the brain, especially if it is difficult. When it becomes easy which it will, it goes into a different brain mode which is still good but challenging ourselves keeps us human and helps us to keep who we are for our own sakes and that of our children and grandchildren and of course, our spouse. Keep learning and you stand a better chance of keeping yourself.
Love your videos, you are a good teacher.

Bill, thank you very much for your videos. Without them, I would have never figured out this knitting thing. I started out doing it right handed, thinking it wouldn't matter, but when, after a month, I still couldn't manage to hold both the needles and the working yarn I tried it left handed and immediately saw the difference. Your videos have been invaluable to me. I have watched nearly every one of your videos. Now I am to the point where I need to figure out how to convert more complicated stitches to left hand knitting. Do you have any suggestions? I find very little other resources on the web. Thanks so much!

I am a newbie to knitting. What if you do not want to turn your work and you have to knit a stitch on the WS?

Just wondering if there will be future videos?

Yes, there will be. I am feeling well enough to be able to create some new content. I have also relaunched the Yarn Crafts for Lefties website through crowd sourcing so all of the videos are easily accessible in one place.

Thank you for asking. Sadly I'm not able to make videos because my computer broke several years ago and due to health issues I'm unable to work and earn the money to replace it. I do still knit as it's the one thing which helps with my anxiety. I'm sorry for not being able to make more videos.

@@YarnCrafts4lefties I love these videos. I'm sorry about your health etc.
I don't know much about the posting side of TH-cam, but I think that after you get 1,000 subscribers they can put ads before your videos and you'll get something more for that? I don't know. I don't know how it works... I'm 57 year old left handed crocheter just learning to knit...I love your ad free videos but if ads will help you, look into it and see what can be done.

    Not backwards...JUST left handed

It's backwards in the sense that we are working from right to left across the stitches in the direction a right handed knitter does however the approach to the stitches is designed to create the result a left handed knitter would make had they turned the work and purled across :-)

I've tried this and it does feel strange. It is going to take some practice for sure! :)
