      My dad had a 74 C30 w/a 454. But his work use these trucks for plowing. So I learned to plow on a square body. It was my godfathers 78 K20.

      This one appears to be a regular frame to me, but the frame does seem to be narrower. I need to compare it to one of my other square bodies and find out. I don't know why I didn't think to do that in the video.

    Maybe it was a special order? Don’t know why though when you can just order a single wheel one ton.

      I'm leaning towards a rear diff swap at this point.

    With most of these old square bodies you can't assume that what you see on them today has anything to do with they way they were built. So many interchangeable parts over the years. Most you find today are frankenstein trucks. I'm sure you looked but sometimes a partial rpo decal will be stuck to the back of the sunvisor. There's one on my old C70 (not a square body, but in the family)

      I totally understand what you're saying, the problem is, I also have a couple of square bodies that are 100% stock so I'm not used to looking at the Frankenstein stuff. I will say though that the more I paw over this truck the more I like it. I absolutely can't believe how good it drives. It's amazing! I have looked everywhere on this truck for any signs of RPO codes and they're absolutely none. This is definitely a Frankenstein truck of some kind. Thank you for your input. I really appreciate it.

    Somebody swap in that narrow 14 bolt rear end.

      It looks more and more that way.

    Is this what they called a heavy half?

    • @greasebellygarage
      @greasebellygarage 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      No, the heavy half was a C10 without emissions and heavier rear springs. Thanks for watching rainbow Man!

    The K20 came with a 3/4 ton rear end did not come with this kind of rear end the 3500 series Duallys came with this kind of rear end these are the only kind of trucks came with that kind of rear end the only way you do a 3/4 ton of a dually is not the lugs out and put longer lugs in it and make a Dually but you would have to put a spacer Between the Wheels to widen out

      You might be on to something because we have since contacted the previous owner who said that his grandfather ordered this truck that way. He says the rear end has never been changed nor anything else on the truck. His grandfather ordered it for a slide in camper. You might be right about the lugs though. We are still investigating this
