I know people are losing their minds over what Webby said about kids, so I thought I might share my perspective as a mother, someone who was married to someone transgender and was raised in the San Franscisco Bay Area (so pretty liberal)...if your 8yr old girl/boy comes to you and says I identify as (insert opposite gender)...the correct answer is a nonchalant "That's nice Honey" and accommodate clothing change without fuss...don't freak out...also don't praise them to no end for being brave or encourage... You can be supportive without encouragement or discouragement...answer any questions with facts...why yes, some people are going to be mean, but we can only control our own behavior, maybe try it out at home first before going to school, but if you like it be you....etc... most times it will pass, when I was 5 and asked I said I wanted to grow up to be a fire truck...but under no circumstances should anyone not grown be allowed to decide to surgically or chemically change their physiology...once you are grown and sure I support you in whatever you decide, until then dress and live as whatever you like but you are not old enough to decide permanent life changes... Think about it, if you can't rent a hotel room, join the military or buy a beer, why would we let you forever change your body

But they think that society owns your kids and so they actually think that they have more love and compassion than you do for your kids. I don’t think you can truly actually know what love is until you’ve had kids that’s my opinion. I have two daughters only person that might love them more than me is my wife. These people think that they love our kids more than we do because they don’t know what love is.

What we perceive as the truth they may not. How can I baby someone just because I have respect for people. That's the real problem noone knows how to be kind anymore or respect someone.
