Nigeria Prison Congestion: Rising Inmates' Deaths

Nearly one in three prisoners across the world are behind bars without a trial. Nigeria has one of the highest statistics with about 75% of the country’s inmates still awaiting trial, this is according to a United Nations report.
The situation has led to severe overcrowding in prisons and claims of mistreatment and abuse of inmates.
Ishaq Khalid visited the southern city of Port Harcourt and spoke to some of those affected.
