    from what i understand the best way to profile an amp with the new liquid profile is to set up the gain all the way up and the eq at noon.
    put aside that,the kemper is the only gear i have that i don't have the need to upgrade or replace to something else after 5 years of usage

    I've owned my Kemper for over ten years. Like Line 6, the free updates are amazing! This last one for Kemper especially! The profiles I've created are better than they have ever been. I just made some new ones as well.

    I wouldn’t use the phrase “game changing”, but improvements, most definitely. And there have been a fair amount of them of late. The most important of which is probably the ability to use the Kemper as an audio interface, long awaited. Note also, Kemper’s improvements/updates are very regular. The liquid profile turning one good profile into all that you need is an advantage. See if you can borrow someone’s Kemper Kabinet. I would be interested on your opinion of it.

    ive tried every type of other modeler pedal out there. I used Fractal exclusively since 2011. Most I can not "hear" a difference. especially when it comes to high gain tones. But nothing compares to the kemper when it comes to the feel of an actual tube amp. It absolutely blew away my fractal axe 3. I quickly converted over to exclusively Kemper

    For people that love the experience of their personal Amps, but want the flexibility and convenience of a Modeler, this could be a welcome solution. No need to lug around heavy, priceless Amps and pedals, or deal with cables and extra noise.

    The LP has actually made me love my Kemper again. Biggest plus for me with the LP is that that typical mid end compression phasey sound that every 'classic' profile had more or less, is absent, so I now enjoy the sounds way more.

    I too still have my Kemper but I'm not using it for live gigs anymore. The HX Stomp with the Grammatico GSG model or the UAFX Dream 65 plus a few pedal is all I need for fly dates.
    I recently purchased a Tonex and it reminded me of the Kemper deep rabbit hole I fall into looking through profiles.
    I'd rather play guitar instead of tone chasing, although it is fun...

      I feel the same as you personally, ironically the people that love profilers over modeling feel the opposite. A lot of people say they find dialing in a modeller too tedious and the profiles stop them from tone chasing as much. It really just comes down to the individual and what they prefer at the end of the day.

    I understand that people really have a gear buying addiction but as a non professional I will never buy anything else over the Kemper.
    The kemper does everything I need at full capacity and more. Morph is an insane feature, Pedal emulation is next level.
    Even if I load a profile and it doesn't sound 1:1 to the original amplifier, think about the insane savings you've had not buying that amplifier or buying cabinets and microphones.
    There may be better technology but as someone who's had the Kemper for 5+ years, it will wait a decade or more for me to switch over.

    I'm playing strictly out-of-the-box now with plugins. After dozens of amps and modelers, I'm off the GAS hamster wheel. The one piece of modular gear I miss is the Kemper.
    From time-to-time, I catch myself doing the 'dirty slut walk of shame' - checking out Kemper Stages. There are modeler/profilers that sound a hair better - but nothing 'feels' like a Kemper.

      Why bother. Its extra heat, extra weight, extra cost, less reliable for what? Something you might bot even need? If you want it and are gigging you will probably want to run with redundancy or through the in house pa so you are going to be running it through other amps anyway. Its a gimmick.

    I believe profiling is a bridging technology, only viable in the period between old style amps and digital modeling. Once you get a really good digital modeler (which was a while ago!) then profiling is really only useful for analyzing old hardware for the result of creating new models. We are the last generation of guitarists who will give 1 shit about named/branded "original" hardware amplifiers and tones. Once that heavy anchor to the past is severed, guitarists will be free to explore a universe of new tones and capabilities instead of trying to all sound like we are still in the 50s.

    i work on live gigs with real tube amps and speakers and also modelers and they lack the punch ,warmth and presence of a real amp, i often hear the sound guy ask: is this your distortion? since it sounds like a clean boost with reverb. ok for backing and clean stuff. most young guitar players these days wouldn't know what to do in front of a real amp that's just sad.

      @johnnathancordy  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Why? If artists are experiencing reduced income from record sales and streaming (which most are right?), this would be something that folks would be absolutely willing to part with their cash for. There is also a tiny bit of precedence for this www.guitarworld.com/news/joe-bonamassa-amp-collection-ik-multimedia
      In any case - I'd wager the guitar playing public would be WAY more interested in captures/profiles from folks like Bonamassa, Eric Johnson and so on, there's LOADS of money to be made

    • @davidyelland908
      @davidyelland908 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@johnnathancordy It is hard to sound distinctive these days. If you feel you have something unique, you perhaps wouldn’t want to hear your sound on everyone elses records.
      I guess the compromise would be to hold something back….a bit like Helix presets minus the IR that was used (the copyright makes this essential in any case.
      The real test will be if anyone takes up your idea.

    On the note about profiling amps from artists as they are recording, I think a key point is that the reaction from people would be "this sounds nothing like the record, wtf?" because not only you're not using the same guitar, but also on the recording you're not listening to the amp in the room, you're listening to whatever a mic picked up and then what was processed on the daw after removing frequencies and then altered even more while mastering. Not to mention double tracked guitars and so on...
