Solid food is a big moment!
Guess it’s too late now but you should not introduce multiple food items at the same time. If she would have a digestive or allergic issue you won’t be able to isolate the exact culprit. Also, try spooning some baby food out of the jar and into a bowl so you can gently warm the food. And you won’t risk contamination by reintroducing the spoon with her saliva on it back into the jar.

New parenting is a learning curve, Baby Hailey looks happy and healthy.. good job parents. Ours didn’t do babyfood hated it! We did baby led weaning and she enjoys all foods at 13 months not picky at all. Again good job Katie and Travis always do what is best for your family.
Came to say the same thing, not being critical but just a little advice to introduce foods one at a time so you know exactly what she reacts to if she has a bad reaction and it's not a guessing game. And when you can make your own baby food, little ones usually like it way better😊
That’s outdated advice, no need to space out new foods, just go for it.
Former pediatric nurse and also mother of baby severely allergic to multiple foods - only try ONE food at a time for 3-5 days then add a different food and repeat. Start with single veggies, then single fruits, single meats, then you can start doing combos of foods you’ve already tried. Also, the younger age you initiate foods the higher probability for food allergies. Please know this comes from love. It’s clear y’all love her so very much and she’s an absolute joy ☺️ *apples, strawberries, bananas mixed is stage 2 because they’re mixed which relies on parents having tested each individually 💜

When my children were babies they were started on cereal first heated up and then fruit heated up and on at a time for a few days.

Hailey is getting so big! When our 1st was 5 months old, we got pregnant with our 2nd. We loved being parents so much that we couldn't wait to have more. We had 3 babies in less than 3 years. Now, they are all grown and have families of their own. The time went by way too quickly. Keep enjoying each other and making memories together. Those memories will sustain you in your elder years. We love you guys so much and, as always, keep you and your big wonderful families in our daily prayers. Gentle hugs from Donna in Florida.

@@TravisandKatie1 my kids are 14 and 10, rules have probably changed. We had no problems with our son, but our daughter turned out to be allegric to peaches and certain types of dairy.

Haley is so cute! Travis is such a great Dad! The way he looked at her and smiled while drying her hair and then reading to her. It’s so special. He’s a reflection of God’s love to Haley. Katie is beautiful and an awesome mama! Great job breast feeding the first 5 months.
You guys are crushing this parenthood thing. Hailey is beautiful and very smart. Travis is partially right about having 18 summers with our kids but it’s all how they are raised. My kids are 24 and 28 and we spend the summer doing family vacations etc. we are together almost more now than when they were growing up. Just don’t blink or they grow up so fast.
She’s so cute. Love all the rolls❤. When you dip the spoon back in the jar and put it in the fridge the saliva will make bacteria and liquid will be on top of food next time you use it. Scoop out a little and put in bowl with separate spoon. Enjoy the food journey.
Love seeing as parents and when bringing up Bates was on I loved watching the relationship between you guys started and Haley is so cute and beautiful
Goodness, I remember being that enthusiastic when my firstborn went after the baby food. I thought he was the smartest baby ever made! 😊 He's 43 now and I still think he hung the moon! I love y'alls reaction to everything Hailey! Way to go, Hailey! Also, don't forget, you can strain your own baby food from fresh fruits and veggies!
Best to start one kind at a time. Also start with vegetables because fruits are sweet!

Super sweet! Agree to be cautious when introducing foods one at a time to rule out allergic reactions ♥️. I gave up on bibs w/ my second. We just took our baby’s shirt off for mealtime & wiped her down afterwards. Way easier!

Travis and Katie it was so sweet seeing Haylie eat, she really done well better than most kids her age. Her opening mouth to grabbing the spoon wow she’s really doing good. She acts older than she is, proud of you Haylie!!!

Those 18 summers, Christmases, Easter’s, Birthdays will fly by!! I enjoyed every phase of my daughters’ childhoods! Now 22 and 19, working and in Bible Univ! I’m proud of them but it’s the worst stage for me!! They’re gone from the home but never my heart!! Enjoy it all!!

As a suggestion that worked for my babies, pick 3 foods (1 meat, 1 veggie, 1 fruit) . After nursing , feed up to 1/2 jar of each starting with meat, then veggie, then fruit. This is well balanced. Then finish off with nursing. My firstborn LOVED this method! It helped me, too, to make sure we were trying different options and not just giving dessert. Again this is just a suggestion. Do what you want. Cute video.

Fresh food should always be given. Babies don't need purees or mush and that amount of food is WAY too much for starting out. Babies can eat what you eat, big chunks are best eg cooked carrot sticks, broccoli florets, big sliced of avocado. It doesn't matter if they have teeth or not. Baby led.eating is the best way to introduce food.

