Improved hardening gives better protection/reduction of own damage. With the improved track health and increased HP also I don't see why you would chose spall liner.
i just had 4 games all wins with the FV4005 , 3 kills on each. also with other TDs. it seems that is essential to have at least 3 TD. since it's a small group combat mode, TDs don't have many enemy to watch out for . my favorites for this mode is fv4005, Minotauro and the japanese TD. i ocassionally swap betwen minotauro and the badger if i have city maps.
Fun and great content for sure, but... Yes, but, onslaught is supposed to be a more competitive ranked mode and I feel a lot of people are being, yes, shafted in this mode. I had about 7 matches in a row and finished number 1 in damage on all, ALL LOSSES. That means a huge drop in rank, against very clearly better teams. The fact we don't know what tanks we are playing against doesn't help, for example.
This, I'm in the exact same boat as you. Consistently finishing top on damage yet coupled with brain dead friendly teams against way better enemies. It's a really stupid point system imo and punishes you for doing well if you lose.
I remember clan wars where people tried 8 BC25+7 AMX 50 B setups, or when Foch 155 was added, had OP armor and 10 of them was charging through city in ruinberg

Come to sea server and play solo, then you will hate this mode, I tried for 3 solid nights to get past the first rank but the team play is so so bad, I just gave up in pure fustration I only got to A level once and that was with me having to score 5k plus per game, too many tourists in this mode.
Daki, "Do I get paid extra for this"? I guess these guys are being paid for this, which is fine. But, it makes me wonder about all their recommendations they give. Is WG paying for those too? SMH

I feel there are quite a few tanks which really benefit from the spall liner as essentially a backup "shot".
