Thanks Imo for bringing back some more happy memories for me. I went to Gloucester a few years ago when I stayed in Newport for a few days. I went inside that former church that is now a heritage centre. The people there were lovely and seemed to be interested when I explained that I had traced some of my ancestors had been baptised and married in that church. I think they do heritage walks from there, if you had more time. I love Gloucester Cathedral and thought you could see it from the train too. I had wanted to visit Gloucester Cathedral for a long time and I wasn't disappointed, so looking forward to your next vlog. You've reminded me why I want to return to Gloucester x
So we are venturing over to the west side of England. I'll be very interested in the tour video tomorrow. The Cathedral dates back to the 11th century, even old by your standards! Thanks for taking us along.

Both hubby and I continue to wear our masks too. Numbers are creeping upwards here too. Better to be safe than sorry right now. Oh man... just seeing you having to take all the different trains triggers my anxiety. I'd be so worried I'd end up in some other country... hahaha... and yet you just do it all with ease. I just love how pedestrian friendly so many of the areas that you video are. That is one strikingly beautiful cathedral... wow... The statues of the 6 men above the archway are stunning. The all around architecture is amazing. 💗
Awww don't worry - I'm a seasoned train traveller and I use my phone apps to keep on top of changes, too. It's a bit more scary abroad, though, in non-English speaking places. Thanks, Sandy! x
See my experience of bus stations was totally different. Stinking of cigarette smoke, stinky bus fumes and early mornings needing to go to collage. I do not get excited by them as you do 🤣
You were looking the wrong way to see the Cathedral, you could see the hospital and the spire you could see was St Peter's on London Road, the Cathedral is in the western side of the city toward the River Severn, the railway station is in the eastern side of the city centre and London Road is further east from that so you were looking 180 degrees the wrong way :)
So amusing how every church you saw you thought was the big daddy of them all. I always like to take people around the side of Gloucester Cathedral where there's a piece of a spire from St John's church (St John's Northgate) which blew off in a storm and I tell them it's a baby cathedral. Americans have been known to take me seriously. One thing Gloucester still has quite a lot of is beautiful churches.
Norway has removed all rules, and is back to "normal", but I do as you say you will, use it when its hard to stay away from people. A lot for people get covid here now, because the rules are gone.
You don't have to wear masks on public transport in England anymore but it's such a minor inconvenience, it seems silly not to! Cases are rocketing again here on the island and we've had buses cancelled and all sorts (with staff testing positive and isolating). Like you say, I think people have sort of 'forgotten' because there's so much going on in the world at the moment. 🙁🇺🇦
