Nice shave Sig, great looking razor for the shave today. I haven't shot off anything in a couple decades now for the New Years celebration. To be honest it really doesn't mean much having the year change to me other than remembering a new number.

Nice last shave of 2022! My year-end shave will be PAA Shave Chaser soap lathered in my Captain's Choice copper bowl using the Rockwell 6S w/ a new Wilkinson Sword (India) blade. Post-shave will be alum, witch hazel, Nivea sensitive balm, and PAA Shave Chaser splash. Our traditional New Year's Day meal will be baked ham, collard greens w/ hot pepper sauce, black-eyed peas, and corn pudding casserole with drinks of choice. Happy New Year, Sig!!!

All kinds of great products in this shave! That Karve razor looks awesome with the copper accents, and I've looked at getting some copper parts for my CB razor a number of times. I'm hoping for a little bit of a weather warm-up so I can finish out a number of projects I'm working on. I'm crossing my fingers for some smoother sailing in the new year, because the last half of this one has been a little rough! Not sure yet on New Year's Eve plans, but that's the usual for me. Sounds like you have some great stuff going on! Happy New Year to you and your family!

Greetings my friend and Happy New Year! We just had ours 30 minutes ago here. Had a great dinner and watch the New York City Times Square big ball slide down the poll had a glass of sparkling wine to toast my wife with.
Earlier today December 31, 2022, I received my new King C Gillette razor and I shaved with it using a Personna Blue (USA) blade. I wanted to thank you for recommending this razor. I was absolutely surprised at the quality of the workmanship and build quality and looks of the razor, and I am very happy with the shave quality. Efficient and extremely comfortable… all that I hoped it would be!

@@SIGSOLO Just so I'm clear, I did not go to New York, just watched it on the TV. I went twice back in the 1980s to Time Square and did not enjoy myself. Too many people and you are forced to stand in the crowd of people and you can’t hardly move.
These days it's also not safe. A man on New Years day was stabbed right next to a police car in broad daylight. So sad... so many people can't be kind to others.
Yes... the King C Gillette is an excellent razor. I honestly don't see why it's not more popular. I heard/saw some people's comments that it wasn't a real Gillette because it wasn't made in the USA. Well, regardless of were it is made, it is a beautiful, extremely well built Razor that shaves just wonderfully. I was so pleasantly surprised.
Also I ordered a Gillette Super Speed Flare Tip razor today on eBay. Will be hear next week... perhaps Wednesday or Thursday.
My Gillette Fatboy from my grandfather and Gillette Slim from my father will always be my primary most used razors, but I'll have these others to use in my rotation.

I might be wrong but the KCG handle was made in China and chromed in the US. Head was made in Germany and chromed and finished in the US. Box made in the US and the blades made in Russian… Or so I was informed by a famous YT’er/Artisan/Vendor from Arizona…
I have Gillette Ball End Tech from all the 8 countries it was made in, so the argument with only the US is a hoax!!
I’m glad you like it and I love mine. What others regard as correct/real is a not important to me; only that it is a FAB-tastic shaving razor that is awesomely priced!!

#1. New Year's Eve and here I am....I love that Paco Rabanne One Million Scent. Thanks for the tip of the Arko Gold version.
A. I never do anything for New Year's Eve...all my past attempts at a stereotype Ball Drop Party, Date Night and etc failed miserably; one debacle and catastrophe after another so I have given up on them...I used to watch Dick Clark's Rockin New Year and its Countdown but he died and it went downhill from that point on. So, I tend to watch movies until I pass out...
B. New Year's Day: I'll cook a restaurant style steak dinner and watch movies.
#2. Certainly not a Karve but I might buy razor, even though I had said that there would be no further wet shaving items after the FHN soap...I am 9/10 about to pull the trigger maybe even 2022 shuffles off into oblivion...(I'd better hurry; it's 10:21 pm).

Sometimes a slow relaxing evening with movies is all the doctor ordered!
We had pizzas today for dinner and we'll have the left overs from the Reindeer and lamb tomorrow.
In the last week of december I landed all three Grails from my vintage list.
1) A late 40's Gillette FH Tech from Brazil (Mint and unused).
2) A NIB 51' Gillette Psycho Tech with replica key and packaging.
3) A 47' Gillette FH Tech Hybrid in user grade condition.
I've also gottn a new Blackland razor.
1 and 2 have arrived and 3 will be shipped tomorrow.
I have a new Karve PommelKnopf model coming in that I kind of suggested to Chris.
I have a giant number of razors (that have come in during 2022) that I haven't used on my channel, yet...
The brakes are on for 2023 so I'll be extremely picky.
On my super short list for 2023:
- Karve Titanium CB.
- Yates BYOR titanium razor.
- Drakkant agressive plate and 4'' handle (waiting for the release)
- A Rex Konsul.
If they are bought will depend on a number of factors.....