Get 2 or 3 heavy duty stiff plastic bib. Covers who chest area + she can't crunch it like material.
You rinse them at kitchen faucet + hang to drip dry.
You will love. My daughter-in-law used for her kids. Such loving parents! Wonderful! Gran of 5.

Try fruit first or cereal make sure you stick one for a few says in case of allergies. Meat is later. Talk to your pediatrician on what to start first .

Several baby foods really upset my granddaughter's stomach. The way to know is only feed her one new one new food every few days so you can see if she is allergic or it upsets her stomach. Lightly heating helps as well. She was so sweet with daddy. Love seeing these special moments.

Hailey is so adorable…thanks for sharing your beautiful family with us… back in the day we started our kids off with boxed cereals like rice, barley and mixed cereal for 5 days mixed with breast milk…then after she was good we added the fruits bananas, apple sauce, pears and peaches. Then when ok we mixed it with the cereals, then went on to carrots and butternut squash (which they loved but turned orange) then peas etc…gross when they started those jars of meat. This is an exciting time but remember the 5 day rule and only 1 thing so you’ll know if she’s allergic to anything and we’d spoon it in a dish so not to contaminate the jars with saliva…enjoy your journey and you guys are doing a great job. Hailey is one lucky little girl to have such loving and caring parents…remember it’s sad but Timeflies so happy you’re enjoying these precious moments mine are now 28 and 23 and have no clue where the years went. 🩷🙏🏻🩷

I didn't feed any solid food to my six children until they were one yr. Old. Their first food was avocados...
I would suggest putting a small amount in a separate bowl or plate, the spit on the spoon will “break down” the babyfood into a watery mess. So if she doesn’t finish it in one meal you can store & give her more from the jars in another meal. Also store in fridge.
Katie, everyone has a preference, I find that SHOUT worked best on “baby stains” before washing. Ya’ll are awesome!! Love watching your vlogs from Middle TN!! 🧡🧡

Mom of four here… I love the other suggestions around isolating to one type of food for 3 days at a time. To add to that consider making your own baby food at home. It’s honestly a bigger time and money saver than jarred food. Once a week pick two veggies or fruits to steam or boil. I suggest going organic. I would cook everything to kill bacteria except bananas. Get a good food processor and little reusable plastic ware containers. Make enough for the week and put two days worth in the fridge and the rest in the freezer. Enjoy!

Yes. You must introduce one food at a time. If she becomes allergic you'll know what food it was that caused it. My kids loved applesauce. She is so cute.

First food should always be introduced ONE food at a time so you can monitor for reactions and fresh food is best as processed food has lots of other ingredients. Gone are the days where we give purees and mush. Put BIG chunks on her high chair tray such as avocado, thick sticks of cooked carrot or broccoli or roasted sweet potato and let her pick it up or put it in her hand. Give her basically what you have, sounds weird but it's honestly the best. They won't overeat, they decide when they've had enough rather than having it spoon fed. It's messy but the best fun!

She really does take to it naturally. I was going to say one food at a time too but maybe the recommendations have changed. I know the whole peanut butter introduction has changed. I used the method of “baby lead weaning”. It is the name of the book so if you want to take a look at it I think it is great way to introduce food.

If you warm it up she will like it. I used to warm it up in the bottle warmer for my triplets. Or let it sit in warm water.
It is so easy to make her baby food, so you will know what she is getting. I did green beans, sweet potatoes, peas, avocado and apples. Just steam veggies or cook potatoes and put in the baby bullet and freeze into ice cube trays and take out an hour before she eats

You two are such great parents! Hailey puts the biggest smiles on my face. She is so adorable! She totally picked the pink animal and grabbed the spoon to her mouth, and that straw! She's learning fast. Both my dogs stopped what they were doing when she started talking - it was like they understood her. hmmm
I made my second baby homemade food by just steaming veggies in the microwave and pureeing it up in a blender or with an immersion blender. Fruits like apples I baked in the oven and cooled and pureed. Some things you can cheat with buying frozen (they are some of the freshest because they are frozen directly from the field), steam or cook and then puree and freeze. Some veggies/fruits need to be pushed through a mesh to get the skins or seeds (for example peas, berries) for the first foods. Then I put them in an ice cube tray in the freezer, once frozen I popped them out and into a ziploc freezer bag and just grabbed a cube or two (which measures out to about a oz) whenever I was going to feed her. Once we made sure she wasn't allergic to anything, she would get a fruit and veggie at "lunch time." She ended up being a less picky eater than my first that ate jarred food. I was even able to puree things that you don't usually see in jars (Broccolli, cauliflower, etc). As she got older, we moved straight to what we were eating (cut small meats and steamed veggies).
