How appropriate that the wood shop is in the former pigsty. That way, if anyone comes in when it is messy and exclaims, " This is a pigsty!" You can easily say back, "Yes, yes it is." 😊😅 The fresh veggies look great for a tossed salad. Yum!

Iliya, just a thought. Would a broken foot or toe, on you or Marina, affect your progress? I suggest steel toed safety shoes/boots. Those trainers provide no real protection.

Hi there! Congratulations for the good job you are doing. As a suggestion I use the dust saw wood to make brickets for fire start at my fire wood oven. I mixed the saw dust with dry leaves or junk paper with water. Make the mass, compress and cut it into small parts. Let it dry and use.

The planer is used to make the surface of the wood flat, take out any cup or undulation. The thicknesser is used to get your wood to a certain thickness. If you only use the thicknesser you will end up with undulating boards of one thickness, not flat boards of one thickness
They are the same machine as far as I understand most Europeans (especially the English) call it a thicknesser. The English have a penchant for being very creative for naming things like calling and excavator a "digger" etc.
The word you were looking for is “grit” the sand papers are different grit. Also you had me laughing out load about the paper for starting fires. The time laps had me laughing too as it looked like Marina was being pinned to the wall by a board over and over and just kept coming back for more. Your shop cleaning might be easier with a leaf blower; with one you could blast all the sawdust, spiderwebs, etc, from behind the shelves, wood stacks, etc, then blow everything out into the yard.
Didn't you have n electric winch to haul the beam steel onto the attic? You have some nice overhead beams in your workshop to use it to lift your equipment onto its stand.
abrasive size is called grit hope it helps nice planer joiner ..your stock should flow from storage to planer joiner to saw and then sander so you arent moving the wood around over and over layout is never perfect unless the tools and space are designed at the same time so get it to where you can work and see id it needs changing do it later thanks for the videos
Your woodshop is amazing! I envy all of you tools! I didn't see either of you using hearing protection. Please, those big machine noises will damage your hearing pretty quickly, You don't want to become deaf in your old age.

the miss seems to be pulling a little too hard on the planks, you have to let the machine do its work! And have you passed a metal detector on each plank (each side)$ 30 Amazon, the knives of your machine = $$$! follow since the beginnings, lol❤
With large pieces of timber like that sometimes the drive rollers slip on the uneven and then smooth surface and you have to give them a hand. Either pushing them or pulling them through. Done enough thicknessing in my time.

Using an Anti fog spray also helps with the moisture or fogging up of your goggles. A trick I learned in the service.

Hi guys - I use a bit of silicon spray on the bed of the thicknesser - stops you having to push the wood through the machine .
