Would love for you to dig deeper into this. I have a MiSTer and am loving it, been mulling this over, but thought it might have been a waste of time for MIDI. Blown away by how good it is, completely exceeded all expectations.
DOA member nkrypth did the overlay comparison, there was only slight deviation between the files. I want to make a more in depth video on this when my schedules permits. Overall he was impressed with how close the results were.
PS came here from your Reddit post. I love the old tech. I would dearly love an old setup again. I’m going to buy a Mister FPGA soon, maybe we can compare notes! Are you British? I’m in Margate in Kent I’d love to meet up with some other old school nerds!
Would I run into issues trying to run Cubase 3.1 on a 1040STF with 1MB memory and TOS 1.04? Or would I be better off running version 2? Is 3 a lot better, or was it just some extra features?
I know this is an old comment but in case anyone else comes across this. I'm running Cubase 3 on a 1MB 1040STF without issue with a MIDEX also installed. I do have the additional modules disabled and of course the maximum number of MIDI events will be reduced on 1MB but it runs. Losing memory for the HDD drivers installed for the UltraSatan might be enough to require the memory expansion though.
I prefer the Mister operationally to my STe. I have a seamless option to run Mister Atari ST in 1280x960 resolution. This would be cost prohibitive to do on a native Atari machine. Midi wise I am struggling to hear a major difference between the 2.

You finally made it to my TH-cam recommended videos!
Interesting! How many MIDI ports can the MiSTer handle and can it still manage decent timing when utilizing all available channels in Cubase?
Fire song
awesome! how are you getting midi in and out?
Oh yeah!!!!
Both sound great! Have you overlaid the wavs to see if there's any shifts in the timing? Doesn't matter, as you cant hear it, just out of interest.

Spot on!
Thank you! I was waiting for this!
Can you manage to try the 486 core with Fastracker and check if it works with midi?
Working on that one right now. Struggling to get FT2 working without crashing
Name of the rack please , I am looking for nice tilted rack like yours ( around 14 units high )
Your tunes are great! Anywhere I can buy them? Any pressed on vinyl? Thanks!
Working on a EP at the moment. For vinyl I would like to crowdfund the pressing when that time comes.
Any conclusions? Is Mister spot on?
I’ll let the results speak for themselves. I personally favor the Mister for its enhanced features over my STe.
@@Arc.hitectureMusic Thanks for the video, I've been waiting for such comparison since I knew about the Mister project.

Cubase 3 needs a minimum of 2MB Ram to run. Cubase 2 will work

I don't understand: there is a Mister neu and i can run Cubase 3.1 without my Cubase Dongle?🤨🤔
If someone has MIDIGal I'd love to see that measured by it.
Do you have a preference?

wow the timing is really bad on the mister
At which part?
