Oh my gosh, I watched full game. After the first, because of how bad he was at calling balls and strikes, I started counting bad balls and strikes (when I say this, I mean anything where at least half the ball is in the strike zone). I counted over 50 bad calls from the rest of the game. I think it was like, 53 or something like that.
I genuinely wanna know what made Alvarado go after that rinky-dink hit to third. He had the worst angle on the ball to get anyone out and it looked like it was bouncing into foul territory. It didn't bite the Phillies in the ass today, but that doesn't make it any less stupid. I just had to get that off my chest.
Rob thomson gotta stop benching Stott and marsh. and he was wildin putting soto out for the save... it somehow all worked out. this team is good enough to phone it in and still come out with a win sometimes. the bats were also brutal today. struck out 18 TIMES.... Wheeler was a dawg though, grinding through a bunch of long at bats. I also give props to Gregory soto for battling back with only one out and runners at the corners.
I think the Angels are bad enough to let the Phils get away with this crap. It won't fly against the Braves or Dodgers or other good teams. Let's hope they figure it out before October!

So, the home plate ump was calling low strikes today for sure, to be fair it was for both sides so call it a wash. It is good to have a game like this you have to learn how to buckle down for those close ones, they help later on too. I think we are learning how to put things away too on this west coast trip. Unfortunately the ebb and flow of baseball does dictate we will have a bad turn somewhere if we can weather that storm without to much problem we will be where we want to be. Our pitchers look incredible, bullpen is fairing ok, maybe need a little tightening up there with some games but overall doing good enough. I hope we can continue this game of not really small ball, that is not our game but aggrsive at our approach along with taking what we are given i see alot of hits opposite field, moving runners well, then occasionally the bomb, so it is working very well. Casty caught looking 2 times but swipes at down and away those called 3rd strikes were right in his wheelhouse too, he may not be seeing it well out there. Let's go PHILS......

Still the same problems with this team. They tend to make mediocre pitchers look like Nolan Ryan and their pitch recognition is none existent. Watching them stare at pitched that go right down the middle while they swing at pitches in the dirt is maddening. In one at bat, Edmundo Sosa swung at a pitch that not only was in the dirt but 2 feet outside. The catcher literally caught the pitch in the other batters box.
Offense was terrible but they won. They have flaws but who doesnt. The most wins in BB in May. Havent said that in along time. Phillies do have sum issues on the bench. Stubbs is terrible. I see why JT plays so much. Sosa stinks also and the Soto move isnt working for 2 years now. DD should have know u are trsding for a closer and all they have done is bounce him around. I dont think Thomson has any clue how to manage pen

Lol....Bohm is only one of the best 3rd basemen in the league. Bonehead play all around for Alvarado. It might have gone foul.

Starting pitching has been great. Relieve pitching? Not so much. Thank goodness the Phils usually score a lot of runs.
